If you don’t have room or you don’t want to risk ruining your pliers, put some weatherstrip adhesive on the back of the nut and put it in place against the head for a second until it dries. After that you can tack it up hands free.

GOOD JOB RAY ON EXTRACTING THAT STUD
put a copper tub in the hole before you weld on the nut it will keep the hole clean of weld you can also put a punch inside the coper pipe and hit it that keeps you from damaging any treads the copper tub only needs to be to the top of the hole, then fill the tub with weld and your nut.
it not stealing the tool just did not perform. and i know your kidding easy john we are here for fun .rays A-OK and wouldn't do that
Always lube before you start sticking your tool in there.
Must be nice taking them out that way on a Florida truck. See if it comes out on a north east truck lol

on the bolt extractions, I feel great when I can get a damaged screw out with a screw extractor and here you are welding nuts in an aluminum engine head and not wrecking anything wow ☺

I am completely "with you" on this one. Snap-On tools are very high quality but still extremely overpriced…if it weren't for the warranty. This is their business model (along with the practice of selling from a van that comes by the shop for convenience) and it's set up this way for a reason: it keeps customers in their fold. They damage an expensive tool then return to the van for a replacement and inevitably buy another one since they always need something else to make the job a little easier.
And if using those pliers aren't supposed to be used for holding something to tack weld it…then what is? your fingers?

Cant say I have ever welded pliers before, but I send Milwaukee power tools for warranty work every 6 months give or take. Granted I should probably buy a hole hawg instead of using a 1/2 drill to cut 4 inch holes for conduit.

Hi all, I have a 2010 Suburban 2500 with the 6.0L Vortec – and I need to do this job – my brother in law has a welder. So I believe that my engine has an iron block, but aluminum heads? Meaning that there's no chance of me welding the nut to the heads?

First You DON'T Want To Wait Until Its Cooled Off BIG! Mistake The Aluminium is Hot From The Weld And Expand More Then The Broken Bolt!! But it Cools Very Fast! Secondly You Put a Nut On The Bolt Broken off Resessed in The Head Have Some one Hold it Against The Head !! Not Doing So Can Melt The Aluminum Threads !!!!

You don't have to shield us from the bright light. The brightest we can see is a plain white screen
Pro tip one; you weld thick washer to broken off bolt. Washers center hole should be just slightly smaller than bolt. Two; you weld larger nut to washer filling the center of nut. Three; as soon as red disappears you start working nut back and forth. Do not let it cool to much!
This was painfully Funny to watch… Gotta love the game of: How much time can I waste doing something simple while making it look so hard?
You should take welding classes, build up your skill!
Remember to chase those manifold bolts holes with a tap before reassembly.

Great job with welding that back stud, could not have been in a more difficult place to get at, and on top of that it was inside the head. Goes to show that with a bit of patience things like that can be overcome without having to tear the head off. Thumbs up from me!
Hot melt glue gun on steroids.
Until I had to replace a mig gun and lead on my Lincoln Power Mig 256 (when I bought it from the pawn shop the gun was broken) I usually didn't pay much attention to how I used the gun on my Lincoln Weld Pak 3200HD (have always used flux core on it), sticking it in too close etc. that $300 gun and lead changed me quick.

I had broken off header bolts on an old dune buggy back a couple decades ago. I cut a slot in the bolts that stuck out so the weld would get down into the bolt like a flat head screwdriver.
Still having problems I heated the block up with a torch and sprayed carb cleaner on the bolt head. Contrasting Temps between the two parts let the bolt break free. Just an FYI. Plus I like the videos and your acerbic wit…

Welder feed speed might be the liner in the welding gun line or the roller/motor that feeds the line, but guessing you have already checked these both and this comment will be lost in the thousands that have been posted
On those needle nose pilers that you are going to break more to get warranty. That is called being a thief and a liar. No warranty covers those kinds of things. Tell your supplier what you did and IF he/she wants to warranty it fine, but YOU need to be honest. Other than that, good job.
