I vehemently loathe working on cars outside on a yard or on a parking lot. I mean sometimes you have to do it. No other option. But it still sucks every time. At least you had nice weather which is nice.

My 2003 Town Car. The problem started with erratic door locks, interior lights and, the car alarm not working as well as no keyless working. Then later:
While driving the open door warning light comes on with an accompanying beep. At times I get the beep without the light; it is a brief signal that sometimes repeats over and over. At times I can hear the locks shift, like when I start driving but forget to lock the door. At times the inside light would come on like I had opened the door. This is an intermittent problem and it won’t stop. What would be your diagnosis?
I changed my fuel pump, my fuel filter, fuel regulator box under right side tire, red fuel button in trunk, changed crank sensor, basically changed everything that has to do with the fuel, and carb reves up but then sputters out like there is no gas pressure. What could this problem be? It's driving me crazy.
I had this happen on my 03 Grand Marquis, I used a nut and bolt to put it back on. Now I can just tighten the bolt if it happens again and no need to worry about a broken rivet

That rubber band comes from the factory, and the only way to install that lock actuator is to remove the door latch and installing them together
The Ford door lock actuators have a high failure rate, I bet someone was in here before but didn't install it quite right, so it fell off, lol. I replaced the front two on a Mercury Sable before, and it's a literal nightmare to swap because all of the latch stuff is behind the door skin and you can't see anything. And all the rods are held with ancient plastic clips designed by satan.

Eric O, if you like a challenge, how do you open a door that doesn't unlock/lock and the door handle is unhooked/ broke on the inside. Its like its locked but cant open. The door lock post is jammed and will not go up or down…

Very common problem on the Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury's, I had a Grand Marquis and had to perform the exact same repair on both front doors

Good job. I own 2007 Lincoln Town car. These cars are made to last for years. I currently have 401000 miles on it. Still strong and running wild on the roads. I will probably buy the last year production model 2011 next year. Low mileage hopefully can get black on black.
