In this vehicle I have a look at a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander that came in with a service four wheel drive and air bag service required light coming on. Didn't take long to find an issue but did not find the root cause.... just yet 🤨 -Enjoy!

CARS THAT COME FROM AUCTION COULD HAVE ACCIDENTS THAT CAUSE FUSES TO BLOW.
Pls my outlander 2010 have gear problem, if l put it to drive, after 5sec it we cut and l check it with machine, the results bring low transmission fluid and to check some sensor and sucker, so l need the of the diagram and wire to trace sir
My question is- on my 2015 outlander, it has no A.B.S) for which I don't care it's a commuter work vehicle I want too get the abs traction light off the dash do I just pull that fuse the 10A or ?
Just a hillbilly diagnostic method: If you suspect a scuffed wire that is almost shorting to ground, remove the fuse and unplug the far end. Use the little HV power supply from a neon tube and slowly bring its voltage up until you hear the wire arcing. Then use your eyes and nose to find the arc. A little bit of a pucker factor as it could possibly arc over to another wire and that could be bad.
Awwhh…. Just throw a 30amp fuse in her & Send It! lol
Want to show us a blown (or not) fuse? Backlight it (with flashlight, off-axis). Shows up better than any other method.
yeah..i'm binge watching SMA lol
Oh….. Trinity is such a adorable girl….so sweet grown up around Daddy's workshop….how nice can she ask for.
That autel is nice Eric O
Wire taps are never good
Another new scan tool Eric??? I guess being a YouTuber has many bonuses!
Which one is this? A new autel one?
You only weigh 2.87lbs? 🙂
A Mitshubeechy virgin, eh?? Well, there's just some things memaw couldn't teach you, I reckon!
Interesting…
Do you have a new autel scanner ? what is the model number ?
And do you like it ?
Great job sir I'd like to know if you could steer me towards you circuit shunts for finding shorts
👍👍
lol new scanner again
You're couldn't be more correct!!! I'm the main electrical guy in our shop (I believe), and i know 1st hand having to give the I don't know answer SUCKS, especially when you can't duplicate. The the best you can do is be honest!
Damn this Mitsubshi has as many codes as the modern Mercedes Benz! 😂
I've been in the same situation, 05 f150 kept blowing fuses on me, apparently a previous guy who worked on it decided to tap into the 12v lighter plug and wire it to the driver side window acuator switches because it lost power through its native harness, found the main in the door harness had rubbed through and cut power, unless you fished it out you wouldn't know, pain in the ass.
YA it does keep you up at night wondering what caused the fuse to blow ?
The little one is getting big Eric O. Jeesh
Aww what a big girl she is now. How lucky you are to be able to see your children while you work!
I used to work the Mitsubishi account when I worked for Adesa. Omg they are total garbage IMO worst auto manufacturer on earth! I still cringe when I hear one start! I can hear their tinny horrible start up a mile away.
Waiting for part 2.
Looking forward to part 2…. wondering if the cause of the 10A blowing was found🤔🤔🤔
Mitsushitty would be a better name.
It just needs a fuse upgrade Eric. I put at least a 25 back in there.
I'm going to guess a harness loose underneath and rub or melt-through on exhaust, driveshaft, axle, etc….
awww @ the "dading" part
fuse looked like it was blown rather violently with a large sudden short, vs. long melt time of smaller over-current event. but what do I know 😛
Oh those electrical gremlins can be real pain in the tail.. Had a 1981 Olds Cutlass keep frying the diode pack in the alternator. Put like 5 alternators on it would test perfect good charge good bla bla bla and then bam week later not charging again. I traced wires over and over could not find anything. Well long story short again tracing wires following the loom that runs from the left to right headlights I find a pinched main hot on that loom under a bolt by the top radiator plate cover as someone must have been replacing the water pump or something and that wire got caught under a bolt. Crazy thing is it never blew a fuse but obviously now I know what was going on, it was when they turn on their heads lights that was creating a short blowing the alternator. I never would find it because I worked on the car in the day time and never turned the headlights on to see the draw. Anyway I hate wiring issues on cars as they can be a real challenge to find..
Eric, how many of those diagnostic tools do you have? It seems like almost every new video you publish you use a different one.
Are these all yours or are they test samples from the distributor you can use and give your opinion on?
I'm wondering why you didn't take amp reading of that circuit? I know, you know how.
I replace fuse all the time on dealers cars from Constantly jumpstarting because they cheap asses won’t replace the battery
Sooner or latter you will learn to stop buying these auction cars. On second thought go ahead and buy them it will give us more of your videos to watch. Thanks for the videos !
is there a part 2?
Had a similar issue with a 2016 Rav4 recently. ECU IG 3 7.5A intermittently blown. That particular fuse fed no less than 6 systems.. Obvious symptoms included electric power steering, ABS, HVAC control all innop. Power distribution diagrams only identified the systems, not the wires. Had to find the fuse in the diagram for each individual system to identify wires and connection points to start looking for the issue. To cut the story short, connector for the laser cruise/front park sensors sub harness, neither optioned on this truck, was left uncapped in the left front bumper area after some previous body work. Connector developed green death, just add water and, voila! Pop goes the fuse. Look forward to part 2…
Put in a 20/a fuse and look for blue smoke? No smoke = no problem. Your customer is a used car salesman, after all.
Like your new black hat cool beans..
So where did that aftermarket stuff get its power? Maybe fuse 17?
That looks like some super duper newerer Autel you got there and it looks like it's mighty fast. How are you liking it so far? I'm assuming you traded up from the 908. Did your old 908 give you any battery problems? We have the 908 at work and I liked it before the battery shit itself. I've heard that some 908's have awesome batteries and the rest, not so much.
Only thing after market in my 93 legacy is the radio
was it crashed
Just move along folks,…absolutely No Brakleen to see here !
Chasing gremlins 😖
American off-roaders are more hardcore, needed more than 10A worth of FWD.
To much draw on the wrong picture from aftermarket blah blah. Moved the aftermarket and didn't change the fuse? Some many questions
