Got something to do with “ego” ! Nice work, you burnt your beard, arm, neck, hair, & everything in between! LOL. But…..get r done ! Chinese parts again… Yuk !
Ty
Warmed some nuts today, always good to see fire at work!
That manifold looks like the slag that one of my coworkers use to let build up behind his bench grinder. 😳
I think thats a bunch of crap how shops and stealerships price jobs so high cause they don't wanna fix em..if you dont wanna work on stuff then they shouldn't be mechanics..its not like its all gravy unless your down in Florida..
Eric O is the brake clean master and kroil..
Did this cause a misfire?
Really appreciate this video, it's just the sort of thing nobody teaches. Also the reason I subscribed. More nuts and bolts please.
By the way, your wife is gorgeous!
Cracker (rock band) also has a song called Euro Trash Girl which is a hidden track (Track 69) off of their Kerosene Hat album.
Hey Eric, I'm wondering how much you charge to do the manifolds on a truck exactly like this one? I'll gladly drive to you, I'm about an hour and some change away.
😂 looks like gona be some carniage.
you should make a clicking noise, when the nut is tight enough.
Nice job well done
Great video as always Eric O was very Entertaining @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
Cut the exhaust manifold off at each port and then the exhaust pipe that way you can get at the bolts with nothing in the way
Anti seize the studs
I thought you would have used a tap to clean out the threads ,before putting in new studs ,just a thought .
What about using an air operated chisel for the bottom studs,I don't know how much access there is ,just a thought .
Very informative! Out of curiosity, how much is a job like that?
Great work. Question? My 2013 F150 King Ranch 5.0 v8 has what appears, a water leak at one of the back exhaust manifold bolts. I believe it's the coyote 5.0. Question is do the exhaust manifold bolts protrude into the water jacket? Water appears to be dripping off the heat shield onto the exhaust at the flange,. I can't get back there yet, but figure maybe either a stud has broken off or loose enough to allow water under pressure to come out. If not there then I assume a head gasket or worse. thanks for any info you might provide.
I've done a few of those manifolds, it needs a lot of paciens
Miss O, she needs a cocking class
Man I remember working in the rust belt then moved to AZ and I felt like I was spoiled to be a tech there then I came back to Michigan and I really missed AZ LOL but it's good to know how to do rusty vehicles
I am in Florida too. Used to live on Long Island. I am gonna be up in your area mid December. Me and the family will stop by for a few hours so I can watch you work and offer some advise with whatever your doing. Just kidding. Happy Holidays
Can't you stick the gasket to the engine block ,then offer up the manifold ,that way the manifold will be easier to fit past pipework ,then insert studs to hold manifold ,tighten up from there rather than trying to manoeuvre the manifold around the studs .
If the manifold is scrap you could cut it in pieces in such away it gives you access to the bolts maybe without going underneath just saying.
Can't you use an air driven chisel and just cut the nuts ,rather than. Putting fire anywhere near the car .
Love this, much appreciated
Can you imagine my frustration, place I worked the boss had a torch but wouldn't buy new hoses or gas, I was taunted by the empty cylinders doing jobs like this.. he wasted more money paying me to beat on stuff & curse than repairing & re-loading the gas torch would have cost on numerous occasions.
Brother, with all due respect, please make sure you know what year the vehicle you're recording is because 04, 05 or 06 is a completely different setup from 03 or earlier. I wasted 48 minutes watching this video in order to get help with my 2007 F150. Not to mention all the extra time I wasted trying to figure this out… Thanks
Dang! That salad looks great, and I'm not crazy about salad!
great video, so how much do you charge for this service?
I betcha he uses brake clean to rinse after brushing his teeth . Keeps them pearly white .
I enjoy the diagnostic stuff. You’re good at it and I learn a lot.
Just put new manifolds on my bought new 03 F150 Lariat Super crew. 5.4 litre/302 Triton, 79K KM'S/50,000 Yankee miles. Passenger side manifold rusted through at the front cylinder and started that terrible racket for the 1st minute every time I started it, would go away after a minute, but return every time you stepped on the gas ! One of those sit in the garage and corrode trucks. We got salt too !. Rest of the truck is like new. First job ever on this tr uck besides a battery and tires was calipers, pads, rotors 6 months ago. Your video's are excellent Eric and learned a lot with your diagnostic stuff ! You get North of the border look me up, take you and the bride for a ride in a Mahogany barrel-back along the river with a 350 Mercruiser Dad and I built. Upper NY is not far away and the torches are always hot !
My favorite part about this video is youre not wearing any gloves.
Did you lose your safety glasses again?
Can you put a link in the description for your tools?
I love work – could sit and watch it for hours — Thank You for reminding me why I no longer work on my own vehicles. Protect your hands Eric – is your livelihood. (Something should arrive Sept 24 – that may help)
You made it look to easy I'm having a really hard time even with a torch
I got to do them on the same style truck but don’t have the torch what would you suggest I use cause I would hate to deal with broken studs do you think the small nut splitters would fit on the manifold I haven’t looked
…every time I watch your videos, it sounds like you're saying: "SELF MADE Auto…"-(!)
How much do you charge for a job like this?
I don't know the owners crazy not to put stainless studs
It's called stuff sit down and eat it
