What is a good tool for ball joint removal
Just a few minutes ago I watched as a tech used water to lubricate the bolt and hub holes. It caused the rust to come out when he vibrated the disk. Pretty nifty.
Totally my favorite? Why are near death experiences so funny? I laugh everytime!
I've been almost knocked out by the long drag link on a super duty, smacking it with a pickle fork and hammer and standing in the wrong spot. Managed to dodge it with similar cat-like reflexes, next time I'll just stand out of the way and put the nut back on a thread or two.
My mazda 6 rotor is stuck like this right now a 5lbs sledge and oxy/map torch didnt take care of it so Im going to get a puller tomorrow. Wouldnt it be nice if they used some sort of wizardry to prevent rust on cars.

Your video inspired me to try the same technique with my biggest and best Harbor Freight puller on my 2003 Grand Cherokee. I used my brand new Milwaukee 18 Volt impact set on power level 3 of 4. Hey watch this… It was spectacular when it finally went ping. I was prepared but it still scared the crap out of me. Somehow the HF puller survived too. Your videos are so helpful for understanding how to work on rust belt cars because I live in Arizona and never dealt with this level of difficulty. Thank You
Thanks for sharing the danger to life and limb, I’ve got rear rotors on my v70 to do on the driveway, covid lockdown has increased the rust . Hopefully my Volvo won’t be a serious health hazard
I see so many using that puller and it flies off. Leave 2 lug nuts threaded partially on opposite ends and that won't fly off. I'd rather eff up a lug nut or a stud than end up in the ER.
What is the attachment you are using on your air hammer, when you press it against the stuck rotor? Rubber or metal ended bit? Thanks.
Had a Dodge pick up that had drum brakes and couldn't remove hubs so I got a sledge hammer and went to town, had to go get hub puller.

That safety strap can't be on right. Unless it straps behind the hub in back, it appears to be useless.
Reminds me when I had to remove the steering wheel from my Citroen to fix the speedometer. It needed some persuation. So I yank it off with full body weight and slam it right on my nose. Nose didn't break but omg did that hurt. No saying, the next time I had to do it on another car I left the nut on with some slack.
I had a wheel bearing did that to me. Luckily after I put the pulley on I had stepped away to take a break. That thing flew a few miles away. Legend has it, its still flying. Happy to see you weren't hurt
I sell Flexzilla air hose and for the light duty and homeowner I love them. For the HD high use guy their durability is suspect.
Mazda 3 on jack stands, hitting the rotor with a mini-sledge with a friend hitting it from under the car for over an hour. That’s how you do it in a driveway. It was only the driver side front, the rest were easy in comparison.

As a backyard mechanic, I've used a crowbar, that was the only thing that could get those damed rusted on rotors
I had same problem same car mine was even worse bought the same tool, STILL wouldn't come off, I finally got a torch and cut the whole rotor in half!!! For some reason the hub causes the original rotor to form a mushroom over it and it becomes solid.

Why dont you lube the sliders where the pads ride. I was always instructed to do that.

Had a 2000 Durango with the rotor stuck on the hub. Ended up slowly lowering the rotor onto a jack stand to finally brakes it loose and I was working in my driveway

I had a front brake drum on a 71 El Camino that took me like a hour to convince to come off. It was my first brake job. In my driveway but I got it off.

Loosen the lug nuts a little. Get in car and get moving a little then hammer the brake. Has worked for me so far.

I cut with a sawzall and fine metal or cast Iron cutting blade from the outside edge of the rotor in through the rotor brake surface and stop cutting just shy of the hub the rotor is stuck on. Then take a cold chisel and tap it into the slot. This will flex the rotor and help break the rust free. Just make sure you are careful cutting and don't hit anything on the inside. If it's really bad cut it a second time 180. It really doesn't take that long and is easier then beating it with a hammer.

Putting 2 lug nuts on a couple threads would prevent flying a cross the room. I have never seen that much violence. Glad your OK.
Gives a distinct pucker factor. Heavier puller and put the strap around the spindle. Yard sale find antique crane puller will pull it off or snap it in 2.
I use the rotor puller almost every day and one thing I found saves you a lot of Hassles or dings in the floor is to just put a wheel nut on loosely Or two on big rotors

I use a die grinder with a cut -off wheel to cut across the face of the rotor and hub. Then use a wheel puller to crack the rotor in half to get it off. No drama.
Never had to use an air wrench here on brakes ever….

That rotor was S T U C K! Glad you were light on your feet Eric O ! I had never seen a rotor stuck that bad. I thought you were going have to break out the dy-no- mite!
Put two or three lug nuts on to keep the rotor from flying off.
Like a second camera angle that shows you doing the two-step as that rotor comes flying towards your toes.
