In this video I show the method I use to get a door open on a GM that is "stuck shut." I will admit they are not usually this easy and take a bit more "fiddling." Some days ya just get lucky ๐ -Enjoy!

This should be a safety recall on these cars. Had one (Pontiac Grand Prix same style latch) that the door was scratched up and I was going to replace the door anyway. I cut a hole in the door from the outside right where the latch was so I had full access to the door lock/latch and didn't matter what lever I pulled pushed or preyed on that door was not opening. Got out the 5 lb hammer and a pry bar and started smashing. Finally the door came open there was nothing left of the door lock/latch when I was done. This is a problem on the Buick Lacrosses also. The power door locks randomly work and the levers start to pull hard and doors wont open. Had to replace all 4 of them in my wifes car. Rant over.
About to try thisโฆ. Stand by for outcome and if it works Iโm definitely going to give you a patreon gift because you know how much the dealers charge
the ending is so funny
I don't have a camera like u
Where do I buy that camera? I have this exact issue right now
I'm having same problem with our 2010, drivers door is stick cant open from inside or outside
Good for you. Useless for everyone hoping to fix their problem.
Somebody munted the mechanism like that on the LH front door of a Commodore Crewman by trying to break in. I wonder if your customer suffered a break-in attempt. The car is a rescue I am fixing. The front RH door glass and rear LH door glasses were also damaged from attempts to lift them out of their tracks to get in. It was a workable trick with older Commodores until the window tracks were altered. It seems that there may have been a lockout. The groundplane connection in the key fob itself was corroded. The computer might have become confused and assumed a theft attempt on the car. Whichever, cleaning up the connection made the electric locks and immobiliser work again but the LH front door wouldn't budge. I managed to complete a break-in on the left front door by the braille method, a piece of wire and using the insides of the opposite RH door as a reference. I wish I had seen this video beforehand. Thank you for the videos.
My problem is, I don't do voices well……anyway great video!!!!!!as always
Best outro ever!
Now on the 4 door cars instead of having a camera u take the marksmen bottle of 3 in 1 oil and reach between the doors from the front of the back door and then take a Phillips screw driver and reach in from inside the back door and hit the latch screws with the Phillips screw driver and smack the screw driver with a hammer a few times and the door should pop open
Thans for the video we were trying everything to get a door open on a 2007 G5 and this did the trick
Haha…. loved the ending, but you spelt one of the words incorrectly….. It's, Thanks for "Waaaauchin"!!! lol
Thank You Sir for the Great Content.
No brake clean? that makes me sad
Did you lube the catch so it doesn't jam again ?
saved my ass again man. Thanks for being genius
What make is the USB cam ? Neat fix!
My 2009 Chevrolet Malibu has the same problem occur; it's probably all the same latch mechanisms.ย ย It's actually a dangerous situation.ย ย If you get in an accident it may not open and makes exiting the car a little bit of a problem, climbing over the console.ย I've had this problem also when the battery went dead while in operation.ย I'm surprised it never became a recall.ย maybe NHTSA should beย notified about it?
DOOR STUCK
What is the USB camera? My USB camera sucks its no where as clear as that
Reminds me of the deep sea videos with the drone mini sub
REV UP YER ENJINZ!
if you can do it….. i can kinda sorta do it as long as things don't go horribly wrong.
What scan tool do you use I'm looking for a good that can access just about everything
I mainly work on gm products
is White Lithium Grease spray (WD40) good for lubing up similar or the same parts?
Hands down the beat auto channel on u tube .
Eric – I'd love to see a service on a new Ford truck with the plastic oil and trans pans. Just something different and controversial.
Hey Eric. New subscriber here. Love your channel. I had a quick question. Have a 2014 Malibu 2.5L. Just hit 110k miles and manual recommends transmission fluid change at 97.5k miles. The fluid is pretty dark. Car shifts just fine though. Would you recommend just doing a drain and fill or flush. I'm always hesitant to do anything transmission related. Thanks Brandon
A manual "Outro"! Nice change of pace! Also, nice assist from Miss Marie!
Hey Eric, I remember seeing you wear this prismatic looking silicone ring way back in older videos. I was wondering if you know where I could get one or what it's called so I can find one. I can't seem to get the right search terms to locate one. I just really like that design
Eric your a great guy. Iโm sure many people appreciate your videos just as much as I do. You have a very likable character keep up the good work guy.
I do my Eric O voice anytime Iโm working on my family cars. The AutoZone people are tired of me saying โRemember viewers, if I can do it, you can do itโ. But since I keep buying tons of break clean, they put up with me.
I have that problem, except I don't have scope to look down there.
Anyone else catch the typo at the end? Not throwing any shade cuz Lord knows I make plenty.
Congrats On 300K
Your videos are entertaining, and very educational. I also like the way you interact with your family at work. How are Josh & Hannah doing in college. Thanks Ed
That outro gave me a good chuckle. Keep up the good work as always, sir!
Did you put some lube on the other locks?
Nothing I sledge hammer and a crowbar couldn't fix.
Weld the door shut and climb in and out the window. It worked for the Duke boys.
Best outro ever.
I would just like to say thank you! I found your channel months and months ago. Its interesting and you can learn from it. Besides I like your humor. Anyway, Ive had some weird electrical problems with my 97 S10. Long story, short, I got a new ignition switch and Googled how to change it. Guess whose face popped up? Eric O! Not quite the same model (think it was a blazer so under the dash was a little different) but I was able to change it and all is well now. I don't have a scanner, just a code reader and I have learned that the ECM is not always right! Had to finally get to the point that the ignition died to get everything fixed. Keep up the good work!
Is it bad that Iโm sitting here at work watching your videos?๐ค
Perfect outro! ๐
Reminds me of Danny devito from twins lol
Great tip. The outro in my voice just isn't the same. Lol.
Lol I followed the outro directions to a T
Something I don't understand. If you get nice young girls like Marie and Hannah to hang around your place, why don't you have boys there ? Girls and car should attract a lot of boys !
Easy Peasy mmhmm beautiful ๐
Thanks for wAAtching
