Come along and experience some déjà vu as I replace another A/C condenser. this time it is on a 2008 Pontiac Torrent. The customer diagnosed this one himself and asked if I would replace the condenser and then recharge his air conditioning and make sure it blows cold again.
Should be the same or very similar for the Chevrolet Equinox I believe too.

Do you work on any fog light problems on Chrysler 300c

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Antonio Claudio Michael says:

I tend to use dykes and slotted screw driver also to remove plastic push pins and Christmas tree clips they tend to always work better then Clip tools I agree with you Eric O they get tons of dirt and mud in them around me that cakes on and the heat here makes them instantly brittle @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ernesto Cabrera says:

Wow What a great video. I have the same Torrent with the same problem. I just don't think I have the tools and space to perform the replacement myself so I may need to take it to a local shop.

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mark Schommer says:

Those do have good A/C if everything is right. My 2005 Equinox and my parents 2005 Equinox both worked good.

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mark Schommer says:

Not quite like doing that on an Old GM B-body is it?

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Foulk says:

A small rock took out my wife’s condenser grill on her 2016 Accord and yes it was a very pricey repair
and worth every dollar spent when we’re driving a black car with a black interior during these 90° days….Very nice repair you were thorough and complete never losing or damaging anything.

Eric I'm impressed. Seems you need to be a body and fender man to be an ace mechanic these days, great job. No extra parts I see.

I know they’re expensive as hell but those ratcheting wrenches have saved my ass many a time. They’ve paid for themselves. I definitely would get a “truck brand” though.

You should see a clean spot for the bolts to the latch. The fact that you take videos on many services, you have the proof on what you have done.

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Knorr says:

More proof that engineers don't work on cars.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Stabile says:

You know Eric sometimes I find myself blowing the dirt off of or the whatever mechanics do on my phone..lol

Wow chevy like a Pacifica wow who knew

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars aterack833 says:

When people pull away like that from a shop or garage (or friends who works on cars) you have to get to wondering, do they drive like that always? Or do they just decide that if something is going to go wrong, they want it to go wrong near where it can be fixed?

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars aterack833 says:

The only thing worse than leaving a design in such a way that requires a wrench for some part that could pretty easily be designed around it and not need one is having that but also having on the same job or worse yet the same part, steps that can’t be done with a wrench

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars aterack833 says:

Those clips with the ears make good use of those flat nosed pliers

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars aterack833 says:

You need two (or two sets) of those clip removal pry bars, one for doors and near paint, and the other thinner set for when you’re serious and want to get under things

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jorge fernandez says:

These cars are built with no considerations for repairing them just some maintenance and then get rid of them. Like you have boat loads of money.

I see you Eric. Changing a a condenser on a torrent. Saw your last you tube on a ford doing the same on a Ford something. The son o a B was eroded by that fan thermohickey. They need ac but the car needs much more. That’s what I am used to. Very depressing. Want ac but they need a oil change. They’re only 6K over due. Oh what the hell.😳 Thats what I am used to. Anyway good work on your UTube shit. Hope you make some ching on it. You know what I mean.
I hope people don’t fuck with you. You should not have had your phone number of your shop on U-Tube. I saw it . Now they are going call your shop. People suck.
The sooner you realize it the better Eric. People Suck..

SMH. It amazes me how car companies assemble cars in such a way that it makes them more money in service. I once wanted fog lights installed and sled the dealer how much it would cost. They charged 2 hours labor. I had the parts and installed them myself in 1.5 hours. They were factory lights and worked as such, but I had to take front end off car to do it. However, I was not out $300.00 for installing them. And God help you if you have to replace headlight assemblies, because it also requires removing front fascia. There are brackets that hold headlights in below the bumper line. I got very proficient at it…I was fast without breaking anything.

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Vincent Higgins says:

whatever happened to the part 2 video of that Chrysler Pacifica?

Good to know if I ever encounter this issue. Unfortunately, my 2006 Pontiac Torrent's issue is the A/C compressor is inoperable and quite a process including expensive. Since this is my winter vehicle I don't need AC just heat. I have a primary car if I do need AC. Very informative video.

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jack harrelson says:

Eric oh what was the ambient temperature when you filled the AC and got it to 32°. Love your videos been a fan for quite a while.

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Newfie Led Man says:

i had to get my 2006 Pontiac Torrent 3.4 l v6 Engine rebuilt cause of a blown head-gasket and i got all brand new Sensors replaced last week, but i am getting a check engine light code P0171, lean on Bank 1, do you have any idea's that may help to find the problem. after replacing all of the sensor's, i am getting that code of P0171
i erased the code last week and today the light on the dash came back on. it is the same code P0171.

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mike Fn Garage says:

yea I would love to talk to the engineers on so many cars especially vws.

Your right on the dementia stuff Eric . My mom died of it a few yrs back . Its horrible . smh

  50. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Garth Clark says:

Love that A/C charging machine ! Seems like that dial thermometer is very responsive and high quality. I was noticing the drive by traffic, seems busy for your small town Avoca. Excellent review to the task of replacing a simple and fairly inexpensive part showing where all the labor hours come from.
