This video is a Pt2. We had a body shop deliver this VW with a smashed in trans pan that suffered damage and a puncture during a collision. I'm going to replace the pan and attempt to revive it with new fluid.

How the hell can they design the bug then engineer a fill from the bottom trans fluid…groan
🤪
Yet another reason not to own these piles of junk
Where is part 3 of the VW saga?
Vor einfuellen des Getriebeoel, bitte das Auto auf den Kopf stellen.
Eliminating the top fill tube on automatics was a 'dumbkoff' move!
I strongly do not believe n censorship.
Ray, while filling, you have to keep that engine running….
VW the Crysler of germany. You had a low estimation and you waste Trans Fluid?
I was ready to show VW some love for that serious drain pan gasket, then they hit us with the "pump the ATF up into the drain pan" nonsense and they lost me.
You should have installed a bottle of Lucas oil with it. I have used it with a few cars now and it’s really lived up to the hype for me. One time it took over 400 miles of driving but then it started feeling like new and was great.
Such a dumb design with no fill valve
VW pure garbage….
A new brand of drinks? Censo red?
Hey….sorry, I know this was long ago but, the warning light that looks like a car on ice is, yes, the traction control light, meaning (mostly) the Traction Control system has been turned off manually, meaning, as you all know or as “y’all” know, by pressing a switch by the dash or steering wheel somewhere. That’s so you “Formula 1 driver wannabes” can go to a track (hopefully you don’t do this on a public road, but most of you do, really) and power slide your car or become a “drift “ star in your own imaginary world. Take my advice, unless you really know what you’re doing and most of us don’t, leave the traction control on always when driving on public roads. If you are so inclined, take advantage of “race school days” which are held at your local track pretty often I would bet.
Sorry, I kinda went off on a “leave your Traction Control on” rant there for a couple of minutes. But I know what it is like having a sporty or muscle car and wanting to get a little sideways or to “burn some rubber” thinking you got some undiscovered racing talent and then end up having to explain to your friendly neighborhood coppers why you slid sideways into that School Bus. Keep that bleeping Traction Control the bleep on!
Sorry again
🤔🇨🇺🇺🇸
What is the estimated cost of all your mechanic tools?
Crazy way to have to fill tranny
Hi Ray. What was censored by the emojis?
OMG. Ray after watching you change oil on the VW. Glad I do nit own one, and never had. I will never ever own one. It's stupid to fill and change oil like that from bottom up.
Love the hat, where can I get one?
The chevrolet s10 2020 in argentina model donot have a dipstick in the trany either,,,!!!
👍👍👍
just follow the DSG flush procedure thats all over the internet for years ! your doing it ALL WRONG on that one
disappointed on this one, lol
I'm glad my horses don't require replacement of so many parts!
That phone drives me nuts…i now hear it in my sleep
That was sooo the wrong trans fluid, you should not have put that red crap in it
Self healing Fahrvergnugen
Do you only know when the gearbox seizes
Typical German engineering what a stupid way to fill a transmission
I like the Waterboy moment, and Austin Powers too! 😂
Great job, Ray. Makes me even more determined to keep old Arthur on the road. 32 years and nearly 400,000 miles and the original Aisin-Warner AW70 is still working like new. New filter every second year, back flush on the off years. Oh, and a 21,000 pound B&M transmission cooler for fun.
what is the trans fluid's preferred pronoun?
As living proof, engineers certainly use drugs! How else can you explain this stupidity!
Volkswagen: Smart enough to make the gasket self-securing. Also, dumb enough to make you fill the tranny through the drain plug.
Holy crap, is that horrible transmission fluid fill and checking process typical on all WVs? They don't believe in dipsticks?
Was one reason the pan gasket felt so good is it's a new pan too?
I learned stuff, thank you.
why wouldnt you put the transmission fluid in from the top-worst video ever made!!!!!
i call it a L.O.C.A. lose of coolant accident. great vid tx.
This video made me cringe. This appears to be a DSG transmission and that is not DSG fluid. It is not Red in color, DSG is golden. To adjust the oil level, you need to monitor trans temperature with a scan tool. At 35 degrees C, you remove the drain plug and reinstall it when a broken drip occurs. Then good to go.
:55 You work so millions of democrats and illegals don't have to.
Your a good looking lad 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧( don’t worry I’m married have been for over 30 years ) lol
Yes good job VW!!
Tiny filter AND 3 bolt. Vat is this?
Ray! stop taking shortcuts
Another stupid design by Volkswagon
call Uber for pickup & delivery.
We had a Ford explorer/mercury mountaineer that was the same. So stupid to make a fluid so difficult to check. Just dumb.
