In this video I show you the process of replacing a rear wheel bearing on the rear of a rotted Subaru Forester. The through bolt on the rear suspension can be a bit tricky. Nothing a sawzall can't handle. -Enjoy

You both fit together like peanut butter and jelly!!😎🥰
Quite the set up with the kitchen at the shop or is this part of the main house? Air tools are DEFINITELY the way to go! Spent many a day and night cracking my knuckles on slipped wrenches!! Nice work😎
You are so spoiled where can I find me and mrs. Oh my God she works on the cars she makes you lunch she provided you what 3 kids I got where can I find one like her tell me .
Mrs O got that apron from Al Borland of Tool Time.
I saw an SMA video titled "Wheel falls off on highway", after seeing the corrosion of this car, I should think you could 100's of videos titled "<insert any part name here> falls off on highway".
Too much yaking, lets get to task at hand.
"El Diablo" 💯👍
SAFETY GLASSES!!!!!
hows does a subaru get this rusty, what did she do, park it in the ocean?
Remind me to never buy a used Subaru from New York
I had to go through this same thing when I replaced a arm in the rear. Was a pain In the ass 10x!!! Put a new long bolt with anti seize
"Turn your exhaust fan on it's smoky in here" , Yeah, you should talk. I've seen you fill up that garage with smoke from that smoke wrench.
im a backyard mechanic, and dude you impress me so much on alot of your videos. i wander how much it cost just to take out that bolt
Definitely one of the worst designs ever.
Nope, not fallin for it. My Subie is going to the shop when this needs done😂
you are a great at what you do, thanks for sharing.
Three words – "snap ring pliers"
Just sayin…
As a 50 year toolmaker I learned that there are craftsmen and hacks, the hack just gives up when the job gets challenging.
The. Craftsman considers it a point of pride to finish the job and to do it right.
PEOPLE!, If you live in the rust belt Wool Wax (or similar lanolin base stuff) your new car!
It's cheap and effective!
Just touch up ever year or two, YOU (and your mechanic) WILL NOT REGRET IT!
Fire houses have dalmatians, SMA has Vinny
Subaru Foruster.
Jesus clips.
OK, I don't usually do this but I would like to know why you don't skip all the prep work, I would disconnect the strut to get the axle out of the way and bypass all the nasty LC arm work. Is there not enough tilt at the LCA to get it out? Seems to me ive done that before on other model subaru's .
wear a mic,
"That's a bad idea…"
Proceeds to do it…
Wow, drums, haven't seen those in a while…
It’s not all that dreamy down here lol . We get crap from back home too from transplants
What sort of forester is that with drum brakes…? Is it a USA poverty spec thing?
Can't see anything. To dark
Look at those NY skills
what year forester is this?
a piece of ALL-THREAD, washers and nuts works pretty well for this.
after looking at your vedios for one years I can say it ,if you can do it ,I can do it lol
I was almost 100% certain that I could not saw that bolt, in 2 places no less, and not damage either the link arm(s) or the axle housing (03 WRX). At some point you have nothing to lose. I bought the Diablo blade, removed the backing plate (was replacing it so I no issue with beating the hell out of it) and made the cuts successfully. Maybe all that I proved is that any dumbass can get lucky but I thank you for giving me the nerve to try it.
And the actress you hire to play the part of your wife is great! 🙂
great stuff sir look after that lady she cool, you must get all kinds of jobs with cars.we don't have salt on our roads thank fully iam in new zealand we use quarter inch grit quite good. great video.
Eric, thanks for the video! where can i get the part you use with the emery cloth?
The subtitles on this are gold
Why did you cut the bolt I don’t understand
The “Not So Nasty”, I like that. I use a UT049, originally from the 90s I believe, bought it off an old timer, hits like a champ. Air hammers aren’t all that popular in the UK, getting .498 bits is a US import job if I want quality and good price even with import and postage. Those guns answer a lot of “how are we going to get this done” questions when it comes to seized components.
Time to send vinny to the corner store to buy some lotto tickets! 😂
Watching you work on subarus basically tells me I don't want a Subaru any longer, I used to think they were a good durable car
Add $12 to the bill for destroying El Diablo.
don't be a hater because the guy has a great wife
A big nut
Junk rust bucket
El Diablo 🇲🇽
You do good work.
Maybe you should have been a dentist
Rust never sleeps
