Another stupid design by Ford, having to pull the intake manifold to replace 3 spark plugs. My sister had this same type vehicle and had the spark plugs changed and over 300$ in labor plus parts. Over 340$ including spark plugs, she sold the car right after repairs. Really stupid design by Ford.
Had I known this little brake clean tidbit I could have saved the lock on my battery sensor clip instead of the zip tie replacement. On Dodge Journey the battery is up under the left front wheel. Engineers who do this should get the full Monty black snake whip treatment by loving customers who are just repeating justice for the many.
The modern tech really has to be skilled and patient.. working on locomotive, we had it easy regarding space.. we worked with enough voltage to blow our asses to Venus, but there was plenty of room at least.
You keep mentioning links above, but I don't see any links above anything on the page. Firefox, Windows 7, with adblock plus, might that be the cause of no link? Is the link in/on the video or above it? Thanks.
It's not the ad blocker, I disabled it, refreshed the page, nothing "above".
Ray, I’m not a mechanic, I don’t know a thing about fixing vehicles, but for some reason I watch your content and am subscribed. I appreciate your dedication, heart and honesty. That’s the reason I watch.
Nice to see another struggling reminds me of the struggles I have had. Perseverance is a great thing. Office multi tasking, this is tri multitasking this is not the office stuff.
Don't blame it on the engineers as they must work within the confines dictated by the design requirements. I do agree engineers should turn wrenches as part of their training blame thus one on the quality of the sensor supplier. Ford must be going to the same guys as GMs been using for the last 16!years
Hey man I been watching for a bit now. I do Insurance work so if you have any questions or anything as sometimes insurance will cover mechanical in certain situations

I'm sure the motor industry wants yo bring back child labour, why else would they make the spaces so tight?
Once again designed by a graduate of the university of "Fuck it. I don't have to fix it."
I cheered when you cleaned off that sending unit! I was hoping you would! 🥳 Stay safe.
What a sumbitch, good old Ford engineering.
Even you can barely see the damn oil sender but that is one sweet machine !
I have a toyota with 200,000 miles on it. I had no idea i'm supposed to change the oil filter.

the Las Vegas book makers were betting on the oil sending unit i was betting on you to win hahahaha
Self lubrication and anticorrosion system deleted.

I would've used some long nose needle pliers to loosen the oil sensor

Nice one Ray, you have the patience of a saint, that connecter would have sent me to a very angry place, love your vids

i get to put a trans in my 07… should be a blast
Monkey wrench for a monkey, perhaps! Lol
Drain the oil, then pull filter?
This part will never go bad therefore we'll stick it here……
Ok
Ford connectors. Add break clean, blow off break clean, spray with penetrating fluid, let soak to mins blow off remove..
Well they put that in a hell of a place aye? What size was that sending unit? Thanks for the video and your time on the battlefield !!

Previous life you were a dentist.
A 10 minute video on fiddling with a connector. Riveting.
was the old one bad? if not just teflon tape the original
I have watched a few of the videos from this guy and I can't believe he was ever a dealership level tech
Think you are having a bad day? Come watch this video.
This plug is the very example of why patience is key to be a good mechanic!

Hahahaha let's see how many tools i can get up this engines skirt.
😂 and it will take you back in time
This kind of shit is what happens every time I work on my own car. Good to see it isn’t just me.
Well, Rainman Ray, you certainly have more patience than me.
It's still a 3ltr. They piss oil everywhere.
It’s like you are performing surgery
I bet you are good with chop sticks
I kept yelling at the screen to spray the old sensor to clean it off. You finally heard me
If you know how the connector works, this is a five minute job.
Good old Ford. Making mechanics jobs easier every day.😡
I was yelling at the screen "Take the filter out"..lol
Of course we stay till the end, whataya thinkin?
oh yeah
Got to love the total illogic engineers utilize so often on so many things. As if you will never have to work on them.
Does anyone make a 12 point line wrench with a large opening? They are going to have to invent some new tools for this stuff
Damn connector !!!, I almost died trying to hold my breath for the 10 minutes of the video !
"Super easy" Barely an inconvenience!
Always good.
Seen this one… drain oil, pull filter off and you have better access to it…
Watching you fight that clip is why I pay a mechanic to do the work.
