This is a very common issue on these Nissan 2.5. Although it can be mechanical engine timing, cam phasers etc. The majority of the time it is a simple solenoid. It would be my suggestion to swap out all three (intake, lock and exhaust) solenoids but the choice is yours. -Enjoy!

Thank you my friend good job always learn from your quality videos
If mine ever throws this code, it'll be the last thing it did before the big engine fire.. geezus!!
Run from this engine!!
Its better to be Ginger then Gilligan if you don’t want to have things go sideways. Like you said at the end , poor maintenance, low oil etc causing lots of issues on VVT systems . Any solenoids I have changed are sticky because of metal fillings or gummy and varnishec from old oil.
By the way I just found you in upstate NY. I don’t mind driving from Toronto
Hey thanks for this video. My 2016 rogue also 2.5L gives P0300. It was intermittent when starting. I changed spark plugs and coil pack. Now it’s always throwing P0300. Any idea to fix? Fixid obd scanner said oxygen sensor but multi meter test is okay. It also suggests camshaft position sensor. Feel like I’m shooting in the dark.
Hello, I was wondering if you can guide me by finding the location of the transmission preasure sensor if posible I found out that's my issue got a code p0841 and thought I'd just swap the preasure sensor but just can't seem to find it. Thank you for your videos.
Golden nugget of advise there for every diyer “ if you’ve more than one bolt left, throw the rest away”..so it’s your fault!!!
Do i need to run a computer after install or is it plug and play ?
Ahh yes, the classic have to take off the rear wheel, plus the back seat in order to get to the solenoids… Must have taken engineers many many long nights thinking of a way to make life harder for everyone
Nice vid, you alerted me to the fact there was more than one, which Alldata and Identifix did not, but I just lifted the vehicle up on a lift, removed the right front tire, remove the piece of plastic out of the way, and you can get to all 3 with no issues.
Really enjoy you guys, I am getting ready to rebuild a 1991 Pathfinder my daughter bought new when she was 16. Now she wants it back new. She put 350,000 mi. on it so needs a rebuild. Keep up the good work, thanks again. KR
I have a 2011 sentra with a 2.0 does that have the same design?
also, i cannot find a place to check the fuel pressure
Please tell me what all kinds of codes would you get besides the 2 you got that this code be the fix? I have a 2016 2.5L Altima i have rough idle missing big time, codes po130 po132 po300, po303 po304, po171 but i have replaced MAF, A/F sensor , 02 sensor, air filter, pcv, spark plugs, but hAVE 228K miles never have replaced the CAT and i used to get the po420 but have not seen it in a while, i have also replaced, alternator, battery, belt., tranny, constantly on top of oil changes, etc. I use my car to make a living and i have been stranded at home for a month PLEASE HELP
Such garbage all these solenoid and sensors that stops your vehicle from running…I mean all engine just do one thing…. burn gasoline!! ..stupid governments…
Miss Marie's road kill special Collin lives to cruise another day!
I have learned the problem is I (I notice you do the same) say come on baby when it is disassembly time. We are confusing the part. Its. Come off baby. You want it off the car. Come on baby is for reassembly.😉
✌✌✌✌👍👍👍👍
Having the same issuie, P0300 Code, took it to a shop and they replaced the head gasket's and the valve cover, New Coil and plugs, Issue is still present, not sure on where to go from here, The car will no longer start, the problem i experienced, were rough idle, Ever time i give it has it jerks and shakes, when in cruise controll it shakes and jerks, Im lost, Paid this shop over 800$ to fix it. Any ideas?
Is this the QR25DE
I had to replace these on my moms Buick LaCrosse. 50K on it and it’s having issues. What a pile of junk. No thanks. I’ll stick with my Toyota Tundra
great video E.O !!
“Contact” is for hand propping;
Use “Clear” for electric, cartridge, inertia, type (ICE) engine starts.
Nissan has never been the same since turning into Renault 😕
Sockets always land in geographic center when dropped
Military recruiters must have also been car salesmen in their previous life, trust me.
Welcome back. Hope your New Year is safe, happy and prosperous. Always enjoy your videos.
AAAHHHH! SMA withdrawal. I need a video! new brakes, dead battery, no radio; I don't care.
Mr O are you getting tired of making videos.
And the special guest?
Eric, my brother owns a 2006 GMC ENVOY DENALI. 5.7l Nice vehicle but the switch burned out twice and keeps bogging down having no power at full throttle from his description. I drove the vehicle and it ran fine. It happens to him all the time. He took it to a mechanic that put a code reader on it and told him it had so many codes that he couldn't work on it. I only have a simple reader myself. My question to you is, have you worked in any of these and what common problems have you found?
How many 2.5 engines did Nissan make? I have an '06. It doesn't have that many solenoids. Maybe not even one. Just have an intermittent problem. If it doesn't clear up right away, it might a few blocks to start running right. I'm slowly going through small problems. Bad rear wheel bearing, restored headlights and put clear bra on them, replaced the after market valve cover so no smoke on start up, went through a quart of oil every 400 miles. Hopefully that might clear up the CC below threshold. sometimes that code clears itself. High beams, added fog lights plug and play. Just love the pull your parts places. Fuel tank sensor bad, unfortunately have to replace the fuel pump as a unit.
I once flew with a plane load of Altimas
Ill make it easy… dont buy a nissan
Love your joke about Google+
My 2012 nissan altima 2.5S had the gasket for one of these fail. Pain in the ass.

While your there Eric – pull the entire motor and transmission and throw that bitch in the garbage.
What truck make and model do you dread working on the most and why?
Great video as always Dr. O., I saw an Elf run by at one point early on. Hopefully, Scotty Kilmer will watch your videos and learn how to do a great video without sounding like he is a pitchman for Flex Seal. Keep it up, wishing you and your family a great 2021.
With all the electronics on cars and expensive car analyzers why wont the analyzers just tell you what part is bad.
Eric ever try the white diapers? They work real good on oil, they'll hold alot
Sweet video. What you do in an hour would take me all day.
Thank u. Great video. Where is the link for the other video u mentioned?
Love your Videos! Just watched project WJ Videos, I must have subscribed right after they originally where uploaded. how about an update did you figure the handling issue out? I'm working on a rusty 04 WJ now. Thanks happy new year!
"Just a little bit of tension on it". "Tension"? When you are supporting it from below? That is "Pressure", Eric. "Tension" is when you are pulling.
