I watched this video a bunch to give me confidence to do this to my car. I appreciate this.
Great videos love the work you show! Also just out of curiosity what is the name of the sprays you used for the battery terminals to take off corrosion and to prevent the rusting
I found this video from the original video. Thanks for this.
What chemicals do you use ?
Another fast quick repair
Well maybe they get back to ny
That's still nasty, that old acid on that support plate is bad around harness wires connects…maybe some baking diluted…etc.
he didn't have to, but he did, what a great service he provides!
When assisting my real mechanic son with repair jobs, I make him a bit nuts by wire brushing and painting whatever parts I can get my hands on. Usually when it’s the next part he wants to put on. And you know how mechanics get if you slow them down, even when they aren’t on the clock. Pleases me, though.
I swear I can smell the corrosion when you use the wire brush! Hope you don't breath it in?
NOCO products are now available at WalMart in the automotive battery department
The before looks like an alien skull with shades on…lol
love your vodeos RAAAAY!!!!!!!!
Just wondering why you clean the outside of the clamp that carries no current but dont disassemble and clean where the cables connect to the clamp
"I think I damaged my soul!"
Here from the A/C vid.
Painting the handle was over the top rainman!👍🇺🇲
Is there any modern battery that you can clean without damaging it? When I was young, I had a
66 Mercedes with bakelite batteries that could actually be rinsed out and filled with new acid, and that worked afterwardthey could even be welded if they cracked during the winter! It needed a lot of energy when it was a diesel without glowing so under minus 30 degrees Celcius the poor starter had to turn about a half-hour but didn't break- that car does I miss very much! Why don't you use baking soda to clean the acid off
Assaulting a Battery, excellent!
Never seen a battery looking this… damn. How it was even functioning is puzzling to me.
When a master technician has a slow day and does it small easy job it literally becomes a masterpiece
Ray, have you ever gotten foreign projectiles in your eyes when you grind something?
Nice job!
These extra video's are interesting Thank You !!
"I'm going to will this day into a different reality". Surprising how well that can work, just get's your head into the right headspace.
All vids spot on, how can people let battery's get to such a bad state of disrepair
you cheated rofl

I'm here to reinforce my tapie tap on the subscribe button from long ago.
Sure, spray-painting the battery bracket may seem silly cosmetic action, but the paint can help delay/slow future corrosion.
Thank you!
Where would one get those drill-mounted battery post & terminal cleaning brushes you use to great effect?
That battery holder-downer 5000 is missing some plasticy pieces
You did a great job.. although! I would have scrubbed that battery holder to make the paint adhere better. And I thought it was interesting that you didnt transfer over the battery cover. That battery cover is designed to reduce thermal deltas from high heat, and ice cold temperatures.
The condition of that battery made me shiver……………. Bleh…
Seen a few nasty batteries but I think this one has won. Like the fact you never let a vehicle beat you unless it's outside your knowledge range and that's extensive. Your knowledge I mean.
do they park the car in a swamp?
Good job, Ray!
Battery hold down rebuilt
What products do you use to clean the clamps & protect them afterwards?
prob its ok cleaning only ports but in my book of standards thats not enough. there is a lot more crusty contact on plus side that should be shiny and nice. js
One thing that has seemed odd to me; how on Earth was that corrosion pink! Never seem anything like it. The super clean and painted battery hold-down clamp was very satisfying, sometimes it is the little cosmetic things that make the difference (As well as being functional)
Where to get these brushes?
what did the loud test show on the old battery and how old was it ? it was starting the car when you drove it in. nice cleaning ! but
I still hope that you get one of those silicone wedding bands before you burn or tear a finger off.
Fun fact, I had a neighbor once in a really nice area, and she was pretty hot, anywho, she collected the white corrosion from her battery and sold it to one of her junkie friends as heroin..Said friend then shot the battery corrosion in her vein, and nearly died..Sounds like a Florida tale, but no, happened up north..The neighbor did receive a lengthy prison sentence…Moral of the story, keep your terminals clean, don't do heroin, don't trust hot blondes, all valuable lessons…
Getting unnervingly close to shorting the battery terminals with your wrench there while working on it. Would recommend you take more care to prevent that happening.
I put the plastic cover over the opposite terminal, while working on one of them, helps remove the chance of that happening.
