The Exterior Designer was so obsessed with making all fasteners invisible, until Manufacturing had to slap him silly and explain they would need an access port to get to the one screw.. He wept.
That's just silly. Instead of small inconspicuous screw or two, or hidden fasteners they designed large ugly "service ports" in the bumper.. German way I guess
Remember it? My God this car has been haunting my dreams for months now!! Why on Gods green earth wouldnβt she have returned that car? Or at least sued them and had them pay for repairs?
Please remember on especially German autos, always replace any bulb with the exact replacement. Using the wrong bulb causes a resistance imbalance, that can create a problem.
I mean it's an Audi… the way they make them it wouldn't surprise me if you need to remove the entire rear bumper… which requires removing the rear suspension… They're terrible for maintenance.
How Much$ in a second hand Audi Lens? Because the Rainman just showed you how to make Money – No Workshop required Double ended Screwdriver and wire cutters to make that Nice clean beginning for the next guy. Oh?! Hi Rainman π
Audis and German cars are a pain in the ass to begin with Iβm not a mechanic just owner first time I did work I didnβt realize almost all the bolts are triple square.
Itβs been my experience with Audi tail lenses….when you have indication of multiple bulbs out, that itβs not the bulbs that are bad, but the ground to those assemblies that is failing. Remove ground cable and clean the contacts and reattach should be the first action. Typically solved the problem
quick google " The taillights are held on with 3 bolts. you need to remove the trim piece from the inside of the tailgate to access the 3rd (inner most) bolt" lets see if iam right π
I am a welder, I have come to terms that everything I touch that isn't metal is going to break. If it's plastic/glass I buy all new because I know that it will break when I remove it.
I hate German and European cars. Since I got my toyota avensis 2012 1.8 petrol I never had any complicated nonsense anymore. Thanks for the video's always nice to watch
I sometimes watch your videos on my tv which is great because of size, clarity and sound. Started to watch this one and my wife came in, saw the opening credits and asked if this was a scifi filmπ thumbs up to your production team πππ

That construction represents a complete failure of design.
This is the type of information that is the most helpful to us mere mortals. More of these videos please π π
is it pronounced audi or audi

I have found the vehicle's Owner's Manual has a wealth of information on routine tasks such as bulb replacement. Thanks Rainman. Great video.
well done
Next time I buy one of those cars.
Lol its so easy and a million videos on it
Very clever design! Too bad the owners manual wasnβt in the car.
You have reached enlightenment.
You are the Man for sharing! Much appreciated!!!

WHYY?
I have seen cars with this access hole ,and wondered what that was for ,thanks Ray
Iβll never own an Audi but great information!
Typical Audi just as well i drive an old reliable Mitsubishi and many original bulbs.
Had to do the same for my wife's Q7.
Very cool. Good to know.
Freaking audi's and bmw's… always looks over practicality.
Iβm sure some German engineer is so proud of that design. Thanks for sharing the trick.

Good old German engineering
Why make it simple when you can make it complicated….

Very hard, a hole 3 minutes!…..
I suspect that those bottom lights only work when the rear hatch is opened to obscure the main lights that lift up with the tailgate.
Very smart, solution. Cars are becoming increasingly complicated.

At least its not a Cadillac Escalade rear lamp- (LEDs hard soldered in)-$730.00 to replace!
Enjoyed ππ
Wow

Send back to Audi

I HAVE A 2012 Q7 WONDER IF IT IS THE SAME THING. I WILL FIND OUT IF A LIGHT EVER GOES OUT… THANKS
Good info.
Odie? Interesting way of saying it ngl.
that was nice of Audi…you know, make it so the screw don't fall out…that would have sucked.
Why would those sneaky German engineers put a Philips screwdriver in the bumper?
On the off chance that one day Iβll own an Audi and need to replace a tail light! Thank you
I always thought those little panels you took out look kind of cheap looking.
As a new audi owner you answered my question because for the life of me I've been trying to figure out what a rear fog light was. Thanks!!
