In this video I have a look at a GMC Sierra that came into the shop with a complaint of no horn. However, that was it, all other steering wheel functions worked and no air bag light on. Didn't take long to run down the real issue. -Enjoy!

what is a clock spring?
Gremlins .yep
I have seen this sloppy work in many trades . Maybe these guys should have their mothers watch over them . My favorite was watching techs install rounded out fasteners .
Critical problem solving ,not everyone can do it, logical thinking proves your brain works very good, in a world full of airheads
I noticed you checked the cruise buttons as well. Is there a link between the 2?
Because I have no horn no cruise
Well done.
Hi Eric, can you give me the elevator tone, I mean the phone tone
Always interesting always entertaining Eric you deserve over a billion subscribers man!
Generic Made Crap! Thats why that was loose. N probably best buy needed a ground so he Jerryed onto that wire put pressure on that conector and stretched it.
I love it when I am following the troubleshooting tree, and I test something, and it says to skip a bunch of steps. Makes the job so much easier.
Seems to happen more now that everyone is doing airbag recalls.
I've never been brave enough to take an airbag out before. Funny how the ground clip has a robber cover on it, does nothing
Thanks for the video!
The days of using scanners to diagnose horns, wipers, air conditioning and more are upon us. Learn up people! 🙂
On top of everything else and I’m talking about knowledge, this man has a personality. I know some Eskimos that need some refrigerators. You don’t find them like this on every street corner.
Man I wish you was close to here I would bring you a truck just like that on harsh shift in 1-2 cam position sensor abs light stability service and traction control I would pay you to fix it all seems no one here can fix it not even transmission professionals can’t fix it
👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟👍👍
I love a watch your videos. learn a lot to do my own work and and others .but I am having a cluster on a 2002 jeep Liberty rebuilt the motor put it in start and run for like 5 minutes hard vacuum leak fix the vacuum leak start and run for like 5 minutes and then it just died I'm not getting any fuel I'm not getting any spark batteries fully charged I had to locksmith come out and reprogram the key cuz the security code icon was on try to start it the security code kept coming back finally had a mobile mechanic come look at it he has all the fancy gear in the ECU is fried is there anything I possibly did just hooking the wire harness back up that could fry the ECU
They snap together like a Leggo. That ol' South Main high tech troubleshooting terminology. I'm gonna need a class in South Main terminology just to keep up with you guys.🤩🤩🤩
Daniel stern sound alike.. wet bandits… Home alone..🤠😂🤣
Eric. I would like to hear your opinion regarding GMC truck lifter failure and use of AFM deletes and oil catch cans. Are you seeing a lot of lifter failures?
Watched till the end and went ummm perhaps but your really really good at it !
Couldn't you check the horn switch through its connector?
175 amp fuse? That's a powerful horn! lol
Every so often your handed a gift! Then it becomes………."Is this a test?" "Is there a camera car watching from outside?"
Be nice to see or hear the conversation with the owner, yeah, all was wrong was a disconnected ground that didn’t look factory.
Just so you know, you have a viewer from India. I wish we had more Mechanics like you here. Keep up the good work!
Did I hear you right a 175 amp fuse in a truck is that a miss print
Maybe the connector just fell off because it was too loose and didnt have enough grip on the blade ?
The day after watching this video, I didn't pass my State Safety check inspection due to my horn not working. I did just like Eric O and tried my panic button on my remote and the horns worked fine. Then I noticed that some of my steering wheel controls didn't work. Turned out to be a bad clock spring for my car. Expensive part but at least I saved on the labor by doing it myself. Thanks Eric.
Look like your chewing tabacci
How is the auto start working through the factory key fob with no auto start option??
Is that a factory ground terminal? The mystery continues.
I wish the problems on my truck were that easy!!! Hey E send me a message if you can get me a low mileage 98 4.6L w 2 valve. I'm going to have to get the tranny rebuilt and I know the mains are knocking a bit, truck has between 230 and 300k miles on it. The odometer hasn't worked in 4 or 5 years, oddly enough it is working now. stupid worm gears!!!!
what do you charge for that quick if he is a regular customer?
I wonder if how loose that ground strap was if it fell off while making a turn 🤔 @SouthMainAutoRepairLLc
Interesting how the horn ground under the air bag was disconnect that makes more sense then all the buttons on steering wheel working but the horn nice find Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
You had to crimp it down, so probably it was a bad connection from factory that just went loose on its own.
The youtubes kept showing me old 1 year plus videos. I had to actually click on your channel to see this new one
That connector looked a bit loose .. would it have come off on its own ?? ..👍👍👍
The connector probably just came off on its own, loose connection.
WOW great info. AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot keep up the great work
Many models have 2 different horns and circuits for the steering wheel and key fob soundings. Guy at work wired the steering wheel to the security horn and well.. customer complained his horn wasn't loud..
Cameraman – Its got the plastic wire nuts, Its got the busted horn, and it has a motor. What it got Stuntmaaaaaaaaaan.
Safety Glasses at all times. You want to see your Wife and Kids ???????????
Gremlins. That's what did it.
Salutations Eric O!!! I have a problem and I hope you can solve it. A friend of mine brought a 2009 Honda Pilot EX and the scanner reads catalytic converter is below threshold, but the previous owner said that he replace the catalytic converter. I used the scanner and the oxygen sensors reading in the upstream is on the red zone that is slightly higher than normal around 1.2v and the downstream was slightly higher than normal around 1.05 v so I went straight to the oxygen sensors, AFTER the replacements, I used the scanner and the upstream is still at slightly higher than normal around 1.2v and the downstream front was in normal spec of .62v and the downstream rear is the slightly higher because I didn’t replace it yet. What can I do with the upstream issue areas. Thank you for hearing me out of this situation.
