Honestly, I hate toolbox tours!! I would rather just see the specialty tools. I have my own toolbox full of tools I have to look at!! I am always interested in tools I don’t have
As a mechanic i don't have to but if i wasn't i would sooner go to the person with all the most upto date tools that charges say for example £60-£70 an hour and have the job diagnosed and fixed in 2 or 3 hours than someone that only uses basic tools and charges say for example £40-50 an hour but takes 10hrs to diagnose and fix the problem, I know who i would use.
i LIVE IN SASKATCHEWAN ITS BEEN – 30 FOR TWO WEEKS AND LOTS OF SNOW SO IF YOU DON'T LIKE – 10 TRY – 30 REMEMBER THAT MINUS 40 IS THE SAME IN BOTH METRIC AND STANDARD MEASUREMENT
Polar Vortex , this winter brother , it's -28 Wind-chill , winds have been non stop for 2 days , up here in Nova Scotia this is just another winter day , people panic over the weather for no reason , whole problem is the News makes the weather a hot topic and beats it to death that puts others in panic . Schools get cancelled before snow even gets here now , years ago school would never get cancelled unless it was white out conditions , we walked to school even 2-3 kms to get there . Now they got to have busses . We live in a pussy generation , sorry but it's the truth .
As for your thoughts about Hyundai and Kia , I just sold my Rust free 98 Infiniti QX4 from down south to couple who had a 2016 Kia with almost blown motor that was knocking very hard , regular oil changes , had all RECIEPTS to prove 5000-6000 Kms intervals and Kia Canada refused to fix the issue all cause the DEALER was not the regular servicer for oil changes , So in my book Kia is JUNK , plus I see quite a few 10 year old Kias and Hyundias in the scrap pilie up here . Keep the vids coming sir , very informative and very educational . You channel is alot better than some these rambling , scrambling morons on you tube .
Honda, Toyota, Datsun. Nissan were rust bucket unreliable cars when they first came out, but the land of the Rising Sun soon learned……………………..also when you use the first tap on transfer case put some grease between the flutes to catch swarf/chips etc.
Mr. O: To answer your question, I was taught as a child thr following response to your Woodchuck query: "A Woodchuck `Would Chuck` all the wood he `Could Chuck`, if a Woodchuck could chuck wood. Hope that answers your question.
Hey I'm sorry to ask something off subject but I know you've had issues with your snap on scanner. I was wondering if you could tell if you've ever had issues with no comm. Issues with yours. Mine is different it's a solus pro. I verified it wasn't the vehicle and tried it on another vehicle of mine I've scanned before. It was a K17 and K20 no comm. I called technical support and after trying a couple things he suggested replacing the cable. I was thinking about trying to probe the leads separate from the scanner to see if I have an intermittent open or short in the cable. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Oversize the hole by a few thousandths but only go in far enough for the first threads take a bite on the tap. I am a Tool and Die maker and have used this method before but you will have to back it out every thread and then go back in.
*it's only tools" Justin the Junkie probably had call his snapon man for emergency therapy session after absorbing that phrase . It more than just tools as you find out if had try replace them all . I don't mind odd video with extra info on tools in use as that can be interesting and useful but lot of the tool tours tend be waste of time really unless you a chrome collector type 🙂 Keep beating those tools lol . see you with those long toptul wrenches a lot, they damn nice and blow lot of truck tools out the game when compare price for equal tool ability .
Ansel Adams was a great photographer not because of the great camera her had but his understanding of light in photography. Don’t look at the tools but the concepts of what Eric’s doing. True professional.
I think you make a valid point. If you were a plumber you would use an acetylene torch and not a propane torch from Home Depot. You customers expect professional diagnosis. This means you need to spend large sums of money to get great results. I have fix my Jeep with the Blue Driver OBD (not a sponsor just a user). You really do not need a 5k scanner to do most work. Does it make it easier. Yes I have a Snap On Versus Pro. It has paid for it self in repairs. Bought it used. Time is money for Eric so as Memaw says… Got to spend money to make some money. Thanks so much for the time you give us even when you are feverishly sick. Thanks
to be fair the home guys still got it fairly easy, modern advances brings them far more technical knowledge than ever before and test equipment has never been cheaper, a 2 channel pico is affordable and very usable and scan tools and programing is affordable and dooable for those hardcore enough want get into it . That Bosch would be the leader if fix those stupid limitations, having that technical data onboard is worth about 3K alone . I am expecting autel/launch do similar but expecting it be more gappy on the data . The thing techs been waiting for is a scan tool that pretty much usable across all the daily basics. Swapping out scan tools half way through a diagnosis or procedure is a pisser as is a cabinet full of scan and flash tools . How Kieth can put up with it day in day out mobile on other shop mess ups etc is beyond me, would drive me nuts lol …
Kia 2700 truck ( workhorse ) the best small truck in the world for the price. Funny thing though .. don’t sell them in USA….there banned for decades now 2018 4×4 ,diesel, 1.3 ton ,dump bed Buy them all day long under $18,000. I own a 2004 in St thomas USVI.. can’t get parts in USA . We take a ferry to Tortola BVI. Buy parts there.. Truck runs strong to this day. Never sell it!
I have a 98 Chevy S10 with just about 103,000 on it, the trans cooling lines finally started leaking at least a month ago. They looked pretty rotted last summer but I waited. I live in MA. How often do these cooling lines last 20 years? BTW – had them replaced, not good to drive with leaking tranny fluid. This is not garaged, parked out in the elements. Thanks Mr. O
PLEASE HELP GAL IN INDY, Here in Indy at all of 11 degrees, have to replace starter on 1995 GMC sierra K1500 v8 manual transmission on our son's truck. I have done it one time before, but asking your opinion on what replacement starter to get??? I got a $65.00 starter last time bout a year and a half ago, and really need to know should I go for the Duralast or AC Delco this time. Have learned so much from watching your vids, you explain everything so that I have a chance to go and do whatever the kids need done on their vehicles. YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW COLD IT IS IN TORONTO CANADA ITS SOO COLD THE SNOWMAN ON THE FRONT LAWN KNOCK ON THE FRONT HE WAMTED TO COME IN TO SIT ON THE COUCH
If the shaft is case hardened, which it probably is. If out how deep the case hardening is on the shaft. Grind through the hardening and then you should be able to tap the shaft. An old machine building process.
Dear Eric, Please forgive me, but I thoroughly enjoyed your pain this morning (1/31/19). Not because I would in any way want you to be in pain but it was just so real. Thank you for bearing up under it and doing the video in spite of it. You truly are a great guy. Hope you are feeling better today. Your friend always (though I know you find that hard to believe all things considered), Jim.

You part of the Dublin Fire Brigade? Must be a heck of run when the fire alarm sounds.

Dope Video! Sending blessing your way, Keep inspiring!🎒🙌🏻
frig off and just buy a real sye, and not a hack-n-tap. It replaces the rear housing and adds a shaft which takes a proper yoke.

You are sick – buying a KIA 👎🏻🤮
Haha, the meteorologists cried wolf here in Georgia and they closed everything and no one got snow or ice, just cold & windy. Stay warm!

How about a tool video where you show off your favorite, must-have, super useful, innovative, etc. tools?

What’s up what ever day is pretty unique. You really never rag on people.lots of good info and interesting topics, you go sma.
Here's some fun you can do with a polar vortex. Go to a higher elevation, piss over the edge and watch it turn to freezing icycles
counterbore with large masonry bit pass the case harden steel
stay warm Eric
Good to have a beard in the winter.
I really like all of the tools you use. That being said you get great use out of the Scope on a rope. Learn lots, keep up the great work.
