I think he does a tremendous good job working on any vehicle He’s working on at least I’m not doing it I don’t have the patience
Patience of a Saint Mr O.
It could have been worse, it could be snowing 🌨. Wait it was snowing.
eric the reason those bolts are a bitch to get off is because mazda designed them to strip when you remove them thus a trip to the dealer for new ones. Burroughs made a particular screw in their office machines that when removed it stripped itself and you had to buy a new one from Burroughs as the machine would not work unless that particular screw was installed. The company made thousands of dollars on service calls because of that one screw.
Eric you really need to have in-force by BG around, this stuff is the stuff that works, all that other crap you use is OK for the majority but when you need something to work this stuff is it. Splurge get a can and use it when you get the nightmare like this one. I got turned on to this stuff when we sold BG brake fluid flush at dealership, never had a broken bleeder using this stuff, a clogged one yes. This stuff is magic in a can, don't know what makes it so good but I use it sparingly on everything metal mechanical including door latch mechanisms at home.
Good series Episode Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
The Exhaust Nuts Don't come On on most Mazdas Here is Arizona Either I don't think it's a rust problem I think they are 1 use Nuts because there A type Of Lock Nut Is the only thing I could Firgure out Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
I know I'm about 3 years late but not one mechanic can say they get every bolt or every bracket back into every car every job I would have came close to calling it with the bolt stuck in the sleeve
Pretty sure you Can't call that bolt a "Slave" anymore, so Sorry Sir.
Can you keep it down .too much noise my boss might hear me watching your video
Hey erie i have always believed people knows bolts are going to break . Because them people makes thousands of them to replace them that broke. Hope this makes sence.
Eric Those are Mazda GAL nuts. No red needed! 😜
Enjoyed. I have one of these. Learned a lot. Thanks! Cam and crank angle sensor in one up there. Mitsubishi origin.
I'm surprised the input shaft didn't look scratched up with that seized pilot bearing
mazda,,,,, japan,,,, ford
Bolts break, it's an imperfect world
Just curious: Do you prefer a hydraulic clutch or one with a cable?
So.. anyone? What's the trick?
The moment of silence of a wood chipper 😂 Eric funny
That tree is pretty close, why don't you have your safety glasses and ear protection on? You may be able to use white bread pressed into the pilot bearing to push it out without the mess of grease.
hmm…just thinking loud…But can it be that the bolts is very soft material..and when you tightens them de bolt stretch? sorry for my english
that is the tiniest clutch I've ever seen!
"fart can system" haha, that's one way to say it
I know this is a 3 year old video.Curious if just use a nut spltter instead of fighting the nut freezing on the studs and pulling the studs or breaking?
He need to build yourself a pointed tip kind of like a small chisel for that puller so it will push all the way down to the bottom and keep them spread apart the one that I have has a piece that goes almost to the back of it and it works all right on a good portion of the pilot bearings not on all of them
sure is a lot of arm chair mechanics geniuses committing on this vid
Labor book time 2.3 hours LOL
pull motor instead?
Great job Eric. U never fail to get er done. Good man ☘.
I had to slice Mazda bolts up the middle through the threads with a grinder to give a space for bolt to spread inwards.
I sliced a few in half aswell just to remove them. Pain in the bolts working on these SMazda s.
Eric, perhaps Mazda used lower grade materials back then. Remember, in '94, Ford was running Mazda. They were working on recovering from bankruptcy. Maybe their thinking was that fasteners would be good for the life of the vehicle and they didn't anticipate repairs to certain parts. So, they saved a little money on cheaper fasteners.
Just a guess.
Oil those the day before and have a few cheaper pipes. And of course good ratchets.
The answers to exhaust flange bolts nuts is simple. Diabolical engineers.
You need to bring in a buhddhist monk
Miata owner gets quote from dealership for clutch job. Gets a quote of 2500.00 bucks. Owner is like what the heck why so much? Well this is why!
Look like it's better to pull the motor on some of these clutch jobs
pine tree?
Try cutting slits in either side of the extra lip . That lip is the lock for that style nut . The slits will release the lock.
Cheers
Rip bolt
Fairy dust would work on the Mazda exhaust bolts
Have you ever used one of those induction type heaters to heat up the bolts?
This man is a fucking hero…. I would have lunched the ratchet across the workshop and said fuccccckkkk thiiiss!! 🤣
So I've heard you mention all the ways you try to get the nuts off the exhaust studs but I never heard you mention using a nut splitter.
It a miada a chic mobile from the shores of Taiwan or mooshoo or honshu so dont sweat it just do your best
Please tell us how you really feel about Mazdas!
You didn't resurface the flywheel? Or use a new one?
It could be maybe the trick to Mazda bolts is to send the car to Dougs
know kidding its true
This is a hell of a job. Very difficult and time cnsuming
I came very close to buying a Miata for $800 that needed a clutch. I'm thinking I made the right call passing on it.
