WOW! I clicked on this for tips on how to handle replacing rust belt shackles, I've done them and each time it was a pain in the ho-ha. The whole time I was watching this I was waiting for the punch line. Very well done! Oh yeah, I bet it was super easy! 🙄

Hey Eric what way does the open side of the shackles point toward? Front or rear of the vehicle?
Did this on my 99 ranger back in the day. Took me 6 hours in my drive way with hand tools. Took the dealer 3.5 hours to do the other side in the shop. I dont think I did too bad. Oh and I replaced the bushings after getting the seized bolt out.

No lift needed , spring went right through the bed. 5 hours later, easiest job I’ve done on my truck so far! 10/10

Was it regular grade 8 bolts with thread all the way or a smooth shank up towards head then thread to put nut on?
I couldn’t figure this one I thought this is one of his first vids or he is just being a smart ass. You know for. POOP & LAUGHTER.
Did the spring shackles about a month and a half ago. Not horrible. But took a whole day because 3 of the 4 bushing bolts were seized. Then, yesterday, I got my redemption! Did both shocks in under 20 minutes! Took me longer to go get the parts than it did replacing them.
I don’t like how you assume I don’t have a torch or grinder. Judge much?
But you left a bad bushing in the leaf spring defeating the whole purpose I have a 95 Chevy K1500 and the rear end is out of alignment a fixed rear end I have to replace all bushings and shackles
Im glad you didnt replace the bushing , im not going to either.
Okay, Eric, whaddya do when the upper shackle bolts seize in the bushings?

I am saddened to see this up there for every unsuspecting 18 year old to 20 something newbie to completely miss the syrupy sarcasm and think this is some how easy. 150 miles south of you in PA the rust belt is alive and well. at 320 K on my 04, I Ordered hangers and shackles and shocks just today and expect the whole thing will take four to five hours for this aging old fart of 66 to get them all on, laying on his back in the drive.
I have an 08 CR 1500 up here in Canada the front connectors on my leaf springs have rusted completely can I use this kit safely or would I have any worries?? I'm trying to save money, 10K and 2 weeks in the garage is way out of my budget

Just ordered the Dorman 722-100 hanger and shackle kit. Going on a 1991 GMC Sierra 2500K. One of the easiest and quickest jobs I've done on this truck. Dorman is the best! Will definitely be looking at Dorman products in the future. Great video. Thanks.

Wow look at that rust, I'm glad a live in the south, I have a 2013 Sierra with no rust. Of course it does help also if you have an undercarriage cleaner which I have.

This is the first ever thumbs down for me. Mainly because if a guy puts forth the effort to make a video to help others, I should support him. However this guy went out of his way to make a tough job look deceivingly easy. He said something that affect of having this done in just a few minutes and be back on the road.
