In this video I am tacking care of some equipment at home and that includes my 2013 John Deere 5055E Tractor. I bought the tractor used last year with very low hours on it and the guy I bought it from had just changed the oil so I didn't bother with anything. Now I have put on just about 80hrs since owning it so it is time to carry out some basic maintenance including, engine oil and filter change, lube, fuel filter, air filters, tire pressures and hydraulic filter. -Enjoy

I learned more specifics on this tractor than watching farmer youtubers.
great video !! thanks !!
Thank you for the video. I have a 5075E with about 1300 hours. The Power Reverser keeps freezing up and won't go from Neutral to Forward or Reverse. When it does, I get a "Transmission Information Indicator" Any Thoughts?
Who sells a tractor with 60 hours on it? Man the salt must be bad in NY
the John Deere Police are going show up and give you a good talking too, you are not supposed to work on John Deere tractors. And the fact these new filters are green, you're in big trouble!
I enjoyed every second of your video. Great work man
Nice tractor! Lots of fun with that bad boy.
Thanks for the video!
It's probably Beet Juice.
Hi
You must screw the diptstick to have the wright oil level.
I use strap wrenche for most general applications
By far my favorite newer Deere. I run an 88' 1050 Deere TLB and she's a fuckin beast, bought her being so simple and duty-est perfect for all the work I need from her.
Jesus' himself drove an 88' Deere 1050 TLB too….hard to match up the VIN # tho….but after I think 2015 he swapper to the Deere 5055e for the slightly smoother ride.
It's cool to be a mechanic! You can fix almost everything ๐
Cheers from Russian mechanics!
That is one sweet tractor.
You are a brave man buying a John Deere with those fragile electronics
What attachments do you have? I can see the attachments. How do they mount? Are they made by Deere? You can probably get plugs for the grease fitting holes.
strap wrench man
The hood, or engine cover and fenders are plastic, and subject to UV damage if left uncovered. The replacement cost can be expensive, so best to keep it in a barn or covered.
My sister owned the same model tractor, a very capable machine. It had never been serviced. Changing filters, fluids, a new battery, a new tire, and replacing nibs for greasing the bucket, cost for parts and fluids $1,110. Several trips into town for tools (oil filter wrench) it turned into a two day job. I don't understand why people will spend so much money on equipment and not pull the service on it.
Love my ol 47 Ford…use to pull with it at antique tractor pulls…it has had a six cylinder conversion. Even at low rpm's it'll wheelie a few feet off the ground.
neat trick using the air line to create a vacuum, that's experience right there.
You should mark the date and the mileage on your filter with a black marker then you can tell when it is dew from the last oil change was done.
Great video! We love your commentary!
Made in America! Yeah baby!
"Got a 5 incher and it's thick!" LOL!
Carolina Creeper๐
You should NEVER use after market hydraulic filter on tractor. Ok to use aftermarket filters on fuel and oil. Nor use filter wrench tightening hydraulic filter.
No no no no fill your fuel filter up first before installing and bypass all that priming crap.
I can't believe John Deere is made in Chyna.๐ค
i have a 3 cyl 22hp yanmar.
I was hoping you would cover the hydraulic pick up screen when you changed the filter.
John Deere have a Japanese engine, Yanmar.
turn the wheels to the right
Dude !!! Why you put it on that tight !! Next guy hates you .. just saying… lmao ๐คฃ spray some brakleen on a rag grab the filter with it.. you get super human strength. Don't beleave me try it next time you have a tight filter ๐
Whoa, in my opinion you'll be taking that filter off with a 36" pipe wrench
@ 5 :23 " got a 5 incher and its thick !" ….. you must know my wifes boyfriend ? ๐
Love the video
Thanks
Hi, Eric. I was not surprised that the tractor was made in China. Thanks for NAPA. Thanks for sharing! Stay Healthy!
But the parts aren't J D Green! Bothers my OCD.
It has a nice good hood seal keeps that radiator clean!
Love the smell of gear oil in the morning. Yeah, not the same, just changed out fluids in my pressure washer. Made a little mess in my neighbors sidewalk … right next to his Biden sign.
Been thinking about trading the 3032e in for one of these
Your own John Deere? I hope that you do not have any electronic problem because they will not be friendly about diagnosing or computer programing. See "Right to repair" issues. Love your work.
Find some rubber plugs gor grease points
Liking the tractor projects.. Good choice of colour too
I use new rubber gloves clean to grip filter. Hands become like jaws.
Great video buddy! LoL Madonna… question: there is no need for bleeding air out of the hydraulics after the filter change? Thanks for the 5055e video, I have a 5065e and it is hard to find how to videos for it.
Thanks man. This was a great video.
Outstanding tractor servicing video – new subscriber. Thank you!!!
