Honest to God , I have seen worse ! Had a customer come into my shop stating that her brakes felt funny. I went out to test drive the car , put the key in to start the car , the radio was cranked up on a ramp music station . I pressed the brake pedal, which went to the floor with no resistance at all. Carefully pulled car into shop and put it up on the lift and proceeded to pull all four wheels off. I kid you not , both front rotors looked exactly like that Volvo , pistons were pushed out of both calipers , the brake hoses were held together with duct tape and both left and right outer CV boots were almost completely gone. I went to get the customer , a 70 year old woman , to show her the carnage. She looked at me with a dead serious look on her face and asked me what I did to her car ! By the way , her clear brakes were great , just needed to be cleaned and adjusted.
Looks like "classic" v70/v70/s70" series. Driving myself for years. Never heard, seen or experienced brake issue's. They were known brake-upgrade is needed for the "very sporty" drivers to prevent fading after repeated hard braking. But this, looks like aftermarket crap from ali-express was put on. No one noticed how little rust these now really old cars have? The rust on the side, old volvo's will rust when damaged 🙂 Its actually 4 star safety rating, at a time the competition usually just scored on or maybe 2; Much safer than other cars from same era. The newer Ford-Volvo's are not so good; Now it is china owned.
i heard of driving to get your moneys worth but that rotor wtf lol and all that other stuff you know what this reminds me of stuff my grandpa do to his vehicles especially not only let stuff like this go but also drive vehicles like there all terrain and wonder why stuff gets broken and get stuck lol he only took his vehicles in when they pretty much in his eyes when it stopped getting him places
I must admit, when I saw this I genuinely thought it was some sort of new type of brake disc. It simply did not occur to me, that someone would drive around with a disc completely worn away to the ventilator cooling fins. That is extraordinary to say the very least. Looking at the rest of it, it might as well be dragged on to flat top and taken to a scrap yard.
I had one of those in my shop back in the day! I was blown away that they didn't crash! It had absolutely no brake pedal and they drove it in using the parking brake! LOL
I'm sorry. Some ppl are so oblivious to their cars and how they work and how the noises and changes in driveability hint at a potentially serious problem that need to be looked at it makes me cringe that we share the roads with them. WTF? At least the tires weren't bald and I have seen a lifetime's worth of those offenders.
I once again say….these are the people that think cars are just indispensable metal boxes to get from point a to point b…..and then they complain that they have to pay to fix it, but will have no problem getting overpriced coffee or buy a $1000 phone 6 months after they bought one the new one from then….
I have the same kind of brake discs. Sometimes they block but usually they have a good handling. The mech told me I can drive them down like tires till I see the wear indicator.
Just because the Piston came out of the caliper doesn't mean the calipers bad. you can push the Piston back in very easily and if the boots ripped you can get a new boot and a caliper repair kit. That one road is impressive though!

OH FAWK! WOW
Latin: VOLVO, English: I roll. And Volvo keeps on rolling
Where the hell did the outer face of the brake rotor actually go. I mean how did it break free
skim it, be ok for another 10k
Wow, took me a minute to even comprehend what I was seeing there.
I love seeing people act shocked “😳” when they see something not normal, hell I just laugh and say yep it happens
That rotors look pretty cool! Maybe soo that will be the new trend for drifter mod Nissans

Ray you should start a wall of shame and start it by hanging that rotor on the wall
Yeah I haven’t seen one like that come in our shop since a year ago!!
Customer says "Can you fix it, they are the original parts from when it was new"
I'm 65yrs old and i've never seen someone using 1/2 a rotor like that. LOL

Umm… Epic fail.. This is what happens when you play your radio to loud.😂
Impressive is a bit of an understatement for that.
Is better burn that think to kill the rodents living inside that!!
The rotor is beyond squeaking i thought some kind of joke a rotor can look like a gear
Thats wall art if I ever did see it!!! Impressive…amazing…just wow…must have hearing problems or something along those lines.
I’ve been turning wrenches since the 80s and never seen that. I don’t even know how the sparks weren’t flying out of that wheel

😂 Anti corrosive chassis modification…
that poor car
Holy s……
It’s a wonder the axle boot didn’t bite you
I'm 37 and I've never seen a rotor like that!! Yikes!!
😱😱😱😱
Change the oil and send it.
And the oh no song playing in the background lol
That is crazy
Making a video for Just Rolled In, lol
I had a cracked disk on a lorry and that jumped when braking so what did this do with half the disk missing.
That right CV joint looks toast, too. It amazes me to no end how clueless some people are.
I thought the gouge in a rotor in a fellow student car was bad but this is unbelievable.
Seeing the other old damage to this car, I would have to say off to the breakers with it or send it to a demolition derby somewhere.
Whoever is here because seen the genesis coupe i just want you to know that your 2.0 is slow
This customer.. was it a woman?
OMG didnt think that was possible
JUST SPEACHLESS… WTH….!!!
Wow! I have no words…
That thing wants setting on fire.

No one gonna talk about that axel tho
This is why we need to bring our cars in for a chuck up anualy. Its mendatory. From the Netherlands.
After seeing the rotor I could not stop staring at the blown axle boot also.

sweet song underneath
