In this video we have a look at a used 2003 Subaru a customer of ours just purchased from the used car dealer. It looks shiny and smells nice but when we get underneath it, it is a different story. Tell me what you think? -Enjoy!

I noticed an NHRA decal on your tool box , did you or do you drag race ? And I enjoy your videos , you’re a good mechanic , Murray from 🇨🇦
Those are hugely lucky customers, but why, why, why do folks fail to get a pre-purchase inpection? If the dealer won't cooperate, the customer has the answer right there – move on.
The good old "post purchase inspection" you know it will be a banger.
If you were caught using “the judge in Australia you would end up on a losing lawsuit for unnecessary damage
100% getting ripped off buying a Subaru of any price. Faulty engines that blow consistently after 100,000. Everything else is great but the engines are junk
They should have had you look at lt before they gave money fore it
Damn that things rough.
My 05 isn't like that and salt belt Whole life.
I'd take 5 grand for it all day, 188k miles and a whole lots of new shit because I keep having to fix it. Lol.
Rear brake lines fuel lines and I forgot what else hahaha,.
Recent water pump and timing components new radiator.
Plugs n wires.
Some other stuff. It's starting to rot body wise, fender well one spot.
Solid car though. Lather ll bean edition.
I wouldn't sell that car to anyone over 1200 with that rot. It's a one year car a hold over.
I unsubscribe because buying used car is private business
Let's Pick-A-Part your customers car and embarrass him a boat how shity of a deal he got let's call it a Krusty Krab
You are one honest mechanic!
Also, very funny.
Ours had a problem with front crankshaft sealant, then the oil just flush out….. most things lasted 430 000 km. So they bought a 20 y old car without looking at it…
Not the first "nice looking" subaru ive seen with rotted out rear jack points. i guess they make them to fail just like ford GM and chrysler. Can anyone design a car that doesnt have built in rot points?
Why didn't they ask you to check it before they paid for it?
that road is atrocious
It's awful what northeast winters will do to a cars undercarriage. You really need to get rid of cars in 10 years or less.
500$ subaru*
I would not feel
safe under that car. Rust is a killer.
The rust is up to them.
Nice job glad they brought it to you that was the right choice!
Should definitely pay you to inspect them first. Tarted up to look good and sold. Hope she got her money back.
Such level of corrosion has more to do with humidity in the air or instead with salt on the roads?
What a thoroughly nice Gentleman, I really like this guy. Honest and goes well above keeps all us subscriber's and keeping his customers happy. Good on you Brother. Keep up the amazing work. Merry Christmas to you and your family Sir 🎅👍
Why do people get inspected AFTER the purchase??
Every time I watch an episode of SMA I feel like I'm at Mechanic's College and there will be a short quiz at the end
There is Toyota, then Honda and the people that want fun and don't care about reliability they buy Subaru, the Junk of Japan.
So glad to not live in the "rust belt" anymore! It's awesome to buy a 10+ year old vehicle with minimal rust that's still super solid. Vehicles cost more because of that but it's worth it.
I was a bus mechanic and had a few new parts that were new or refurbished but they failed
For Minnesota standards that’s one solid frame
i'll never own another one. terrible engines, mediocre vehicle that drives pretty good. massively underpowered, constant fears of engine destruction.
If the dealer didn’t take it back, send Vinnie and his crew to pay ‘em a visit.
Hey bud in one of your videos know where you're located at because I notice everything you work on yours just a bucket loader rust on it I live about the Centre California and we just don't see that kind of rust on our vehicles out here
Subaru Foresters the biggest POS on the road every Subaru as far as I'm concerned is worth the price of scrap that's it. One i would avoid buying at all costs.
In New Zealand that car would never get on our roads it'll be wrecked
“The famous Subaru knock sensor” oh that’s why I pick so many knock sensors at work. I work in a Subaru warehouse 3 hours away from you hahaha
I would be scarred to go under that car.
Peeps should be glad there's a few honest dudes like you still around
I live in the salt/rust belt too, every time I change my oil I pour the old oil into my pump up sprayer deal and soak the whole underside of mine. Still as solid as a rock.
and I thought it was just us in the uk that had to deal with this type of rust worm man that rough ( bloody salt)
2000 tops.
Su"boohoo"
Got a better Subie joke for you Subaru Backwards U R A BUS
The east coast rust demon strikes again.
Nice to see all the American flags on Main Street.
Car crusher time.
I don't understand why people buy these. They are nothing but trouble.
I use to beg my customers to get a free Pre purchase inspection.
If this were in Alabama.. Ole girl would have another 20-30 yrs in her.
That’s the wrong filter, you have your hoist lifting on the unibody mount and telling someone to get rid of it.
Just take your 5k, and finance a new car or a lease. You spend half your life driving around. Why buy a used rusted shit heap when 5k can get you a new safe comfortable one, though with a monthly bill.
GOOD NEWS! Just spoke with the customer, they returned the car to the dealer and he refunded them ALL of their money! He (used car dealer) also called me in total disbelief that the car was so rotted and had other issues. I think he did the right thing. *Please folks if you are looking to buy a used car have it checked out by a mechanic BEFORE any money exchanges hands* These folks got lucky the problem was resolved easily.
