People are suspect because of the dishonest mechanics out there. I experienced a brake installer trying to send my truck out with no pedal and a stripped rear bleeder screw. He tried to hide the leaky screw by pinching it closed. It still leaked under pressure. I called him out and got it replaced at no charge. Turns out the manager had been having complaints and issues due to that techs shoddy work and dishonesty.

Had a customer come in for a service and state inspection. Did the service and failed him for rear brakes, pads below spec. . He refused the repair, oil change and inspection were covered under an in house plan. Few minutes lare , him and his wife came back in claiming I didn't change the oil or filter. Making a huge scene, screaming for the manager. I was called out , I pulled the dipstick and asked him if that looked like fresh oil or used? He then pivoted to the filter, claiming the mark on it having been put on by him , an "L" for his daughters name ( WTF?) from the last service. It was a 7 for the amount of oil this service takes. put there by our parts department when the pre fill the order. Nothing doing. Still had to put on another filter in front of him.
He was passed becouse of the failed Inspection. Wanting us to turn a blind eye and pass his truck or give him a free brake job. He got neither…
I dont give a shit if it stains paper or not. Why would it, you just wiped your gloves all over his car. Take your gross ass gloves off before you touch the interior. Put clean gloves on. The hell is the point of using latex gloves if youre gonna be stingey with them to save 5 cents

In the Netherlands, that car would have been pulled from the road by the police as a safety hazard when someone notices those brakes and tires during an inspection. I hate how strict the rules here are sometimes, but thank god for how anal we are about them when it comes to safety.

I work at for a dealership as a lube technician the amount of shit we let out the door is obscene!!! It’s because these type of nice cars but yet they can’t fix or afford any of its repairs… it’s pisses me tf off because with your half way fallen apart car you’re putting lives at danger also the fact is when these typa car get traded in my god the next owner thinks they are getting something then 2 months later they figure out they bought a lemon because the previous owner couldn’t afford repairs just to put icing on the cake there was this truck that came in for an oil change I pulled the plug ZERO oil came out and I pulled the filter nothing but a lil tiny bit of oil with the rest of it being metal shavings I mentioned it to the advisor dude drove 45k miles without getting an oil change. Then he ended up spending a shit loan on a new motor wasting my time even doing the oil change…
I recommend investing in a GoPro or something similar with a head strap. It would make your job filming so much easier.
