Hats off to you sir, I don’t have the patience for all that ridiculousness 🤣
The spark plugs on my 1953 Plymouth practically took themselves out.
You will make a great pilot!
Ray, little trick I use to prevent dropping small screws is to place a neodymium magnet on the shaft of the screw driver or socket extension.
Us mechanics have absolutely 0% respect for retarded engineers that make it so you have to pull the subframe out of a car to get a starter bolt out.
And for god sake you can use a magnet to get those bolts out for the coils so you dont have to use plyers to get at them.
5 star emoji
why do I spend hours and hours on this channel…..I have a serioius problem!!!
Your coworker going crazy with the Mexican music
Deep surgery Ray…all while filming. Engineers could do a better job routing hoses and wiring.
I must have said "giggety" going on 200 times this episode. Lol
Watching here from Taupo New Zealand . Enjoy watching as i used to fix my car and do the services on it in the 80s . A bit different now.
Love that you are a member of the grammar police .Click
Never trust quick lube places
A mechanic has slept with every single car manufacturer engineer's wife or husband.
That's the only way to explain needing 15 tools to remove spark plugs
A good pilot never gets lost, they become temporarily unsure of their position.
All these modern cars have items required for regular service, in the most inacessable places. I can't believe on some Audi's you have to remove the engine to change the starter motor… Madness..
not about the working on cars but the Bluetooth flgger machines are not replacing the job completely because I do that job and it's still gotta have someone that operates the machine bc some people can't read or pay attention apparently so it's just making our job a breeze sitting in the truck and operating the signs with a remote and I think it's the best thing possible bc it makes us not have to get out in the weather as much but still have to setup everything just makes it where we don't have to stand 12hr holding a pole with a stop and slow sign I thinks it's a great idea also bc people do shit while driving that is so dangerous we have to be on alert all the time and it's much safer if a driver hit just a sign board instead of a human holding a sign alot less people would get killed and hurt forsure
I've never seen that before what did they do fill the engine rate to the top with oil. Now woof that done any damage to the motor?
I mean we bash the engineers but let's be honest it's the financial department who limit them from making the cars properly.
You seems to be one h**ll of a mechanicer, i would'nt hesitate to leave my car in your hands, BMW x3 35D.👍👍👍👍
I drive a late model Honda Accord and I would never think to take my car to one of those quick lube places. Why would anyone think to take their $50,000+ vehicle to a quick lube for an oil change. It makes zero sense.
that's a bit over the top for a bracket
Any job worth it's salt, you never stop learning. One of the reasons I love my job.
"Where's my rubber?"
Spit take immediately!
The best bike mechanic I know is a very lovely woman.
I.m guessing the plugs on the (wrong) driver’s side were never out !
Typical Unnecessary over engineering.
I guarantee that Mercedes Benz would charge a fortune for that job.
Exactly HOW much oil was overfilled? How did that much oil get past the rings or did they just pour oil down the intake ports?
Make sure sell engine power purge
Wow… unreal amount of labor involved, just to replace the spark plugs! I guess I'm old… I remember when it took 15 minutes to change plugs, and the hardest part of the whole project was opening the beer.
After watching this video, I now know that I'm not cut out to be a mechanic.
I know I could undo all of those bracket screws, but I'd lose half of them, and quit my bloody job at the thought of putting it all back together again!
All that Sh__ too charge a set of spark plugs.
Why do all quick lube places mess up on oil changes. Why?
I believe it was Mike Tyson who said, "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth".
And also ray im having a issue my diesel has a rough idle and weird soungþd coming from the engine it's a common rail skoda 2.0l tdi engine code is CRLB any help would be appreciated
The one thing thats keeping me away from mercs i bought a diesel skoda instead of a merc the only thing i have to do to replace the glow plugs it's one connector and I can take it out and it's on top of the engine at a brilliant angle took me 5 minutes to replace all 4 and same for injectors skoda simply clever
Didn't you have to drain some oil from the engine because of excessive oil?
"One to hold the shaft, the other one to do the twisting"…. "Where's my rubber". 🤣🤣 that definitely came out wrong
engineers vs mechanics
Watching this makes me glad I work on old cars
and people wonder why i am upset when i go to a garage and they just throw in 5 quarts no matter what your engine takes i had toyota corolla that only used under 4 quarts with filter. people are like it's no big deal they put in an extra quart so its half inch to an inch over full line. what harm could it do. the really sad part is i would write the amount and weight with filter number on plastic by radiator so i wouldn't have to look it up
Well ray on this one I'm put off buying a merc ,full scale operation just to get the plugs out
Sorry, ECU on the side of the engine….. Designed to fail?
Boy you skated the statement.
Use a 3/8 or 5/16 hose that you cut at your preferred length to pick up the spark plug, push it till it gets over the ceramic part. Trick I learned from someone back in the days when I worked at a beetle boxer engine…
I'm learning to be grateful I've never worked on a Benz. That's worse than my Chrysler!
SO $180 TO $450 TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AT MERCEDES DEALERSHIP. HORRIFYING LESSON.
