Thanks for the bit on bench bleeding. I need to do a complete brake job on my antique ford.
Lol title text here. "SUPER FLUID MASTER EXCHANGE!"
Nice name-brand tires! Yikes!! Of course the sales guy said they're made by Michelin, right??
Seriously, PLIERS, on a brake fitting?!? Get yourself a set of tubing wrenches!
The blanker on the 3 Bl your working on is for a clutch pipe. The mazda 5s had a remote reservoir, funny enough we use to change alot of the cross over pipes on the 5s here in England… Joseph
Dirka Dirka LOL good one Ray..
the thumbs up click it or ticket lol
Too bad it wasn't the Mazda speed 3 with a turbo, that is the fastest car in its class he would have really felt the zoom zoom then.
you A change new the old brakes when they are still have so many mils to go on them. they look like new brakes.
You didn't lube the pins and slides
New audio set up hurts ears
Nice to see a Mazda with the FoMoCo callipers.
I had a rear drum brake drum done at Firestone one time and somehow they broke the master cylinder. Went to drive it out and brakes went almost to the floor. They were going to let me leave like that! I pulled back in and told them it was unacceptable! It wasn't broke when I came in! They tried to bleed some more but didn't work. After threatening to turn them in to the BBB they ended up replacing the master cylinder on their dime! 😁😁
the rotors….they are blue, so you know they are good.
I always used to put silicone grease where the pads slid!😲😲 And grease the slide pins also!😁😁
Why do they make those belts so damn hard to change!🤬🤬 My son's ford doesn't have a tensioner, it is stretch to fit!!🤬🤬 I was able to change the one on my 2001 Buick easily!!😁😁
No anti-seize, no lubing the slider pins or areas where the outside pad slides? After all is extras you do for customers-fixing DIY jacked up wiring-I was a tad disappointed.
I loved the drive by doo do doo
What the hack r the ones who designed the engine compartment was on meth I do say
Forgot the fluid film on the hub to slow down additional rust from forming.
You are working on a BRAKE system ..lol not a tranny , does the flush principle still apply? 😂😂
Mazda 3 …. Ford Escape … all the same 😂 I take it she goes to a private school ? our public schools no longer teach Cursive writing . Keyboard or scribbles will be all a Blue state will teach your children .
where is your shop in sarasota? I would love to bring my car in for an eval!
Um disreguard the name.. or find it fun! Made it when i was 14 😅 Ray I'm a new subscriber but I love your diagnostic processes, I'veenjoyedand learned copius amounts from you! BUT It's a MASSIVE ask but if any of the community has a pink Cadillac in the vegas area, I would love to know. My best friend is getting married and him and his fiance wanted an Elvis wedding, but with the recent Estate crackdown on Elvis weddings, that's not an option for them. But like their strong will.. they won't be turned away! It's gonna be a Vegas small chapel wedding that's all black. A Johnny Cash wedding if you will. What they don't know is that as best man and God father to their daughter.. I'm gonna show up dressed as Elvis! That might be enough.. but I'm hoping the amazing auto community can pull through and show a pink Cadillac to just blow their minds. Any help would be eternally grateful and never forgotten
You should leave a list of the tools you use. I could use some.
Just to let you know Ray, calligraphy and cursive are 2 different things!!
thankyou Ray,,,a very thorough job,👌👍
I want to know what that socket looking sanding disk is. I like that you can sand the stud bolts on the car! ALSO… Interesting that a Mazda has FOMOCO calipers?
you need a set of 3/4 round closed end wrenches to not round the brake line bolts. But good job. Couldn't have done better myself. I like your upside down brake fluid bottle in the reservoir.
That outlet under the fluid level sensor is for a Mazda with a manual transmission and that is for the hydraulic clutch it uses the same reservoir for fluid supply and goes to the clutch master cylinder
Oh hey,Ford brakes.
Ivan @Pinehollow auto diagnostics had one of these with similar issues but his was bad abs pump.
You need to stop listening to idiots on the internet 😂
I'm excited about this video. I'm about to operate on the cylinder and servo of my 40 Yr old Capri 😁
I don’t understand why you didn’t use a tubing wrench to at least break the fittings loose. Because, If you’d have used a tubing wrench rather than an open end wrench you wouldn’t have rounded two of the six flats on that fitting. Making it easier and quicker during the bleeding process by not having the burred flats interfering with the open end wrench, at certain points. Just a friendly observation between mechanics. Please don’t take this critique negatively and get angry. But I’ve noticed that you never seem to use tubing wrenches. Why is that? Because, as you are well aware, they’re far superior in their gripping ability, due to their design, and will not round off fittings. Simply curious.
Laffing for real at headlight mumble….aka platypus
Lighter fluid is fantastic for removing duct-tape from your car.
Grease slide pins?
Good video, not a mazdaspeed. They only come with manual transmissions.
Who else automatically quoted Team America after Ray said durka durka?
Good old Furd calipers on a Mazda 😀
"I'm using the pad not prying no the piston" no, and not prying the brake disc either, not any more. 🙂
Wait this is actually your shop?
Imagine having a spring tensioner? Couldn't be me with my hyundai accent 2008 w a/c lmao
3 belts, all manual tensioning 😑
Flare wrench, ratting up those nuts with pliers is amateur hour and you are just setting up the next guy for failure.
I drove a new Ford van in '72 for my employer. The brake pedal went to the floor. Had to keep pumping it to make it stop. The dealer said it was too new and a replacement part was months away. That was a fun ride.
surprised he's not using a flare wrench on those brake lines
Did you adjust the hand brake?
Even the rotors are blue…. so you know they're good.
I like the FoMoCo stamp on the caliper 🤣🤣. I do know Ford owns a good part of Mazda.
Why would you not just turn the rotors if they weren’t bad
First person on YouTube to properly show how to bleed d master cylinder on a car well done
Ray
What is that spray you use on the poles ?
Ray that is a ford design , they might said Zoom zoom but it a ford product , if you look on late model than you can tell is a Mazda model , Mazda been screw them self for years that why their quality went sour , now they charge higher prices and their interior is superb, every manufacture cut corner screw them self by listen to a looser doing business is by cut corners. Another thing about rotors mark you see on surface is bad quality brake pads , either they cheaply made metallic with cooper not mixed properly with Fibers and Mazda don’t used Torx bolts they only used 10 mm on all Asian import , only US used torx Ford/GM/Chrysler
You could use brake line clamps on all 4 brake hose to see if it is at the calipers or at the master to
Man southern brake jobs looks so nice to do
Hey Ray!
I’ve never seen you use a“Tube Wrench” on flared fittings?…favoring that “Parrot Wrench” here.
Do you have/use them?
That cap'd off fitting on the breakfluidcontainer is for the clutch in a stickshift
How much is brake clean there I cringe every time I see you use it like that I paid over $15 a tin for some the other day that doesn’t seem like it works half as well
I had to laugh out loud!! Let's see if these brakes work, just before the car rolls out into traffic. :-))
Can you a link for the wire brushes you use?
Your new mic is killing me brother, that loud background nearly makes my ears bleed.
Seriously appreciate the daily uploads really help
I like the stereo, but I think this new mic picks up too much background noise. It was hard to hear your voice in some places.
I'm actually surprised the engineers haven't switched to uni-directional belts yet.
the drive by Doo–doo-Doo-doo-doo got me…LMAO!
Johnsen's SDS sheet doesn't show any water as an ingredient.
Are you supposed to use brake clean on brakes???
I have a quick question…why does every damn car in Florida has a TPMS malfunction? Does anyone maintain there vehicles down there?
It's downright weird to see brake clean being used on actual brake parts
Great video love the brake cleaner effects and segment 😂😂😂😅😅
Brake master cylinder goes out after 12 years? The factory master cylinder on my 1986 Nissan d21 truck finally went out….. last year.
Brake pads looked to be in excellent condition. Wasteful to change them out.
Another reason I hate wrenching lol stripping bolts lol
Ray gave it the "NeeHaaa"!!! That's how you get r done.
VERD DER FERK HEADLIGHT
Where's Pee-Tah?? Would of been the perfect little helper. And down!
What type of rotors you usually use. I mean coated ones or non coated?
"Let's design a car where the mechanic has to pull the engine, headliner, and steering column in order to change the master cylinder", said Lucifer to the Automotive Engineers' Convention.
Every shop needs a O Peter for a helper 😉
Hey Rainman Ray the Brake clean usually says don't spray on runner or plastic parts.😬
I'm really getting tired of all the stupid commentary. if it has nothing to do with the problem, just saying.
hey where you get that post cleaner for the drill ?
I love my Battery charger, it has 3 settings, slow charge, fast charge and engine start
Nice to see safety glasses today..Gotta protect ur balls..
Broke one of my bleeder valves off my car last week doing this. Thank god it was tightening and not loosening
Mechanics are hung like calipers
lol he killed it
The ad places at the start of this video is an Mazda ad
Could not be bothered to put a rag? Just drip all the fluid all over the hoses and components, nice lazy work bro
I sensed no sarcasm about plastic screws at all
Nothing to see here lol
Hey ray, I have a 2014 Malibu ltz, it’s approaching 100k miles, do you think it’s a good idea to have the trans fluid and filter changed? As well as the spark plugs?
You only use Super Blue DOT 4 right???
I couldn't deal with that annoying phone long! Why does that have to ring in the shop when there are office personnel to answer it?
