as a state inspector in New York I would be petrified to be under that truck, our lifts would have turn the truck into a burrito
what a nightmare freddy kruger has nothing on this
I would have bopped that lift up n down till that vehicle was 100% non-driveable to ensure it doesn't make it back on the roadways. "Sorry dude, it just broke" :p
Good design !!
Time to get that truck off the road!
Don't you have yearly vehicle inspections over there?
Check out Zip Ties N Bias Plies Ray you might like his channel
A little Rustoleum Spray paint and she’ll be good as new! That is sad and scary. I wonder how the owner received the good news.
"Your truck is made of tetanus."
I'm from western new York see this all the time
This job should cost you your inspection license…..you have a responsibility to the public to only put safe cars out.
Actually most of the cars made in USA have very bad antirust protection. My father imported 3 cars from USA and all of them had really bad rust issues. Compared to European and Asian cars, USA cars are far away behind. It's a shame because almost everyone here loves USA cars – they are big, comfort, powerful, but that rust…… Importing cars from northern states is a complete suicide.
OMG
Duct tape with some JB Weld and he'd be good to go!!!
Nice ARB bullbar… Australian owned company. Pity about the crap it's bolted to 🙂
Weld cab a bed together then take 2×2 steel pipe and reinforce rest done drive as normal
the whole undercarriage is shot, refuse the job
The Titanic is in better shape than this less than 20 year old truck.
Live on the West Coast. Is this normal rust for an 18 year old car?
Would they like a truck to go with all that rust that things got more rust than a car sat in water for a good few years. Good job on rejecting it ray you did the right thing. Had that been in an accident how is all that rush gonna do any support on impact.
Keep up the great content and hope your well 😊
Where I live I Canada if I took that to the mechanic they would have it pulled off the road. It is no longer fit for the road and could kill someone. We also have a lot of cops that pull people over on the highway and retire vehicles like this.
Is this an old video?
It’s so bad it looks like it’s been underwater
Why would a car mechanic refuse a job as long as the owner is willing to pay and as long as the mechanic is confident in his or her skills
If that POS was in a state that had motor vehicle inspections, it would be off the road and not able to kill anyone. Go Florida.
Unfortunately that one is beyond hope. The best thing to do in a case like this is to contact the highway patrol and have the vehicle RED FLAGGED as unsafe to be on the road otherwise the owner may keep trying to get it fixed until he finds someone who will try it anyway and someone could get killed because of it and not just the owner of it. That truck needs to be condemned
Good job Raymond. I did 5 rear frame clip repairs back in the 80's Syracuse NY ( 70s cutlass etc. Lol )
The owner of that truck knows its a death trap when they have a Santa Muerte figurine mounted on the dash
They are on modified cars like no tomorrow state reff for mods when in reality the modified cars are built with pride and maintained more then dealer recommended services but in reality its the normal looking cars with rotted frames poor repairs and just dangerously neglected the in my opinion the police should be more concerned with these death traps and also in my opinion when a garage comes across a vehicle that is so far gone should have the power and legally pull that car off the road and condemned it cause this truck is a tragedy just waiting to happen i hope no one ever gets hurt from this death trap all the best appaciate the knowledge and entrainment lol
Rainman That truck looks Like trucks From Where I Started my Life MASS. before I told myself if your going do this for a Living i'm GOING to Florida where its Warm and Not Having SNOW Dripping down my back !!!!!
I have this exact same truck in the F250 variety. The crossmembers for the bed look about the same (Michigan truck), but the frame is still solid under it, albiet it has a lot of surface rust. Probably going to remove the bed and build a bed for it out of cheap metal I can find.
Is there no rust prevention in the US , Audi in Europe the entire body is since 1986 completely galvanized.
Looks great compared to my 95 dodge ram !
Best thing on this vehicle are the TIRES!
Take it out into the parking lot and set fire to it, it's a deathtrap.
Report this to the police. That would prevent damage and death; save you from liability when he crashes.
Meh, all you had to do is replace the frame! It's only one part 🤷🏻♂️ 😂
Black couch, funny. Ray civilization is in worse shape than that truck, but he is working with what he has got. Good guy mentality in a bad place.
Since the video wasn't posted by a relative or other member of the shop, I was pretty sure you survived being under that thing while it was up on the lift. However, it was pretty scary seeing how much is was just a pile of rust underneath while you were under it. Sheesh.
Scrapyard
Is this a re-upload video?
Yeah, when the steering box falls off the frame, it's time for the crusher.
Thinking you are brave to creep underneath that rusty death trap…
My old Alfa isn’t that bad after all.
I am amazed that this sort of rust can occur on a vehicle this age. I have to say, though, that where I live we do NOT use any salt on roads in winter… and rust is not so much of a problem here, but I have a 1993 Isuzu Bighorn) Trooper to you, with no real rust showing anywhere, and it is kept outside, not garaged…. (Christchurch NZ here)
Good call Ray. Nope Nope Nope. The flavor is strong with this one.
That truck was a snow plow truck they put that nice bumper right over the plow hook ups!!
Rust in Florida, salt water or sat a long time in swamp grass.
I feel like ive seen this video before Lol
This rig's got a lot of life left! Go to Harbor Freight and grab 3 big C clamps to hold the steering gear in. Good as new.
