Loved that intro brother
doo dee doo dee dooooo!
I agree w your bearing being greased. Yes I pack it as they deserve every chance at living a productive life. Bravo, like your stuff.
The homage to Eric @ SMA was nice. Probably why YouTube recommended your channel to me. Enjoy all the commentary and the detail.
Why did you install the bearings before cleaning the backing plate and components.. isn't there a possibility of contaminating the bearings?
Ray what tonage is the press you are using? 30 ton? Also Allen keep the faith bud. I read your comment and it hit me hard.
"C-clip goes like so" — might want to mention that one side is chamfered.
Also do you think there is a fella out there named Phil plug? I'm sure there is.
If you start talking about bbq then there will be trouble lol
I didn't know you had haters and trolls. That being said everything you do is WRONG n not right 😆
Bleeder Gravity!!
Ray, I worked at a Chevy dealership for about 6 years. Just thought I’d give you a quick fast and easy tip. The next time you pull a c clip axle out, stop at the end of the axle and use the button on the end of the axle to hook behind the seal and pop it out with the axle. Axle and seal in one move.
Love the content! Could do without the annoying sound effects, yes the phone will ring. No need to mock it. So annoying!
I've replaced a lot of axel seals over the years. One car owner stood over me and screamed at me when I went to grease the seal before installing the axel to "not grease them as it will contaminate the 90 weight axel oil". I told him it wouldn't but said if I did, he wouldn't pay me. I had him sign a piece of paper that he didn't want grease on the seal and I wouldn't warranty the work without greasing the seal. When he came back 2 weeks later with a new leak, I told him he had to pay for the re-work and I would grease the seal before installing the axel or take it somewhere else. He paid in advance, I greased the seal and the car ran the next 5 years without a problem until he finally traded it in on something new.
He still wanted to argue about the grease and I told him that little wouldn't hurt anything and protected the seal until the oil got out there. According to him, some old guy that did their family car work told him it would contaminate the axel oil. Bull, and he was happy after the redo. I was also happy to charge him twice for the same job.
I’ve always used an acorn nut put on backwards and used my air gun.
Awesome intro man.
I enjoyed watching you replace these drumbrakes more than I did most netflix movies.
Wow, I've got to say, I loved that intro. Looked really good with that filter.
As a teenager, I thought nothing of pulling the rear or replacing a broken axel from drag racing. I must have been nuts !
Get a piece of fuel hose and slide it on the cap then put the other end in the diff. It'll keep it from getting as messy
That looks like an Eaton differential.
"That came out wrong didn't it"… Dude, almost everything you say comes out wrong🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh yeah, I have a good suggestion for you about that brake line that connects to brake cylinder. Take a GOOD socket and use a green cut off wheel to cut out enough of the socket that let's it go around the nut. Maybe a quarter inch or whatever. You can also weld it to a wrench or other handle for ease of use.
Why are you using pliers instead of the brake clip tool? The tool makes it go much faster.
As an interest how much side force is exerted on those c clips during acceleration and or turning as it seems very precarious that that is all that is holding the half shaft in ,so basically how much side force can they take or more precisely how much side force is exerted on this componen.
Is that a stock rear end ? It looks new to me or shiny”er” than I expected just curious
Hey there Ray my names Ray, love ya videos I learn so much and absolutely love the doodododoodoo when the phone rings lol random but just gotta put that out there. 💪🏾🤙🏾
Hey Ray what about packing the bearings?
Loved the Crocodile Dundee reference, Ray.. :p
That is officially the cleanest differential in the county, I'm also amazed at how easy you made those drum brakes look
what knife is that. looks like a nice little shop knife.
Ray has THE best work approved ways of saying "i dont give a shit" to his co-workers.
If you have to explain what caulking a diff cover means, you must have some SERIOUS NARCISSISTIC ASSHOLES commenting on your repairs. I feel sorry for people like that because it must be pure hell living in their head. Keep up the good work, the intelligent amongst us understand you.
I love the smell of Break Cleaner in the morning xD
buy a pump to not waste the rear end oil.
I just wanna know what gnarly knife you have? Keep up the good work, i learn a lot from your videos!
thats not a knife
The way you finger the lube into those holes… 😂
Awesome Video. Thanks.
Tip for when you change a brake cylinder or a caliper hold down the brake pedal it won’t leak and air won’t enter the line
getting fancy with them intro's
Crystal clear explanation of what was happening with the axle and bearings.
The best part about trolls is spinning them vigorously to make their hair stick out in a circular fan.
I may be a bit hungover but I don't see the link to the brake drum video.
