Come along with Eric O. at the SMA shop as he goes through the procedure of changing a front hub assembly on a 2005 Buick Lacrosse. This vehicle has an ABS speed sensor built into the hub but some however do not. This is a pretty standard procedure for many makes and models of GM vehicles.

I trick I've learned, if you have an old no good rotor that fits the bolt pattern, bolt it on backwards and then start pounding with the hammer. It gives you a lot more leverage and surface area to hit!
Sweet
My 88 Buick still have all the bearings from when it was new second owner drive it every day to pick up parts the newer vehicle are not as good
Like hack Awesome
I'm surprised that rotor came out so easily
I never get tired of wheel bearing videos.
anti seeze the new bearing
fogot to monkey pee bearing hold down bolts
reminds me of the old days
Love the smart comments
My questions is not related to the GM vehicles. I'd like to know if there are there any manufacturer making reliable bushings for a 2004 Toyota Tundra upper and lower arms? The dealer prices for replacing the drive shafts, power steering rack and some of the ball joints cost more than what the truck is worth. I've seen too many bad reviews on Moog and the Chinesium knock off. In one of your videos, you use the Sankei 555. Do they make suspension parts, i.e., bushings for first generation of Toyota Tundra? Is there a complete assembled front axle hub out there? Thanks.
I bought a car where that spindle was all beat to shit from a previous owner doing his own wheel bearing.
Still allot easier than the bearings in my Saturn s series
You look like eric the car guy's love child ๐
Scotty Kilmer in the background with a chainsaw 3: 51 lol
what about that little hole in the hub between the two studs? could you put a bolt in that and use it to push the assembly away from the knuckle? or what that damage the aluminum knuckle too much?
"what's up lady". This dude lmao
tork sticks. i think it was that you need a big impact for 900 to 1000 nm. if the gun is like 200 to 350 nm it dont works. it going to tight it harder.
best way i think is when you buy guns.. test the tork.. on 8 bars on all settings. and se if one setting doing 120 nm ……. then you know. and you dont need torksticks.
When doing a brake job with abs, do you need to take the bleeder screw loose when pushing caliper piston back in?
Probably the same Hub assembly that my 2008 STS uses on the rear. I had one growling, once it was off, it was difficult to rotate it by hand.
Fun fact: OSHA will ruin your day for using a screwdriver as anything other than screwing in screws… Even though they literally make demolition screwdrivers that are made to be used as light pry bars.
I find it entertaining that it was that hard to take off the spindle but but on my 1994 Ford Explorer which hadnโt had the bearings changed since they were installed, after all of the automatic 4×4 nonsense was out of the way I took the spindle nut off with channel locks lmao
Please put the mask on the dust not good for you ! You do a good job and looks easy to do ๐ take care young man put the mask on you have Long way to go !
Is that Scotty Kilmer in the back with a chainsaw? Hahaha
there is a tool from sps tools that is used to push the brg from behind making air hammer into a press check it out works well
Ever find the lost caliper hook?
For 6 months I have been watching Eric,. and it wasn't until now that I discovered he is saying "Welcome to South Main…" and not "Welcome to self made …." Gotta get them ears tuned up!
How many mechanics do this much?
Missing intro music for big ๐ท
Why do you put Loctite (blue) on the three bolts that hold the hub on? The bolts I've removed are always so freak'n tight I have to wire bush the exposed threads, then pray I don't snap the head off before it breaks loose, then work them back and forth on the way out while spraying them. I have the same question about caliper bracket bolts. I've heard it's not actually to "lock" the bolt, but rather to keep moisture out to make future removal easier. Would using Anti-Seize be Okay?
Really clean for a northern car Iโm from the south Sooo I only see rust on this channel everything comes off a lot easier in the south
Sound like you talk from experience on the brake pump up to the sidewalk
I would hate to be an impact tool in NY.
It wouldn't be a real W-body without torn front control arm bushings.
Scotty in the background..with his 3 million subscribers ..
Sure ain't flat rate bud lol
Butt pucker! ๐ you so funny!
If you could compress the axle an the CV shaft would have way more room to work on those bearing bolts. Working on GM in dealer 10 plus NYC
3.6 gm timing chain show us the way
Rust, natures LocTite…
Sway bar was cracked. Lol.
Front wheel bearing done in 22 minutes and 25 seconds, nice!
Youโre a diamond in u-tube!
I have to get myself one of those "gibrony" chisels!! LOL
Rust, the original LocTite!
I know this is a very late comment in the game here, but I made a wicked nice caliper hanger out of a long, heavy duty pegboard hanger. I put it in a vice, snapped off the fingers in the back (the ones that go into the actual pegboard), and bent the rod. Been using it for years.
What? Safety glasses??? What is that all about? Real men don't need no stinking safety glasses! What's next? You gonna start using gloves full time too?
What is this world coming to!?
