In this video I swap out the factory front struts on this Mazda MX5 Miata for a set of Koni Adjustables and also swap out the front sway bar for something a little more beefy. -Enjoy!

I thought you weren't supposed to tighten things up unless it's at ride height in the ground.
Nice tunes
Is this the same miata that you changed the clutch on & did a brake job? This car has gotten a lot done to it. Thank you for your videos
I just found a nice used stage1 set. Glad i found this video too! Thanks fire sharing!
Would the car needs alignment after replacing the front strut?
Common misnomer, but those aren't actually struts. Miatas have double wishbone suspension– no struts
This is why I hate customers. You change the sway bar but reuse the links and bushings. That's like buying a brand new car but put smoked tires on it just why
As if he paid someone to install those components. Lucky guy you are if you need to do this all day ๐
Thanks for the video.
Not a fan of the lower spring seats on those struts. 2 years in that silly little spring clip or the plate will rust away and POING.
The cailper covers, and then this. Are you working on kids cars? Just asking
In case no one has said it, "Welcome to South Main Mighty Auto Mods!"
Good job Eric
Why not replace the anti roll bar drop links? What are they 30 bucks? Seems crazy when you're installing a new anti-roll bar. Customers decision I guess…
BRO!! are you wearing your safety glasses while compressing that spring?
Except it's not a strut. It's a coil over shock. A strut takes the place of the upper control arm. Plus a strut doesn't have to have a spring mounted on it. Example, the fox body cars have front struts with no springs on them . Why does everyone think a strut is any damper with a spring on it?
What happened to the sheep baa when you use fluid film? That was my new favorite SMA sound effect ๐
On to Part Duo
I actually laughed out loud when you said "let's take a trip over to the spring compressor" and it cut to you at the bench vise
Good job Eric O.
i love my mx5,had a lowered one but found ride to hard
That thing's gonna corner like it's on rails! It's just begging for a V8 upgrade now … ๐
Flyin Miata!
Grand Junction, Colorado based company. They would modify Miatas with Vette motors and have the dealership I worked at do the programming. Saw a bunch of cool rides!
The Miata. Much more boring than people say. Violently under powered and smaller than a lawnmower. About as fun. But lucky tastes are different! Still a fun video! ๐๐
Flying Miata, nice!!!
Eric, it is really hard to hear you when you are describing the job. The air tools are loud enough. Have you just lost your daddy parts being around ladies all day? Lol.
Someone spends too much time on the Miata forums….Hey bro, you should put Koni adjustable coil-over struts and a big sway bar on there…Adds 20hp at the wheels, dude!
Thanks for not sayin "remember if I can do it, so can you" I certainly could not in my garage LOL!
A turbo is missing in this engine bay ๐
hey… what happened to the fluid film sound effect?
Your universal translator does a lot better job translating your exclamations into non-offensive words than mine did when I was a mechanic.
Very nice but my only concern is that spring clip holding the lower plate…that to me is a weak link in the design
If you are having all this done, why would you not replace the drop links and bushes at the same time?
21mm ratchet wuh rench is the 2nd thing to break then get lost, right after the 11 mm hex bit/allen key pin wuh rench.
A lot of the ball joints coming from China don't use a cotter pin to secure the nut. They just use a cheap nylon insert and it fails causing your ball joint to pop out when your doing 70mph losing control of your vehicle. Those Chinese must really hate us.
I have a Miata and I'm so glad this customer keeps bringing it in. Favorite car. Best mechanic.
Its a wacko youtuber calling….lol
In the hoha haha
Did you have lamb chops? No more baaaaa baaaaa for the film? ๐
It's kind of amazing how lower profile tires. stiffer anti-sway bars and stiffer springs can change the handling on these little rear wheel drive cars. I'm doing something similar to my Bertone X1/9 right now.
So this has nothing to with this video but I have an 2001 ford f350 and when my head lights are on my tail lights dont work I've replaced the head light switch the turn signal switch and checked all the fuses I even visually inspected all the wires. And I can't figure it out and since you work on quite a few fords wondering if you can point me in the right direction?
Flat rate Butcher.
when is the LS swap ?
Is anything in Upstate NY not rusted together?
Sheโs a highway cruiser now…
Too Fast, Too Furious
The guy buys all those parts and doesn't want to spend 20$ on the end links?????
We design every tool with a hammer side, just for Mr. O
