Ray: my shop has done hundreds of these Escape bearings . over the years ! There are no short cuts! You followed the road to victory, a bit labour involved, people don’t realize it! Press in bearings are cheap to buy, expensive to replace, hub bearings are more expensive but less labour ! Good video for Escape owners to see what is involved to make one front wheel stop sounding “like an airplane”
Videos where you don’t talk, I struggle through. Giving explanations and saying the sizes of fasteners really helps out! The longer a video is, the less boring it is when I can get a reasoning behind the actions of someone wrenching. The number of times I will close out a video when I don’t get details either visually or (preferably and/or) verbally of what’s going on, I can’t count.
Didn’t see you spray the oily residue of the rotor. Also not sure how that vehicle is old lol. Anything from around 1990 to present is fairly new too me
This is at least the second time I have seen your slipring slingshot pliers fail to launch the slipring into the Bermuda Triangle. (Ordinarily I would say "into the "Twilight Zone" but given your location I customized it.) Stay safe!
Didn’t use interference fit Bearing etiquette there Ray, push on external race for bearing journal and internal race for shaft or bearing damage can occur.
I miss the old days when they put zerks on everything, and you lubed the supension and bearings as needed. Seems like it all rigged for failure now due to drying out of grease Seal bearing are a joke. if you kept the bearing packed and put grease in the zerks right and properly, you only had to keep replacing rotten rubber bushings on the supension.
What!!! No "clicks" from your imaginary torque wrench, Ray?! 😆

“We don’t press on the studs” good call I’d have f——ed that all up
Getting that wheel baring changed was a pressing matter!

Would have been better to just buy a new hub assembly what an extra 100 bucks
"Sketchy"? Er, yea O.o
😀
thats why you only press the inner race while seating the hub

I always smear a little assembly lube on the new bearing. Makes pressing it it easier.
It would be hell – if this job was the only job you had to perform throughout the day – day after day at work.
What a big job! Excellent video. Thanks.
"Welcome to the Rainman Press Channel. Today we have a ball bearing, it's dangerous, so we have to deal with it."
Welcome to hydraulic press shanneeel…

Awesome to watch a master at work. Do you have any videos on kingpin bushing for 81 ford f100 Custom. Thanks, keep'em coming
I see you have a shop cat?
You could have done 3 Silverado bearings by now !
Please use ATF next time. It works on bearings, ball joints and ujoints. Everything slides in without resistance
I watch for entertainment. You can do better work than what was shown on this video.
Not put together properly, Press has to be level.
Well a snap ring belongs in back of the bearing and when u use bearing separators push aganst the blades not the bolts!
Nice looking kitty.
I sent you a video of the proper tool to use for this job.
Yay – hydrolic press Jenga!
this must be a cat house as well ,seen a mouser in the back round , or it could of been a 4 legged shop rag lol
I just buy a loaded knuckle F all that pressing
there is no link above or below….
Serious question… Why does Ford still use press in hubs instead of bolt ins?
Oh sure, I could do this in my driveway – not
Not one of your better ones.

I love they original Wimmawey on the radio.
omg lost of mistakes .you class your self mechanic ?>.. no torque everything by force ..omg
I like Toyotas design better, take out 4 bolts and replace the hub and bearing as a unit
