My OCD wants that number 8 exhaust bolt fixed………
Aside from your GMC fixation you’re a brilliant guy. 🤣
extension on and extension I guess size really does matter
why is the engine there?
Good to see that that company cares about there vehicles and so dose the mechanic
Easy, clean your dam car before you take it to the shop.
Do you ever use a little anti seize on the spark plug threads?
Nice and Shiny!
Its only an LS………more pry bar
The people who design some of these vehicles should be compelled to do all spark plug changes ,free of charge . It might make them think of the mechanics a bit more.
Looking at that engine and the limited access it would seem beneficial to have some one with small hands on the team, either a Smurf or a gynaecologist
I noticed that your thermometer was still in the a/c vent while you were test-driving it. Did you retrieve it?
COFFEE STAT!!!
Ray your a good man and trainer to listen to someone vent while your working on a vehicle. Sometimes it's much better to let other vent so they can move on with their day and then you know that you have helped them have a better day. I wish I had you as a trainer when i was learning my mechanical training. You explain exactly what your doing and what you need to be doing so everyone knows how to do it right. I really appreciate the way you train and love your video's.
5-6k bill on that van
Goodcontent
Hav the owner get a plastic grocery bag and have them gather their belongings that get in your way.
That doghouse was disgusting. I drove E-250 and Transit 150’s service vans for twenty years. I wouldn’t take them in for an oil change without cleaning the cab first. Everything I kept up front got put in a box and moved to the back. You should have used a trash can.
Great job great video.
I always enjoy when your looking for your glasses, and you are wearing them, or even better that 10mm socket is no where to be found, it in your hand…. LMAO
Acceptable is not what your paid , perfect. 5 on both wheels should be actually done.
I read a study that 78 % of people don’t trust places that take your car in a building where you cannot even see it and work on it and tell you you can’t go to your car and they give you the , our ins company will not let customers go back there too even see there cars. Bull. The ones that tell you that are liers and will cheat you and some will break stuff to get you to pay them to fix what they broke. The dealerships are the worst of all .never get your car fixed at a dealership. It’s twice as expensive and they are the biggest thief’s out there.
It shouldn’t matter how long it is in the shop , it’s just fixing it correctly.
His wife told him that one
20 hours of labor + parts… Well, the man knows he got what he paid for and then some.
We got my neighbor's old car — that needed work — "free."… an 01 Toyota Camry. After about $3,000 in parts and labor, we got a virtually new 200,000 mile car… Now, 75,000 miles later, still going great. Worth every penny.
When you know your shop and have good machinery to start with, you can't go wrong. (Still, it's only a machine so get AAA towing insurance, eh.)
I be charging 20$ extra for removing all the crap out of the way in the cabin before even beginng to do the work!
Bet the guy who uses that van hasn’t been down the bottom of that dustbin for yrs🤣🇬🇷
Suggestion as to the "personal items" left in the vehicle when you have to move them to gain access, place the items in a container with a note stating it's impossible for you to put things back where they were. 9 times out of 10, most items don't need to be in there anyways. Give them a chance to purge their items.
Just a suggestion from an old man that has wrenched almost my entire life. When installing spark plugs get yourself a piece of 3/8 rubber fuel line about a foot long or so and slip it over the end of the plug and use that to start threading the plug in. Thanks for shedding some positive light on a trade that has been historically considered to be performed by mostly scam artist. Nice job Kid!
Have a Great Day!
Did you pop the hood to facilitate heat dissipation whilst removing the plugs from the dog house ?
It cracks me up how you throw sexual innuendo in wherever you can..
Engineers grip, you can't see it but close your eyes and you can feel it. This is rare as most people can't do it. Something learned not given, some can and some can't . Best way to work it is close your eye's and literally just feel it. Not easy. Finally you got to show the wheel alignment process. Catching up so much to watch and fun to do so.
Really enjoyed this. Watching a whole series of repairs on one vehicle makes for a good video.
Why are people so nasty
Mammoth job. 20hrs. He may have paid all in one, but it will be Tax Deductible, so he's probably not bothered about cost. Great series Ray.
You don't forget to have. A. Great Day
Great job, very detailed. This is irrelevant but if the customer wanted the plugs changed they should have cleaned out the doghouse for you. Lots of clutter.
How about putting the personal effects in a bag to keep them together? Such a strange vehicle to require access from the cabin for a basic service item such as spark plugs
LOL! hurts my arthritis watching you contort your hands for he plugs !! OUCH!!
Hey Ray did you do a complimentary exhaust stud install for the rear of the L manifold?
Eric
What happened to the anti seize grease on the spark plug threads?
I have a problem… I can't always find the second or subsequent parts. Is it possible to number them with the same title? I enjoy your teaching keep up the good work.
Its nice to see that their is still people that care about doing the job right the first time! Nice work Ray.
No coffe needed 😁
What is wrong with these people. As if the guy repairing your car wants to spend 5 minutes having to move all that crap from in his way to do some work.
You should start your own small shop. I did, 14 years ago. No regrets.
The money is the same, or better. The freedom, is priceless. Be your own man.
BTW I run a moto scrap yard. Good wrenches, they don't need to advertise ; )
Outstanding Ray !! Your skills are off the chart.
Why are there no bolts at the back of the exhaust manifolds at both sides?
How much was this service in total O.o
