where are the transmission ground wires located on a 2007 chrysler pacifica
Years ago, I made some huge mistakes on a vehicle with both low beams inop. First mistake, assumed there was an issue with common wiring, ground or blown fuse. So I started tearing a bunch of stuff apart to access the fuses and wiring test points and went to and from entire circuits testing, even went to plugs and tested bulb wiring, leaving bulbs connected and in assembly. Checked entire circuit both headlights. 2nd biggest mistake was missing an important step: take bulb out and look at it. First one I pulled out, 8 hours later after getting every point accessed and tested, pulled bulb out, low beam filament broken. Replaced and it lit, went to 2nd bulb and same thing. Got paid 15 minutes diagnostic time and 9 minutes for bulb replacement. Wasted ton of time unpaid for 2 blown out bulbs. Another thing I messed up on was keep testing instead of listening to the meter. Would have saved a ton of time to see at bulb connector battery voltage drop test under load and it eliminated any more testing and only thing it could be was the component faulty. But I started at fuses, then positive side to bulb, then ground side. Listen to what the testing tool is telling you instead of assuming or going into a problem thinking only one thing it can be even though test proves otherwise. I went in looking for where the wiring was corroded or broken and missed it, even after seeing battery voltage going in and none coming out. Could have just done voltage drop across the 2 wires and saved 8 hours time and a ton of embarrassment.
The electrical systems in modern cars are a complete and utter nightmare to diy
I remember this being mentioned on the horn and stereo, wipers, ac, video good video with the 103 crusty ground Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
Those old Pacificas were electrical nightmares!
Great information
I think I have the same thing going on with mt 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 right low beam. I think someone has previously replaced the socket.
Lmao. First you helped me fix a bad grounding on my 06 Pacifica, now I'm back for the left low beam headlight.
Great video. Thank you
What fuse is for the headlights ?
Damm! this was a grate video!!!!. Thanks.
This is awesome because that's exactly what is wrong with my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500…high beam works no low beam on passenger side. After an $1800 estimate I just adjusted the level of the high beams. Been driving that for almost two years. Didn't want to buy a new TIPM? But now I'll check this out to see if a faulty ground is the problem…Thank you for your channel!!!
Thank you for this video, I'm about to work on a similar issue with my moms recently purchased 2006 Pacifica, this gave me a solid base line.
Yep, grounds can be interesting to find, worst without the wiring diagram .
You da man!!
by the way, the parking lights work on left side/drivers side, but the high and low beams dont
we have a 2008 , and no issues except the front drivers side headlight. bulb good. someone is telling us to replace the integrated power module. Is there any thing else you would suggest that would be simpler. , or how to verify this is the problem.
I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty that is having the same problem (driver's side low-beam out, but all other lights work). I replaced the bulbs and checked the fuses – all good. I'll have to get in there and check the grounds. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for making this video! My right blinker went out, then a few days later my left low beam, replaced the bulbs and nothing! Saw this video and had my husband try it and everything is working!!!! Keep up the good work! God bless!
Really appreciated this video. I have exactly the same problem with my 2002 Buick Regal GS, no left side low beam, all other lights on the left side worked. 1st I took the right side housing and plugged into the left side to see if it was the housing wires. The right side worked as intended, so I knew it was not the housing wires. Now that I see this, I will start checking where that low beam is supposed to be grounded. Thank you so much.

2006 chrysler pacifica d2s headlights do not work with the engine running only when it is off
Once again a South Main Auto video helped me to fix a repeat problem, you da man! Friend of mine kept taking her 2008 Corolla for no driver side low beam,(3x). They replaced the bulb 2x and the whole light assembly and still not fixed. I pulled the battery out so I could give the connector and the wires a โEric check wiggleโ. Confirmed Connector was corroded from battery acid. Spliced in a new connector, heat shrunk and taped and applied dielectric grease where needed. Cleaned off the battery terminals and under neath the tray was the corroded ground terminals, so probably other issues waiting to happen. Thank you
Were to find those wire diagrams?
tried replacing my bad low beam pig tail…. then i had no power …… watched this video and as expected either i have a bad ground or a broken wire… ill find the problem n fix it and report back… eric o for 2021
thanks. it fixed my problem only one side was not working. low beam everything else worked. ๐. Remember If I CAN do it YOU CAN do it ๐ฉโ๐ง
So far, I've wired new grounds for the right turn signal, left turn signal, right driving light and most recently, the horn on my 2005 Caravan.
She's still not in the crusher! (yet)
Could you let me know where G201 is? I fixed the three ground post's that you show in the video, but I am still having issues with my front turn signals not working.
Nice job
"One" hand makes light work!
Thank you Eric O! I thought for sure I'd be dealing with a tipm issue in my wife's 2011 Avenger. Thanks to your help I was able to track down my headlight issue to a corroded ground. You're the man!
1998 Honda Civic LX here. Exact same problem: Both high beams work, but only right low beam works. Both low beam fuses are OK. The problem started the night that I got an oil change. Coincidence? Or perhaps the ground or bulb's low beam filament got knocked loose?
What was the back probe that you used?
Also I have a Chevy Colorado that the headlights quit working. The fuel pump has no power and ignition wonโt turn off sometimes.
I know they have pass lock issues! Any ideas?
Great video very in formative and a great tech.
U r a true mechanic with a mind set of thinking and tracing down problems and not just throwing parts at something till u find what works. Wish more were like this, but it comes with guys and gals that have the mentality of putting the puzzle together.
Typical
You're a lifesaver. Same thing happened on my 2010 Avenger today. Though passenger low beam was defunct. 12v at the socket but no light. Every single forum post I looked at suggested a new TIPM, but figured since I had voltage, it may have been a ground issue. Hoping to track it down tomorrow, or at the very least, splice a new one like you said. Your videos are simply so helpful for the every day wrencher. Thank you!
Chrysler and electrical problems are hand in glove. It's just a matter of time before the gremlins show up
Helpful. Thanks!
That little munchkin Trinity!! Ugh.. why must kids grow up?? Sheba just a pup too….
Lol…wow that headlight assembly is so tight!! How do they expect a man's hand to fit in there?? Or totally break down the assembly to reach the bulb?? Engineers crack me up!!
Ahhh. This is the Pacifica mentioned in other vids… the bad ground, etc. Lucky for you, otherwise you would've had to call Trinity back to change the bulb for you๐๐๐
when you have a chance do you know where the head light and fog light relay is on a 07 monte. I fixed all of the wires and every thing but cant locate the relays for both because there not in the typical locations under the hood and the kick panel on the passenger side.
My mustang gt is out two i got no low but my higgs
what kind of shops do technical stuff like this? the shop i go to said they will only replace my one effected lights whole assembly for $2500… a whole new assembly wont even help if the problem lies in the relays or junctions.
You are the best !!
Hey guys what database do yall get yalls schematics from is it like alldata or something else
Having issue with no low beams in a 05 Pacifica. Ive changed both bulbs also change the control switch and ballast still no low beams. I check the ground and they all look fine. We also put a new battery in. Any one have any ideas what else it could be?
Pacifica's are notorious for having ground wire problems. Anyone still driving one would be very wise to check all the grounds and clean them. (There are videos of where they are located). Also Eric O could had made this job a ton easier by simply removing the battery and battery tray first. That gives you EASY access to those grounds.
Great Headlight Diagnostic Video. Thank You. Thumbs Up..
Some people binge watch Game of Thrones. I binge watch SMA. I guess this is Mrs. Oโs first appearance.
Awesome, patience is a virtue… ๐ thanks for posting.
