My experience Squib circuits codes are normally 90 percent of the time The Clock Spring Even though most flow charts say it's the air bag Good Video Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
you are a good guy. TMJ
What type of scanner is that to read squib circuit ohms?
Thank you Eric!
Thank you Eric. Itโs really appreciated.
Thanks Eric!! Added you to my Channel Under Dana's Garage
Real help full thanks
Thanks!!!
Hello, I have B1B06 code in my JEEP WK. I change clockspring yesterday for original part from MOPAR. After montage part and switching on the starter, airbag light still shine. I check the codes and i have B1B03. Driver airbag squib 1 have constant resistance 1.5ohm and driver airbag squib 2 have constant resistance 3.1ohm. Squib 1 have too low resistance.
Plis help me, what can I do?
Important question: Why canโt we hook up an ohm meter to the back of the clock spring and check the air bag resistance? Is this because the meterโs test voltage might trigger the inflator charge? ๐ฌ
Please give me ur whatsapp number
Clock springs can also cause "intermittent" faults! BTDT!
I have a code b1ba7 for this vehicle which is ocm verification required. Does anybody know if this just means i need the passenger sear recalibrated?
Nice video, to bad my scannner doesn't support SRS live data. It does give me the B1B02 code with Air bag warning light on. Any tips on how to further diagnosis with out the live data ohms screen?
What a crafty idea, swap in a resistor that won't twist in the connector.
Can any one help? I have an 03 Dodge Dakota SXT truck and the Air bag light is on. I bought a code reader that reads air bag codes and ABS codes (ABS – SRS) I checked the SRS and got no error codes I checked the truck and no error codes I got " P done" when I cycled the ignition 3 times. I checked the ABS and I got some strange codes. There was no letter before the code just the numbers and letters. the codes I read were and I will enter them as they appear on the scanner
> 0001 DODGE, 0002 DODGE, 0003 DODGE, 0004 DODGE, 0005 DODGE, 0006 DODGE, 0007 DODGE, 0008 DODGE, 0009 DODGE, 000A DODGE, 000B DODGE, 000C DODGE, 000D DODGE, 000E DODGE, AND 000F DODGE. <-That is exactly as they came up when I ran an ABS scan (My ABS light is not on however my AIR BAG light is) can anyone help me diagnoseย and fix my Air Bag light as I need to run my truck through emissions test and we al know it will not pass if there is aย warning light on. I thought it wasย "Lets Clean the Air" what does my Air Bag have to do with the emissions coming from my tail pipe and is the person testing my truck ASE certified to turn me down (NO) Please help if anyone can. I am a Single Father and my mother just passed away in may so it's just me and my Daughter and I need to fix this as cheaply as I can. I don't want to just start randomly replacing parts until I get it right.hello, what type of scanner are you using? thanks
Hey brother new to the channel just subscribed. What OBD II reader did you use in your vid?
Hah! The airbag light is on in my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Gotta go pull some codes and watch these two videos!
My neighbor just had their clockspring go bad on a '09 Jeep Liberty. I own 10 different older model cars. None are Chryslers. Never had a clockspring go bad yet! Chryslers suck.
Great video…
BIG DODGE will be back for ball joints
THANK YOU!!!
My first experience with a clock spring was when I was parting out our POS '00 GMC Jimmy. I got a little ham-fisted ripping the steering column apart, and TWAAAANG! Ribbon everywhere. Had no idea what it was until I went on the net, HAHAHA! Good thing it wasn't going back together …
Thank God that vehicle will not haunt another soul again -it's parts are all over the world now. ๐
great, as always …
Yo Eric cool bypass test! So why can't you use an ohmmeter to check the resistance of an airbag circuit? Isn't that what the SRS module is doing anyways to get the scan data values?
Thanks again for another interesting video. I like your Outdoor Channel as well, you are a busy man!
amazing how out of round that steering wheel is. huge deflection when turned 360.ย figures it is an American brand.
Thanks eric nice to see some air bag diagnosis,
i know on my voyager there was a recall on clockspring . so common prob on chrysler
Another great lesson from the Chrysler guru!
After witnessing a woman almost get her head blown clean off by the airbag in her truck, I want nothing to do with them.
im watching this while i shit. to get the full effect from the stink and mashy feel of what must be like to be a Chrysler product.
That was a great lesson Eric..see you in the repair !
Awesome tip there Eric. Thanks for sharing! ๐
Chryslers and their airbags…geez. Just replaced a clock spring yesterday on a Ram 1500 for the 2nd time in a year and a half, yep a Dorman.
the old clock spring again
man this is really handy, chrysler's diagnostic flow chart for these codes involves using the factory scan tool plus a special tool that comes in a briefcase with a bunch of different connectors and an airbag simulator thing, this is a real time saver, half of the time you couldn't even find the right connector on the special tool, and it was always was a broken clock spring
You must be the only auto tech who has a 3 ohm resistor on hand !
how often do you hear "that should be recall" when customers have to fix there car's?
my god these vehicles probably still smell new and things are breaking ,
I'm taking the lessons scannerdanner offers on his premium channel and I'm tracking pretty good. But as a DIY'er I lack on hands practice so videos like yours help me to understand a little better. There is no better teacher than experience!
The term squib is also the name of the igniter for stage fireworks at a rock concert. Sometimes they just refer to the entire device that the pyrotechnics shoot out of as a squib.
rite on
great I have jeep 2000 with the problem
I enjoy your videos. In my shop we took an old bulb socket with an 1157 bulb installed. Use the pigtails from the socket inserted in any airbag circuit. It is about the same resistance. Has worked on every one we've tested to date. Peace.
JEEP = Just Empty Every Pocket
how do you short out the system to get the abs codes to show for a 99 ram 1500?
Hi Eric
Was the resistor you used just from an electronics supplier or is it an actual test item?
If just from electronics supplier how did you determin the correct resistance?
Thanks.
