Come along with Eric O. at the SMA shop as we have a look at this 2000 Toyota 4runner 3.4 4x4 that came in with the service engine soon light on and a P0136 O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 2 stored in the memory. We take a minute to run some quick tests to verify the problem and run a drive cycle after the repair is made to confirm the fix. -Enjoy!!

Very good video I just did the bank 2 sencer 1 heater circuit malfunction it stopped work on my 1998 Toyota Camry V6 3.0,, same thing happened to me I ordered one and had the right server box but when I opened it up it was the wrong one, I mean im no Mechanic but I had enough experience to catch that you know. So I went to the parts store and bought the right one and put it in and works pretty good job well done. But very good video as all the videos I seen that you put out my friend
Ain't worth it to buy a car in the north.
No Sir !!
The money light ๐
๐
why was the driveshaft spinning on the rack ? Seems odd, leave it in neutral maybe ?
edit: Just noticed after the install … It was a stick shift in neutral, that explains it !
They must consider you Second Hand. Apparently they've never seen your work. GREAT ERICK!
Man you are the best! Exactly what I was looking for. I do mechanic service for friends and family and your videos have been of tremendous help and guidance. Thank you sir.
Are Denso o2 best for Toyota? Are they OEM?
Hey guys I have a question about this code p0136. I replaced mine 2 times and the code continues to coma back after 2 miles of driving, I hooked up my
Scanner and was watching the live data. There is no power to it it shows zero voltage any one els come across this???
It sucks when it happens because itโs time lost. I feel for you because it happened to myself many times
I'm so glad that Mrs O is getting better around the camera
Come on Eric, give Mrs. O a hand with those boxes.
Helpful
Nice idea
is that the upstream sensor located before the catalytic converter or after. i have the same code on my 99 4runner 3.4L sr5
1998 chevy s10 – both of mine are welded on – have to buy a new converter
I also have a 3.4 2000 4Runner with the need to change the rear oxygen sensor. Is it better to buy it OEM or is Denso ok?
Awesome video man
Question… Is it safe to ignore codes for the rear o2 for a while? I don't have the time to fix mine this month. Thanks for great content.
Eric, would that missing O2 test option be available on the Varis or another diagnostic tool?
Ok, this real experience!
Eric O is straight up surgical with the oxy acetylene torch.
Eric….and Mrs 'O and some 'dodgy' rare earth magnets….' ย Parental Guidance Advised….Merry Christmas to you all…
Did you say you were doing a "frame" on a murano????
Love the close-up camera work on torching those nuts off. You are the torch master, Eric!
Eric, at Toyota on these we use Techsteam to monitor O2 sensor data and it gives us real time input on impedance of the circuit and current to the heater, going from memory here (don't quote me!) cold impedance is like 21K ohms and decreases as it heats up so the ECU knows approximate temperature. So, if it does not see any impedance (unplugged) it sets that code. I didn't see those parameters on your scan tool?
Wow. You get one Toyota a year to work on.
Thereโs no risk to ecu damage by checking the signal wire with 12v?
I like the new electric ice pic. gives me an idea…
Learned some helpful tips, thanks!
Which would you rather get first, tap and die set or thread chaser set?
Hey! I get a p1130 but only when the headlights are on. Wtf. Could a weak electrical system cause this? No leaks, new sensors, ohmmeter reads happy. Weird. Seriously.
Ah, good to see a manual transmission 2000 4Runner! Sad that itโs so hard to find a vehicle with a manual transmission these days…especially trucks! anyway, good video as always! Hope you guys have a Merry Christmas and happy New Years!
Merry Christmas to you and family. I really like your channel and the things you share. You help me fix a better sandwich! Lol
Dude, I wouldn't even know how to deal with rust. Tech from Florida
Now that's one fancy test light ๐
your a surgeon with that torch, ……….. us DIY'ers would've busted off the studs with a wrench and then cried lol
O. I still see that age Toyota all the time here. If you install the test light (turn signal bulb), on the heater circuit, clear the codes, and start the car, the light will come on within 30 seconds or so. Also, you missed a chance to use your Mastertech! It has the factory Toyota software on there for this age Toyota.
Hey Eric ? have you ever changed the timing belt kit on a 2010 Dodge Charger AWD 3.5 litre?
I once had a vauxhall insignia (European Gm) that I was chasing a o2 heater sensor fault on. Couldn't get heater to work ie no control side. was about
to call the box. Then I found that it was turned on when you opened the drivers door .
Drive your toyota numb nuts
Im happy where im at i wouldnt want to own a shop i retire next year dont tell me your not a sanders supporter you still think santa is real typical sanders supporter an keyboard warrior getting angry over a opinion what a panzy ass lol
The people gotta spray their cars. Rust and crust.
That's a awesome test light I want one now. Maybe better make myself one.
Eric O. Another good video waited all day to see it thanks
Nice trick with the torch! Saw you do that before on a F-150 manifold – pretty slick.
I finally got myself a torch setup after wielding MAP gas for 20 years or so. Could get by with that on the old stuff, but not anymore with everything being post-'96 these days (they've improved the bodies, but it seems the undercarriage has taken 20 steps backwards). Now I've got to practice! Thankfully I've got alot of scrap metal laying around to burn up first, before I unleash ย "the wrench of fury" on the customer's stuff. ๐ Once the floor is poured in the new shop, I'll dig the thing out of my barn and actually be able to use it.
I've learned alot about modern electronics from you and Paul Danner (ScannerDanner), but I seem to forget everything the minute I go out into the shop! Sucks getting old, lol. I'm pretty new to OBD-II stuff – I used to refuse it all, until I learned how to troubleshoot the things, just in the past year. I stuck with carbureted stuff (rare these days in cars, but plenty of it in lawn equipment) for the most part. Now I need some more hands-on with the new stuff, so all this new knowledge will sink in. Too many brakes, front ends, ย and tires around here lately! ๐
Thanks for another great one. Time for me to finally go to bed! Merry Christmas to you Eric, and Vanessa, and the rest of the family. ๐
I won't accept opened boxes anymore from any of my local parts store. To many missing parts, wrong parts, damaged obviously mounted and removed parts. It's getting bad. I have the parts guy open the boxes in front of me and you should see all the surprised looks I see. Usually something like " Gee that doesn't look right?"
