But I'm playing with fire cuz that's the positive side. And that's metal. That's metal. It's all grounded.
So anyway, we'll pop this one off. That's the uh, the main cable that goes to the starter. I Think let's make sure that's not live. Nope.
come fix your car…

jokes on you i alr saw the original video aint gonna work on me hahaha!
It ain't a good job until you see sparks 😂😂😂
I had an uncle that had a bad battery in a pick-up. We tried jumping it and no luck. So we closed the hood. As soon as we did, the battery exploded. Opened the hood back up to find battery acid all over the engine compartment.
Always remove negative first
I jumped
and that is why you disconnect the negative terminal first
Ohhh!!! My goodness 😳!!!!!! Aflack will pay for your time..😂😂😂
God damnit I jumped
Folks always disconnect the ground or if changing the battery disconnect the ground first and put it back on last. Its pretty simple if you think about it.
Take the negative off first. No sparks
AWESOME
Nice try Ray but ya didn't get me this time..
Why are you playing with fire stupid
Merry Christmas, Ray and family.
😂
Your a funny guy ray
Well, what you do is disconnect the negative cable(s) first, that effectively remove ground
Ground= finds power power=finds ground
It’s simple when disconnecting a battery disconnect ground first then positive, reverse when hooking new battery up positive first then ground 🤦♂️ and to believe this guy is a mechanic see why he’s no long at last location 😂
Disconnect the negative first if it s negative ground system
We had a battery blow up in an EC225LP helicopter after it was left connected to a charging unit overnight.
I had a catalytic converter stop up. It caused the doughnut gasket to let go on the exhaust. The hot exhaust was aimed directly at the battery. It melted a hole in the battery and leaked acid everywhere. It took a couple of boxes of baking soda and a heated power washer to get it cleaned. I sold the car.😁
Hahahaha
Stop copying that s h I t from vice grip garage. 😢 sad
Over the years I have been threw 5 battery thermal events 2 while attaching battery charger, anther someone pushed my arm & I ground out, 4 took over job and tech installed cables in reverse, last one was super tight space and battery grounded out
😂😂😂
Absolutely got me! Sheesh.
Reeeee not funny rainman!😳
😂
Knew someone that checked his b😮attery using a cigarette lighter, kaboom
I learned about battery explosions the hard way. I had a motorcycle battery on the bench charging. Small battery, about the size of 2 bricks. Unhooking the charger, the battery exploded. Blew me (175 lbs.) off the ground backwards onto the hood of my wife's car, covering me and her car with acid. Showered, changed clothes, then at 11:00pm, 40ºF, I'm washing her car in the dark. Other than the mangled plates, the largest battery parts were quarter-size or smaller. Hydrogen and Oxygen do mix–too well. No fire, but the flash looked bright white just like lightning.
I melted a wedding ring all the way to the bone in the 70s doing the same thing.
😂
dodge put the battery under the driver seat and had a bar across the top of the battery so over time your weight will arc out any cause fires
Lauren had to come up with that one, when it did that in your video, I actually jumped and spilt my coffee 😅
You got me! Even though I guessed that MAY happen, it still startled me! :-O
Well done Ray! 🙂
I wasn't expecting that Explosion 💥
You Definitely got me Ray!🤤
LOVE your content Ray.. Always a great video
Why not disconnect the ground side?
you got me on that!
I’ll just start this by saying always uncork the negative first….always…even to kill power….!!!!
I don't have an exciting battery story, but in my early years I made the mistake of connecting negative first and shorting the wrench across positive. I yanked the wrench out so fast that I threw it across the yard. 😆
The only way I ever stop watching Ray is if he started a "Saab Story" series
Love it merry xmas Ray from the UK
Ain't Ray something??
RRRRRRREEEEEEE…. You can’t do that!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was about to crawl thru my screen and yell WATCH OUT, but the Car Gods were looking out for you. My yaehoo ex husband thought he'd be "cool" one day when i was charging the battery for my car, and test the charge by grounding the posts together with a combination wrench. I didn't get the words out of my mouth before the battery went up like a box of dynamite. Pieces and parts and acid everywhere.
Winner of the dumb you know what award.
Yeah, that startled me.
I used to work at a truck repair facility in South Sacramento, CA. I was working on a truck and my co worker had just brought in another truck for service. He had pulled the top off the battery box, under the driver side step plate, and he popped one of the cell caps off the battery to check the electrolyte level. As soon as the cap came off the battery blew up in his face. The entire top of the battery came off with a sound like a 12 gauge shotgun. He was not wearing safety glasses. The boss immediately got him over to the eye wash station and got him all cleaned off. Luckily he sustained no injury from the acid, or flying debris.
Zzzzzzzzzttttttttttt😂😂😂😂😂DAM!!!!
Where else would it be going to worry? Unless it loops back on itself for absolutely no reason, a second battery for the same reason, and the engine is off, that's not gonna be hot.
Are you sure you really want to tempt fate?
You made me flinch, no shit!
I was racing a buddy at like 1am in my 71 Satellite, he was in a pickup.
I was passing him doing 110 when all the sudden my entire windshield lit up on fire & went out just as quick. I pulled over & shut the car off. Popped the hood, battery acid everywhere.
The battery case was split down the side.
Went & got a new alternator & battery, never had that happen again. It had to be overcharging, lm guessing. I was about 18 & yes l did win the race 💥🔥
Now I have to change my t-shirt
Best ever! 😂😂
That explosion edit was fire!
Ig this Short is satire? Either way try harder next time. 😅
At least you didn't ark the wrench to the metal and post😅
You’re not playing with fire – you’re just another internet DICKHEAD that’s going to cause some ignorant person to hurt themselves 😡😡😡😡
It’s DC cupcake you will be aight
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Hahaha my heart skipped a beat 😂
That's why you should disconnect the ground lead first.
I'll be the first to admit.
You got me with that one lol.
(Edit)
My weirdest battery story for you.
Died on me, wouldn't take a jump from 3 different vehicles, tried another battery; nothing..left my battery in the cab overnight, threw it in the next morning.
Takes a jump and started up
