sounds like you need a lotta round tuits about now. good planning brother. I'll see if i got any laying around to send
I’m glad you and the family are ok, and the property faired pretty good. Hopefully you’ll get power back soon.
Glad you and your family are safe!
Glad your doing fair to partly cloudy, mostly well.
We never realize how much we depend on electricity until it is gone.
May God speed your recovery.
Been watching the news coverage of it and seems to of hit real hard
Screwtube done un sobbed me again i been watching for this vid had search it out tonight & found it ! Glad things wasnt bad for you & our prayers are with all those effected by the storm ! Where kind of worried about this winter with reports saying its going be lot snow & colder then normal here top indiana we get those lake effect snowstorms off lake michigan We got backup power with 4 generators for the family & fireplaces if powers out extended time but after so long the pipes start freezing !
Love all the work you've done for this. Good luck out there
We were out here in Missouri for 5 days after 2 feet of snow – no water either, because on a well. Had to stay because lots of pets. Had plenty of water stored up for the animals because I always keep big jugs on hand for the winter, just in case.
We melted snow to use to flush the toilet and just wore a lot of clothes. We had some young chicks in the house, but brought broody hens in to keep them warm. House temps fell slowly over the time we were out, but didn't go below 50. All the neighbors were also without, but fortunately one came by with a 4×4 on the 3rd day and took me to a local store to charge my cell phone and grab some hot coffee. We did fine, didn't even lose a chick, the only real casualties were some eggs I had in the incubator.
Wish you well, and hope the power is restored soon!
What don't kill you makes you stronger!
Good to know your doing good from California stay safe
can't imagine what you've been through but you're doing a good job rebuilding things, well done and keep those you tube vids coming. 👍
Don't know if it is any comfort but yesterday while heading over from my mom's home I waited for a caravan of Alliant Energy trucks and some flatbed semis carrying various supplies headed your way. Hopefully they will be able to make good time to you all. My neighbor two homes down will be there helping. He started out as a lineman and is now a distribution specialist, whatever that is. Glad that everyone is okay and safe. With time perhaps you all can get back to your new normal.
glad to hear you and your family are safe.
Thanks for the tour. Use to live in Avon Park and recognize many landmarks.
Glad you and your family are safe.
Glad to see you and your family are safe.
You and one other are the only people I watch on yet, to my knowledge at least, and they got hit hard as well. Sad to see but glad you’re ok.
Beautiful property! Excellent job preparing for the storm.
yoru kid is still happy 😛
Bout time we got an odometer reading!
Hey Ray I didn't have time to watch your video till now the Storm has passed us too They finally got the power back on here.
Glad you and your family are safe thank you for raising the American flag!! Stay safe, healthy and AMERICAN STRONG 🇺🇸💪💯👍🏻
Hey Rainman if I was looking at your video yesterday and I saw that you video of your food store I would not do that for the safety of your family ok Ray just saying 😉
HA! I had bet the cup would survive and I was right! But I'm really glad you guys made it out OK as well. Hope you didn't take too much damage.
We love you all! My family prays for you and yours, thank you and bless you. I hope everything turns out well, and thank you for keeping your community posted about the aftermath. You are doing the lord's work, we love you all-signed_ Everyone
I am so glad you and your family are safe God Bless bro. You are truly a great father and husband love from Aurora IL
Thanks for the updates. Prayers for all!!
How did the garage make out?
Diesel generator time, Ray?
Happy Yao and yours made it safely through Ian. Lived on the Gulf Coast of MS. for many years. First hurricane i remember well was Camille in '69. Good luck!
I thank god your family is ok.
I've been watching your channel for some time I always knew that you were good under pressure in shop but you're even better at your homestead good luck Jay from New York
You were talking about the wasps and I was thinking 'BUT WHAT ABOUT THE CHICKENS' haha…glad they're all ok…had no doubt, with that preparation, you and the family would have anything else but a cousy night together. Btw…what you call 'back yard' we call 'park' over here haha (your back yard would cost 30 million easily)
…too bad some of your favourite trees got the worst of it…glad everyone is ok…keep posting!
Have to be retrained !
Smart man
I'm glad that you and your fammade it through the hurricane safe!
We wondered how you did, good to see you safe.
It's great to see you and the family faired well through the storm. You guys got hammered down there in Florida! I live about 16 miles inland of Myrtle Beach, the wind wasn't all that bad (I'm 65 and been through quite a few hurricanes) but we got a lot of rain. Lost power at 10:32 AM and restored at 7:42 PM, and yes I have a generator. Get back to work, love your videos! I'm a retired maintenance mechanic, AKA jack of all trades – master of none! 😆
Glad to see you faired well. I am in Fort Myers Beach and what is your opinion on a Harley that was in a trailer that unfortunately allowed the sea water in and submerged the bike? I had to evacuate and have not seen it, a friend called and checked on it said based on water marks it was completely submerged.
Loving the back seat entertainer
Omg the kiddos singing in the background are the best for this video!
I hope the shop is in as good of shape as your place.
This one gets a thumbs up if only for the kids singing! Stay safe Ray!
So glad the kids, wife and yourself is safe and well!!! Prayers to you and your family and the people of the affected area.
Who said you can't have background music at least she nailed it!
Nice rig up there, dude! Inverters like that take a powder relatively often so… You could drive a military surplus 20KW generator off of your Truck engine . they are designed for low RPM like around 1800 RPM's to achieve 60Hx@… it's PURE sine wave AC (same as grid power) where small inverters are usually square wave AC… I run mine off of my Tractor accessory drive… Life goes on as usual with that rig! 😉
Wow what a miss my prayers to u all . I'm glad u and ur family r safe and alive .I love ur show I wish all mach r like u . Stay safe WAYNE
You are a man to be admired Ray. Your content throughout has been exceptional, and your stoicism despite the circumstances is worthy of commendation.
Glad to see you all made it . Looks like you are good till they restore the utilities.Boy pickups sure have come a long way since my old red 67' ford I had back in the 70's.
Guess what song is stuck in my head now. good to see you are all safe.
"The cows made it… We have beef" Just wow ! 🤟
the honda 2kw inverter generators sip fuel, they will keep refrigerators running, have a couple of those then a 10kw Northern lights diesel with up to 900 gallons of diesel that I also used for heat in 2 shops and house when I lived in Alaska, was off grid for 12 years. still have the generators just not in Alaska anymore, the diesel uses about 8 gallons every 24 hours, the hondas use about 3 gallons gas each every 24 hours.
McGyver in action.
Yesterday on the news up here in Fargo, ND, the power company Xcel Energy were sending crews down to help restore power. Hopefully you'll get your juice back soon. Your truck has been a very useful power supplier!
Hang on!
Thankyou for sharing! I am worried pushing your truck alternator too much. It is probably rated between 95-130 amps(peak, not continuous)…So if your GM alternator is 100AMPx12Volts = 1200 watts. So keep your inverter wattage to about 70% max of this output to cover efficiencies losses etc. Otherwise you might loose some magic smoke from your Alternator and also a stuck truck. Hang in there with you and your family. You are well equipped and skilled..
Sounds like you have things pretty well covered Ray. Not ideal no, but it is amazing how well we can manage when we must. That large diesel tank has absolutely paid off. Love your daughters singing, BTW. Glad you folks are ok. God bless.
Hearing your daughter singing made my heart melt. All the best to you, Ray and family.
Glad to hear you and your family are doing well considering the circumstances. Stay safe.
That being said – it's your alternator that you must worry about – brush life to the armature and regulator able to hold the load. If you have the heavy duty unit on your truck then thats great. but heat is the one thing that shortens the life of alternators.
But I'm very much relieved that you are ok Ray, Hurricanes are one kinda storm you dont fool around with.
Thank you very much in keeping your audience up to date. You mean a lot to all of us.
Blessings to you and your family…
Cheers
I am glad you all are safe, we was praying for you all.
Was getting worried when we didn’t hear from you yesterday! Glad you guys are OK!!
No doo da doo’s? 😅 Glad you and the fam are okay.
Go cow's there not stupid
Good job Ray keep going you got this.
Woah, Lake Manatee, you were right there. Glad you and your fam is alright.
Love your daughter's "Black Sheep" song in the background. Helped me remember their is hope and resiliency in the world. Take care.
"The cup isn't a lie.. it survived!!"
With the amount of rain that fell it was a smart move to bring your tools home with you. Hopefully the only things you have to tend to is chopping up firewood and cleaning up around the property.
Keep your truck and all property secure. Thieves will be out soon if they aren't already. I went through a hurricane aftermath that lasted weeks and thieves would push a running lawnmower next to the generator, then grab the generator and haul ass. Dead serious, Ray. Trust no one. You've got a good plan. Stay safe
There can be sharks in that water
I can't exactly where you are at but think it's Friday night now in Northport I we are hearing an I 75 bridge at Sumter I could be wrong which one I never remembe exit numbers and also the water is rising even now in Northport
I can’t wait to see how the shop made out. 🤞🏼 btw. No milage on the truck again but we will let it slide due to Ian. 😂 glad your family is safe and sound.
Well done Ray. You love and take care of your family like God loves us and sacrificed his Son Jesus for us. John 3:16. God bless you brother.
And that's why you own a generator.
G'day Ray, so glad you have survived Hurricane Ian without injury or major damage to your place. Take care bud, been watching Ian over here from Australia.
Glad you’re okay, Ray. You’re a pretty smart guy and knew you would be okay. My friend in Ft. Myers had relatively little damage. Thankful everyone is okay. Blessings on you and your family.
hope your ok…….It was a biggy for florida…….
Might look into a propane/gas generator. I have one and the 100 gallon tank will last me roughly 3 days as we also use solar panels to charge the batteries during the day. Also looking at a 3 point generator for a tractor.
Ray officially has the best background music on YouTube! 😂
Good luck Ray from UK.
Prayers out to you and all thats is affecting by IAN! Your are awesome bro! Taking care of family and still giving us content! I was worried about you and the family out there! glad yall are ok!
This is genius. Damn dude.
Ray, I'm glad you and your family are safe!!
You need to make up a 2 wheeled dolly (hand truck) with a battery(s) on the bottom and the inverters and some plugin boxes for the next hurricane. Be easy peasy to push around when you need it and easy to store. Easy build and will only take you a few hours to put it all together.
Glad y'all are okay. The water there dissipates quickly. Runoff, evaporation and through the ground. Your driving through with your wheeler breaks the surface tension which helps move the water. The farmer's in that area will run through fields and irrigation ditches with tractor and cultivator after big rains like that to get water moving.
Also you do know your fridges and freezers don't have to be continually plugged in. If you limit the amount of time you open the door the longer it stays cool. Especially a freezer that you don't go into very often.
Glad you and your family is safe prayers
Glad you all are good and able to live without electric. Keep on keeping on
Can you have your daughter sing in the background on all your future videos? It brings a smile to my heart!
I am new to your channel and me and the wife love your content. You are a good mechanic and seem like a great and moral person. My thoughts and well wishes are with you, your family and community. Just glad to see that you guys are still alright.
One of worse parts of power outage after storm is heat returning especially at night with kids. A 110 window unit and sleeping in one room works well on generator.
👍👍👍
Appreciate all the updates Ray on what has been a horrible situation for you all. Glad to see you all safe.
You don’t need to answer this question but… are you armed?
Enjoyed the back ground music,,,and loved the mailbox with the 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸,,and glad all of yours is okay,,stay safe 😍
Hang in there, Ray. You're a good man and you have a good family. That's what counts.
To the tune of "Two tickets to paradise"…..🎵 "I've got two fridges to run tonight…"
With your skills I am suprised that you have not built a 4cyl auto engine generator for incliment weather.
Ray is like a ray of sunshine!!
I have 2ga 20 ft cables myself from Walmart
You can't draw no more than 60 to 80 amps continuous off a vehicle alt otherwise you burn it up quickly
