So Mitchell on demand says 77ftlbs for torque on the brake caliper boltsโฆ.. it can not be right. That is the same as the brake caliper bracket bolts.

So i have a friend that does not put grease on the caliper like you just did. He claims it creates noise or glaze up the rotor. Something like that. Great videos by the way ๐ช๐พ๐๐ฝ๐๐พ
Here in italy those thinks are all over our roads as Fiat doblo',most of then whit diesel engine. Opel used to make a similar of that called combo

Iโm going to add my opinion.
You should take those caliper bracket bolts and throw them away. Use regular headed bolts if possible. But Chrysler probably made the bolt land so small that it would not work. Iโve never done a brake job on anything that new. So I would not know.

I have done hundreds of brake jobs and I can always learn something new
Any idea about a supposed "Oil Cooler Failure"?
My RAM Promaster City overheated, and the dealer is claiming it won't fall under the Powertrain Warranty because it was the "cooler" not the oil pump, which isn't in the list of powertrain parts that are covered.
I suspect they're trying to screw me and duck the warranty, because I spoke to another dealership's parts guy and he said he's never heard of an Oil Cooler failure in a Promaster City and confirmed that it's a passive part that oil just passes through. But I don't know how a passive part like that fails other than cracking and allowing oil out, but I had NO oil loss, and checking the stick, it was still topped off fairly after it overheated, blowing oil into the coolant.
To me, sounds like the oil pump failed, which is under the powertrain warranty, and they're just trying to duck paying for it by saying it was the oil cooler that failed….

I've watched a few brake jobs now. Was that a sheep or a goat sound. Every action should have a animal sound and it will cut your explanation time in half or something.

Those brakes install exactly like BMW brakes do. Right down to the caliper clip, Allen key pins, etc etc. I guess its using European hardware.
In Europe that is a Fiat Doblรณ or Opel Combo
I believe that Your "cleaning" tool is too aggresive. You should use the Scotch Bird disc – it eats the rust buf not base metal
i just did this for my dads promastercity, its a 2017 model. quick question when you drove it when it was at idle was the car shaking? or was it smooth at idle?

When I switch my winter wheels with the summer wheels and my euro trash nuts are like these, how do I clean the white corrosion off the wheel studs? The owner manual says to not lube my nuts as they can come loose under operation. Any tips and jokes are appreciated!

Have you ever considered using Disc Quiet between the pads and caliper? We don't have the corrosion problems like you do out here, but it does a great job of reducing disc squeal. It sets up over time, and I would think that it might do a better job of sealing the caliper/pad area off from the elements.
There are NEVER enough brake jobs!
(Plus I LOVE the time lapse road tests!)
