Good video. Interesting how the high side port isn't just a replaceable Schrader and you need a special tool.
This video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work. WOW very interesting 1st class very kool great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great
Thank you buddy for saying lizard 🦎
LUV IT! I don't turn wrenches anymore, but I am fascinated by your channel…..oB
Ah the invasive species both for the car and for Florida
You know that was not an ordinary Lizard. That was an under cover Geico Insurance Scam Agent making sure that only real insurance work gets billed to them and not routine maintenance stuff.
Little Lizard is a Carolina Anole. They should be the Florida state reptile.
Wow, juat paid $160 to have that done and no leaks were found on my Chevy Trailblazer. He emptied and refilled my system and it still stopped working on the way home. Now I've finally noticed when it stops working. When the screen says it's 90 degrees or more outside the A/C stops working and starts blowing warm air, when the screen temperature reads in the 80s or lower the air conditioning blows cold. I don't know what the heck could be causing that. GM only issue I'd bet.
Always a great video, care and attention to detail.
Ya missed a doo de doooo. Pfff
But….where did the lizard go??
How does this happen? Schrader valves don't leak unless they get very old. Were they penny-pinching and installed crappy ones? Or are there contributing factors? Are they identical to the ones used on tyres? Or do they have to have a different o-ring material like vyton or something?
We have a customer winner. Give that guy new values. Oh boy better check the lines going to the back.
Ray " get out of here lizard its hot in here"
Lizard " * obiwan voice* Thats…. why I'm here. "
Some of those, if not all, low side switches can be replaced with system under charge. I had to do that on my truck. Turns out there is a build in valve that allows changing out without system evac. make it nice for when that switch failed. One reason the switch fails often is due to all the clutch current, several amps, goes though the switch and it normally cycling when not doing full AC output. Some system run a relay to prevent that.
I'm loving that 'remove before flight' tag🤣
I specialize in auto ac. I replace every charge port and Schrader valve in every car I work on. If I don't it's guaranteed that I will have to suck it out and redo it. I also am the only guy in my area that can make a hose or line.
62 at the vent shit mine comes out at 24 I can keep icecream frozen
Super Lube 56204 O-Ring Silicone Lubricant, Clear New 202 Please use this on o rings . Same principle as putting oil on oil filter. Thank you
I love the flag om ur thermal testing device. I personally have donated hundreds of them to customers.
Hi Rainman like your youtube show 😊😊😊
Always a good taste in music. Anyone able to tell me what’s playing after Everlong?
No pag oil added i always add 1oz
Tough reach for the o-ring. Maybe you should have asked the lizard for help?
That refrigerant detector gave me big nostalgia for my hand-held Coleco football game.
I'm surprised he didn't check it for leaks after disconnecting his machine
I thought it took longer than 10 minutes to evacuate the system? Other videos I've seen did it for 30 – 45 minutes. Good informative video anyway.
Man our freon detector doohickey 1000 is like 30 years old. gotta let that sum gun warm up for 15 minutes all while it's sounding like a Geiger counter going off lol had one old R12 system in a 92 Honda come in the other day. Leaks for dayyysss. He opted for my recommendation on a complete R134 conversion, so guess it's a win! Great video as always brotha!
An HVAC repairman had a similar tool. My carrier system wasn't cooling all too well and my neighbors already had to have their evaporator coil replaced. Carrier had a bad bunch of coils; they tried to push the efficiency and made a product that would last much longer than a year. I also blame the company installing them as these were known to go bad; so yes, defective parts were installed. At least mine failed within the first year and the labor was covered, but my neighbors had theirs fail at the 13/14 month marks so they had to pay the labor.
Anyway, the tech came to my place had one of these tools and he was going to check for leaks. He never made it into the attic, the tool was on and he pulled down the stairs to the attic and the machine was going nuts. He said, yep, you have a leak and rather large leak. The sounds emitted from the detector Ray has is much better.
My last GM 5.3 burned oil….never again…
Do you ever check the new valves for leaks upon completion?
Shade tree only. No disrespect. Any auto ac work I've done, I always coated orings with mineral oil or nylog.
Thank you for your videos Rainman Ray!
Thanks Rainman. Eric O said I could find good technicians in my area. You’re proof of that.
LOVE the "Remove Before Flight Flag". Cheaper than a thermo-meter, right?
An algorithm boosting comment for your channel.
I live in Thailand and those little geccos are everywhere. One crawled into my AC evaporator and died making the car stink like a trash can. Toyota replaced the evaporator under the warranty and I now park the car with the windows closed.
Just like a cruze 1.4 turbo.
You can have no engine light on & running some what well.
Do a boost leak check and I found a bunch of leaks. Now it's entirely different car now.
That switch looked to be a bit loose
GM has been using that same leak prone check ball based high side port for 3 decades AKA since the switch to 134a in 1993. It's highly annoying that it doesn't have a conventional Schrader core so it can't be changed under pressure via a ball valve type valve core removal tool IE without recovering the refrigerant first, but at least it is a cheap part and aftermarket Schrader based ones are available.
That stowaway wanted a word with you about your insurance.
BTW nice touch w/ the tag for the vent temp gauge. Been watching Mentour too?
The refrigerant detector has an 80s video game sound chip. Detected – Ship captured by the bug beam in Galaga.
Was the customer upset when he lost his insurance cause you chased the lizard away? Just curious…
Nice job. Air con is important in FL.
Perhaps the customer is familiar w/ Ray's videos?
Until seeing these the A/C system is almost alien to me…as most of the time the A/C I use is the Desert type…window down…
PS…that machine sounds like one of those 80s hand held games…in particular SUB CHASE (Mattel Electronics)!
Why not recheck for leaks after high and low valve replacement?
He wants to sell you some Geico insurance…
Lizard always doin lizard things.
