In a Previous video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIUxF3iAIwo&t I had a look at a poor running Nissan Altima with a P0011. I determined it need some new cam timing solenoids. The parts are here so let's see how it turned out. -Enjoy!

I'm having the same issue and going to buy two sensors to replace on my car. Thanks for explaining the mechanics in detail.
Mr. and Mrs. O, yall rock.
bag the music please
Honestly this case study is beyond my abilities, both in skill and diagnostic tools. Eric is the best I’ve ever seen. SMA
Learn about the Nissan there
What was wrong with EGR valves? All this VVT crap is for is emissions and it just takes the place of an EGR valve. Now we as techs have to figure out the cause and correction of the VVT. COME ON MAN!
Had one of these altima pos's. Got a p0011 two different times. Both times was the timing chain being too loose. The second time I cut my losses and took it straight to the scrap yard where it belonged.
Oh my what I would do to have him working in my town. He would be a millionaire. Not enough diagnostic mechanics around here only plug it in mechanics.
Is it just me, or are there a lot of white houses/buildings in your area? I think the only two buildings that aren't white are your building (which is kind of a baby-blue) and that HUGE red barn. Just sayin'…
When I hear Dorman all bets are off, a lot of problems are caused on these cars if the dealer does a head gasket, they pull the cover back instead of taking it off and it jacks up the "O " ring in the cover that runs the cam pulleys
System operation is key to proper Diagnostics great video SMA
Was that a dorman part or a dormant part? I think the latter.
Who kept opening the door and not saying anything
Thanks Eric O!!! Darn Dorman parts.
as always great video!
Ah yes, gotta love the engine roar to a CVT.
That cvt sounds like a sowing machine, I had a 2012 Altima rental car that sounded like that.
CEL? MIL?
I could probably have fixed this myself. I don't have the fancy scan tools or .01% of Eric's diagnostic skills, but I do know that if a part says "Dorman" it is likely the problem.
I thought only Honda has VTECH?
I've been a viewer for awhile and you have taught me a lot about electronics. You have made my job easier and I thank you for that.
hey eric is their any new videos coming up soon?
We're you at need a new video
Great videos. You are very entertaining and knowledgeable. Feature more of you super hot wife!
hey there–question to you, WE HAVE A HONDA CIVIC DX HYBRID—THE BATTERY LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN IT IS IDLING AND WHEN WE DRIVE IT , IT GOES OFF , BUT COMES BACK ON EVERYTIME WE STOP AT A LIGHT—WE CHANGED THE BATTERY AND IT STILL DOES IT—I PICKED UP A VOLTAGE REGULATOR THAT COST ME 200 DOLLAR ON EBAY BUT DIDN'T PUT IT IN YET, SHOULD I HOOK IT UP ELECTRICALLY FIRST AND SEE IF TAKES THE BATTERY LIGHT OFF, I JUST HOPE IT DON'T NEED A DAMN ALTI NATOR TOO
I need my SMA fix. Miss y'all, even the running air compressor. Hope to see you soon.
Hey there South Main. Remember the limo crash in Albany that killed 20 (likely because the brakes failed)..
ALBANY, N.Y. – Workers at a Mavis Discount Tire shop falsified records to make it look as if they completed brake work on a limousine before it crashed and killed 20 in Schoharie, New York, last year, when in actuality the work was never performed, according to the shop's former manager.
Virgil Park, who managed the shop until he was terminated in February, told prosecutors last month that he purchased a brake master cylinder on May 4, 2018, for the 2001 Ford Excursion stretch limo.
But the part, which converts force from the driver's foot into hydraulic pressure on the brakes, was never installed despite an invoice saying it was.
Park claims the part was returned to Advance Auto Parts eight days later, according to a letter filed in court last week by Schoharie County District Attorney Susan Mallery, whose office conducted the interview.
there's a lot more in the link below.
I have a 1991 Jeep Wrangler with a permanent locker in the rear. While I was driving home from a easy trail ride it started to clank over and over again when the gears were being forced to turn. It happened in neutral also. Will be opening the pumpkin later today. When I say clank I mean it sounded like a toolbox being thrown around Over and over
Love your channel, I too am in upstate NY. I worked at a Buick, GMC,Pontiac, caddilac dealership for 14 years detailing then the parts department. You remind me of the A techs we've had as you are very meticulous about diagnosing stuff. I love how you tackle stuff slot of places would be scared to touch. Keep up the excellence. You are absolutely the last of a dying breed.
Holy cow Mr. O! I love my '64 Chevy C-10. A screwdriver, hex and a timing light…. Brilliant diagnosis and bravo to learning the system as others have said and sharing.
WHERE IS ERIC!?!?!
Make another video I miss you 🙁
More over engineered, useless, failure prone garbage….stick with pushrods…
Eric, I really like your videos. You are a very ethical mechanic sir, your customers are blessed to have you. I just wish you were in W.V. , you would have my business. God bless you and your family.
I would love to work and learn from you as I know a lot about vehicles but damn you are so smart it’s insane, if you were to call me and ask if I wanted to work there I’d drive 1600 miles right after the phone call just to learn from you.
Eric i have two broke coil packs on my Toyota . Do you recommend factory or do you know of a good after market one?
Going up north on the 11 from Florida. Try to drop in have a birthday present For you. It will keep you busy when you’re not busy.
The problem is the first word of this vid-j-o. 😂
My think bone hurts
Love the cruisin' tunes!
Hello Eric. I see you have multiple scan tools I will be purchasing my own my shop has a autel. What scanner do you like the best. It will be used for most both foreign and domestic. Love the channel by the way!
…. or the nut behind the wheel…
I enjoy all this electronic sorcery but miss the ball joint, front end and brake videos which to me are oddly satisfying……LOL
I'm pretty sure Eric talks just as much when he isn't recording a video as he does when he's on camera. I can imagine being in the shop and hearing "whoa, fella!" throughout the day.
Million views idea for anyone that has the talent.. You know how they have the "Epic Rap Battles of History"? Well we need the "Epic Rap Battles of YouTube Mechanics".. The first absolutely needs to be South Main Auto Vs. Scanner Danner…😂😂😂😂😂
Hey I have an important question. I live in NY, Utica area. I'm about to buy a 88 suburban with 47k miles, 2wd and the frame is pretty solid just with normal scale, I really want to baby this thing. If I prepped it correctly would rust converter painting then using cosmoline hardening wax do a good job preserving the B+ frame condition? Have any other advice. I want to have it for a long time.
I knew what VVT stood for but it never occurred to me how it worked. Shame on me. Thanks to Prof Eric's class, VVT 101, I now feel I could own a Nissan, (if not for the CVT). Thanks Professor!!
I wouldn't own one of those cars If they GAVE me one. I have heard so many bad things about that garbage dumpster on wheels. People buying those things are only kidding themselves thinking they are a good vehicle. A Subaru or Honda would be a better choice. Scotty Kilmer probably loves them.
Dorman gave you another down thumbing.
