Come along with Eric O. at the SMA shop as he rolls through the day and replaces the front disk brake pads and rotors on a 2013 Fords Escape Titanium. Now this is a pretty simple job to do but it would be best before you handle this yourself to make sure you have the proper tools, equipment and manual. As always be safe!

I had to buy a $40 tool to compress the piston back in
If I still lived in Michigan I would break out the big nasty, too!!
I just did these, but the wheel is smoking and burning? Any idea what this is? I also see drops of brake fluid.
Is that a 2017?
Really great video. Love the care you put into your work at the shop
Hey, you mind commenting on the air tools you used to bust the rust from rotor? Also the cleaning attachments and stuff you tan. Thank you.
Try the channel lock plyers to snap the clip off and reverse to snap on if a problem.
What type of lubricant??
Thanks for the video could you datail us the anti size products that you use?
Do you have to bleed the breaks?
Awesome video
Thanks dude!!
Nice video! thank you for sharing.
Didn't say factor spec
And this is the kind of Mechanic I want working on my 2015 Ford Escape , very detailed and does everything the way a brake job should be done.👍
Why are there 2 sizes of break pads on my Ford Escape XLT v6 2011? How do I know what size to buy?
Why are u changing perfecty good rotors?
When i did my brake job, in the end there was more grease on the brake disc than where it should be. lmao
Tanks you just make my day easier thank you sir
Awesome and your damn entertaining
Ever since having my 1985 bronco piston seize some miles after retracting it to replace the pads, I always open the bleeders before retracting the pistons to get the old fluid out and then flush new fluid from the reservoir down to completely change the fluid.
Four years later and this video still helping out haha thanks for the great info!
4 years later, this video is still helping people. Thank you sir.
Safety glasses?
How you sure it not a screw in piston
Very helpful. Thankyou.
is there a difference between front and rear rotors on 2013 ford escape se
Its been almost 4 years, has Josh finished college yet?
Hey Eric! Do you have to replace Rotors every time you replace brakes?
Thanks so much man you saved me $100 bucks by doing my escape brakes myself
What kind of tool is big nasty?
You did not torque the hex key caliper slide bolts,. Do you know the torque for them. You did mention the torque for the 18mm bracket as 125
What type of Roloc are you using after the 3M?
I really enjoyed your video. You explained everything so simply!
Thank you so much for this video, it's really good job!
Great job again like always
Great video as usual. Thanks
I love da the humor and your step-by step correct procedures to complete the job professionally!
Dude…have you ever heard of an item called safety glasses?
Grinders and flying metal is a mix for disaster👎
eXcape??????
Thanks for the video I needed a refresh!
I’ve done 3 of these, including the brake hose, the difference between these brake-to-caliper hoses are these are directly threaded EASY, compared to the banjo bolts
Will this work on my 06 huffy 3 speed?
my 2009 ford escape has the same caliper and anti-rattle clip set up
Take it to another guy…
Disorganized.. 30 seconds…next video
He does not show trick o r/r c,ip…..
What socket did u use to take caliper off
Those pads looked like they still had a lot of meat.
Eric, this time last year I had to change my rotors and pads in the from of my Escape. I went with Brembo because that is what they sold at the place my son worked at. I got a super deal on them, or at least I thought. Over the course of the last year my brakes were getting worse and my front rotors were severely warped. I took off the front tires to find that these great Brembos (not), the pads were wore down to 2mm friction thickness and like I said earlier the rotors were warped. The place where I bought them from said that Brembo had some quality issues around that time and they did exchange everything for free. If OEM Ford ones were not so damn expensive I would have went that route. Well I have learned my lesson. Always go OEM.
