Okey-doke So here's what we're gonna do. Go and get this intake kind of set up here. and I'm going to pull this little gasket out because we got a new one. These are kind of reusable, but this one's uh, it's been here a while so we're gonna change it out with a new one.
We don't want this thing to develop a leak later and then we gotta do it all again. So gaskets on! Let's go ahead and set that down in there. And if you recall earlier, we had two studs and like four bolts or whatever. So let's go fetch the hardware.
Okay, now there's this little bracket that goes on. It's just going to provide some mounting points for other hardware and it also adds a bit of rigidity to, uh, this assembly right here. Oh, where's my studs? Let me find my studs. Be right back.
(ahem)…………"Sucked in"………..(ahem) 😜😜😜😜😜😜
Did this on a Fiat many years ago Awaiting new gaskets for the weber carb, blocked the manifold with a piece of cotton cloth. Gaskets arrived refitted carb fired it up lots of miss/back firing cleared and ran ok while throwing bits of burning cloth out of the tailpipe!
Good one Ray! 😆
Well good morning Ray 🌄 what's today's agenda LOL 🤣
I remember this one. You trolled us with it.
Ray.
Not buying it that you forgot the towels.
Even the good mechanics make mistakes but I am confident that you caught that one.
Another possibility is that you did that on purpose to see the reaction of all the armchair experts that watch your channel.
Keep the good content going.👍👍👍.
REEEEEE!!!!!!!!
So????? What happened? I think everyone cringed when you put that intake on.
I noticed this in the video but assumed you realized later and fixed it but didn't mention it in the video, because at the end of the video you fired up the car and it was running fine. …. Way too early for April fools!
Nothing too see here, just click bait…
Reeeeeee😂
Add STP for constipation relief.
I wonder how many of us clicked on this thinking it was a new video ?
So what you saying, the the cat is plugged up…………..
I had a throttle stuck partly open on my Jeep. When I got pulled over and checked, a shop rag had somehow been sucked into the air intake, through the filter, down the crossover, and into the throttle body.
I know a man that left a shop towel in the lifter galley. It TOTALLY destroyed that engine. It wasn’t pretty AT ALL!
I thought he does a mistake in each video lately to have "comment generator" & boost the algorithm 😅
Keeps the audience on their toes
Did that once with a Durango while doing an oil cooler. It ran. But misfired like a mofo. As soon as I started it I remembered 🤣no valves hurt in the making of that screw up. Lmao
Ray I like short too. I can’t believe you forgot the towels you set these people up to reee. Nice
RE?
what a waste of time.
I guess if you are desperate for you tube pennies you got to do what you can so you can buy your coffees
I wondered about that when I watched it mentally saying to myself..Nooooo! lol. Good fun with Ray.
SALUTEThe benefits of a short video. No ads.
I posted a comment on the original video noting that he left the towels in. I didnt get a response back so I had to assume he took them out and did not show us.
For those of you who think Ray actually left the towels in the ports, reread the title of this video!
When I saw this in the first video, I assumed there would be a 'gotcha' moment at the end or a follow-up video.
Ray, trolling us…
You have to go back a couple of videos and you'll see where he appeared to leave the blue towels in. But on that video as on this he must have caught it and removed them off camera because that car started up and ran just fine at the end of the video and had the towels been left in it would not have run. My guess this short clip is in response to all the flack he got about the previous video.
The towels were on the cowl at the end of the original video. Ray even announced the towels being collected. Kind of funny how he has certain viewers going along with the gag, while others fall for it.
Academy Award winning…Trolls taught him well😎
paper towels absorb oil for maximum lubrication. SCIENCE!
BEST old vid trolling ever…… 🙂
Ray is bored again!!! 😂😂😂😂
Why is everyone freaking out?!?! The towels are blue. That means they're good. It's okay if the engine eats them!!
🙃
Hi from uk ray 👋👍 you are NOT sucking me with this one "" NICE TRY "" 😂 and the towels where ""blue"" so we know they are good 👌 thanks for your time be safe and see you soon 👋
Older Vid Rays Trolling lol He said in original vid Yes I did remove the towels lol Good one Ray You too good a mechanic for us to believe you actually did that Have a great day
193rd! Good Monday morning Ray and the wife unit! That goes double for the new employees! Roger in Pierre South Dakota.
Reeeeeeeee…… you can’t do that 😂
Ray's gone fishin'. Catch'em up Ray!
We all need a dose of roughage to keep us cleaned out.
fake fake fake.i'm taking a rainman break.
I remember this, but knew he would remove them.
Ray the TROLL 🤣
that old video what is that 🙃
Stop trolling Ray we know you took the towel out
Blue rags in all the ports lol
Will it run? Only if you soaked the towels in brake cleaner 🙂
What about the blue rag in the head on the left side
Ahhh, you didn't get me this time. better luck next time Ray. I saw through your scam. Nice try
Ray be trolling us
So many of us commented on this, in the original video. I wonder is this just to give everyone else a chance to catch up, before he fesses up…
Damy it way too short, before i even blink one time the video stop😂
Ray is polishing the valve stems.😂😂😂👍🇦🇺
A trolling we will go, A trolling we will go, hey ho, the air won't flow, A trolling we will go. Ray, you gave it away when you had to look for the studs, never going to happen.
Camera-Angle changed – so he trolled us.
Very old video – i remember.
Will never forget, how he used blue loctite on the bold for the oilpand and sent it with his ridget-gun – just, after he explained to us, some customers say<. "But at XXX the work is cheaper".
Well done! I laughed the whole day!
Don’t go away cos part 2 is gonna be a great video!
Don't worry they will just blow out the exhaust. 😂😂😂
As soon as I saw the vid was only 52 seconds long, I thought, ha ha, he's got me !
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Gotta be trolling us 😂
I assuming he’s being funny, but ive forgot to do things many times while wrenching on my own stuff, most recently i forgot to tighten the timing belt tensioner pulley when i did the timing belt on my Hyundai.. i remembered at 2am 😂
That's not airtight, you used the wrong welder! It's aluminiumumum
Lol i had some fun with this a while ago. If im being completely serious. It could potentially cause some issues if left inside the manifold. Its standard practice to clear all the error codes on the OBD device and making sure they don't come back or new ones don't pop up. The short run time at idle it would required to do this wouldn't be enough to cause any harm to the engine. I've made this mistake before along with hundreds of other technicians. When I did it, the shop towel got soked with gas and clang to the inside of the port. Perhaps if I had shoved the towel all the way down to the valves. The way you would if you were trying to clean them. They most definitely didn't tell me in school that its ok to forget shop towels down the intake. They did however tell me its important to check and re-check my work before handing off the keys.
I C You have pre-troll the trolls before they can troll you…. NICE 🙂
Ray you ole shade tree mechanic!! 🫡
An obvious plant by ray to trigger the Reeeeee's lol
I did that on my grand caravan years ago. I had blue shop towels in the runners when my neighbor asked me a question so I set the intake down on the engine and walked over. Came back, bolted the intake down and started it. After I hit the gas it started misfiring bad. I had forgotten about the towels. Luckily the intake valves stopped the towels from going in the cylinders. I was able to get most of the towels out of the runners with one of those flexible 4 jaw pullers for dropped nuts and bolts. I couldn't get the last bit of towel out of one of the cylinders so I pulled the plug and started it. It blew out the spark plug hole in a few seconds. Luckily I didn't have to pull the lower intake manifold but I was ready to. luckily the van ran fine with no lasting effects!
Rug oh. I noticed that.
50 bucks saids he took them out when this clip ended and never put first bolt in
I caught that in the original video and commented on it. He must have attempted to start it and back tracked to find his mistake. Fortunately, rags in the intake are less damaging than dropping a nut or bolt. I'm glad you at least published your mistake, but you could have published your "No starten ze car" part! 😅
Just turn the engine over by hand and pull them out individually and each valve opens, don't ask me how i know. Silly mistakes when you're expected to be productive and a babysitter at the same time in two separate shops.
Well that just sucks…right i to the chamber. I hope he put some cleaner on it so it could wipe down that cylinder.
Say it ain’t so….
Proving to the customer that it wasnt you like shaggy
Ray loves to troll!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
those are "disappearing towels" made by david copperfield…..everyone knows this geeesh.
Yes
Most of us caught it in the original video Ray! We also saw the cut… We KNEW you were trolling us!!! 😆😆😆
It never gets old. Lol😅
Reee!
Aye, he trolled us with this one when he first uploaded the full video.
The power of editing 😂
Oh brother……..
Where art thou !!!
What tyhe hell is this????? 52 seconds of Nonsense!!!
Resealing the valley plate on a sienna, I installed the lower intake and instantly wondered, "did I pull all the towels?" Grabbed the scope and looked in each port. No towels but a bit of blue fluff in one so I rigged a tube to run the vacuum into each port.
You know, I would be impressed if you really forget to pull rags out at some point.
I once assembled a blown 565 CI BBC drag race engine with a rag left in the valley. The first run went OK with no problems, upon the startup in the pits before the second run it had no oil pressure. We pulled the filter and found all this fluff in the oil. We took it back to the workshop and pulled it down and there were bits of rag wrapped around everything including the cam, oil pump drive, crank, timing gears, oil pump gears. We cleaned as much out as we could and ran it in the workshop, dropped the oil again, the sump and filter and cleaned as much out as we could. New oil and filter, put it back together and ran it the next day in competition flawlessly. That motor ran for years after that incident and as far as I'm aware is still running today.
I did see that, but I know he's good, so really didn't happen. Keep us on our toes Ray. U Da Man…
We’re is the towels…🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
You no foolah me, You make ah the trick.
I’m in town from San Diego. Came by your shop, I really wanted a selfie with you but there is no “doorbell” 😢
April fools
I CALL TROL……Have you been dranking out of the fish bowl again…….lol
Not ideal but is a mincer.
Here’s a stud 😂
After market air cleaner, no problem.😅
If you live in Florida, trolling is legal only in the ocean!
This reminds of the co-worker who left red shop rags in the valley of a 4.3. I fished those out the distributor hole. But that wasn’t his biggest mistake. Not putting oil in a car before he left for lunch. It was a Taurus. He made it about a mile then called wanting some motor oil and said, don’t tell daddy!
It’s the only way to clean O2 sensors.
Without a comment from Ray on this, I'd have to say he made a mistake and own up to the viewers. Without that and seeing the videos on this repair, i would not recommend taking my vehicle there for repairs of service. Sure, everyone makes mistakes once in a while but the proper thing to do is tell the viewers the truth. Otherwise it makes him and his business look bad. Word spreads quit over social media. And for those who say he's just trolling us, you don't know that for sure. Still bad for business until he himself comments on what really happened. Just saying.
