Hey Mr Raman got a question I have a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado the ac freezes up within 5 minute after start up and also locks up the blower motor what could cause this thanks in advance
That was good welding pliers. Love it. Like the small way you give back to idiots.
Dorman high side fitting has a real shader valve in it
"Power Joke"! Love it!
Watch Wes calls it a "Power Smoke"
What are the chances of it lining up with the fan support bolt hole . unlucky Ray
Happy happy late Father’s Day Ray
I do my best work the second time.. LOL… I feel your pain. So many times in your videos, I see you put the parts side by side and verify the correct part before installing… Guess you missed that step this time. Thanks for the content!
We call them clips OH SH** clips at my shop hahaha.
Now, a REAL mechanic would have left the first radiator in, then cut/sectioned the fans and shroud assembly to fit. 😉
We do it rite cause we do it twice!!!
You didn't do the comparison first :'(
It's a JAG -U-R not a jagwar…………………………………
Nice job.
Yes you only learn something when you make mistakes?
although I did not think you made a mistake
Welding pliers…. REEEEEEEEEE!
That second ragiyator was to easy. There's a joke there somewhere.
Ray, you need one of those no-spill funnels for coolant
Please don't show us your naked eye.
To the carwash station with us 😂😂😂👍🏽
Please tell me you don't watch CC Chris from Wrstchester County. He's a flat earther who opens his videos "good morning, good afternoon, good evening, wherever you may be, Chris, CC here from Westchester county"
You're opening was very similar
forgot again make sure to compare new part to old part, see that problem with many different parts sometimes they even have the same part number, revised part that they claim is the correct new replacement, yes it works in MOST applications not all.
but the advantage is you get more practice at removing/replacing radiators, fuel injectors and other parts, think how much faster you can do the next one…
Love your channel! You ever consider selling merchandise with your many catch phrases like "click" or "gravity" and the many others you have? I find myself using them when I wrench on my car. Makes it much more fun to wrench. Keep up the awesome videos.
Bolt hole or butt hole? I really kinda heard the same thing.. 🙂
Truth! Doing things a second time takes a fraction of the original time! I once ran a truck across the dyno after an in-frame overhaul. Oil pressure was good at startup but after the run it was VERY low, like 5 PSI. Told the mechanic that did it and he went to the pile of parts he was disposing of and found the mains marked .020, he had installed std mains in an engine that had a .020 undersized crank! I parked the truck on the apron and within an hours time, he was pulling the truck back to the dyno for me to run it again! He did a full set of main bearings on a HOT engine, in an hours time! This was on a Cummins 855 that have apx 4 inch diameter main journals that the bolts torque to 300 ft lbs
"Easy as Pie" definitely is a saying. I had a college professor from India years ago who mixed up the sayings. He would always say "Piece of pie" and "Easy as cake." We students were never sure if he was just confused or found American sayings silly! Anyway, great videos. Keep up the good work.
No brake cleaner!? I'm deeply disappointed.
Hey Ray.
Friday should be POETS day..
Do as Aussies Do
Piss Off Early Tomorrows Saturday.
🤣🤣🤣
It’s Chinese aviation day, Flyday
All rads look the same! The guy that sourced the rad should have checked it so you don’t waste your time doing everything. Must be the wrong part number
You know, you put those floor mats down, it’s got to be for your own shoes. The floor of most of those vehicles are soooooo dirty!
"Warranty another pair of welding pliers, Sam!"
There's you a t-shirt idea. You're welcome lol 🤣
Anything worth doing right is worth doing over!
LoL 1 to many letters in that shout for the clip.
Jesus clips 😊 got a lot Jesus stoff 😂🤣
Wow, that looks like a really easy rad to access. Most of the time you have to dig through a lot of plastic and move other parts out of the way to get the radiator out.
BEST COMEDIC MOMENT IN VIDEO…" HOSE CLICKAGE!" LOL
ALSO HAPPY DADDYS/FATHER'S DAY RAYMOND!!!! On those clamps and same hose replacements…For years I did samo samo…never leaked after…hose was formed as such…ANOTHER GOOD JOB BY RAY!!!! YAYYYYYY
Had this happen a few times during my monkey wrench days, fitting a 6 cylinder head to a cab over in the middle of summer 44C on a Friday after lockup till 7.30pm for an important client two or three times.
Oh Ray it is so not like you not to compare the new part with the old, gotta be Fridayitis LOL.
One happy customer recomends you to ten of their associates /friends One unhappy customer tells one hundred associates/friends (it's an old saying but is still relavant.)
Ray I just want to point out that you should always be using "left hand coolant" in a left hand drive vehicle. You can run into serious problems if you put "right hand coolant" in it. A man of your experience should know that. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Thats not true Ray! The only thing faster is a Neutral Drop! " WHATS IT GOT STUNTMAN!" … jus kiddn. You the man Ray.
What kind of flashlight are you using, i been trying to find those, not talking about the uv flashlight, the other one
why do you only use 1 kind of coolant? here we have like 4 or 5 different kinds.
Great video once again Ray. You are only human and don,t forget to have a great day.
Love my job so much I do it twice, sometimes three times
Hey Ray don't beat yourself up over that. Something as simple as a tow option could change the radiator size. I've seen it happen before and yes it has happened to me. Kinda frustrating but not your fault. Just a little wasted time. Hope you had a good Father's day.
Funnel, it's called a funnel and it prevents spillage.
Shit happens Ray and I always love your videos. Was it because it was last thing on a Friday and you wanted to get home but I was expecting the bucket contraption that will only let the radiator fill and not over fill. And you have beaten yourself up enough about it so I'm not rubbing salt into wounds but does this car only have one size rad? Was the parts monkey at the supply depot just lazy and not checking or do variants use differing sizes? But last thing on a Friday everyone wants to go home I suppose. Great Boss who will do the gofer work for you. Hope this didn't ruin your Friday too much and the cold beer was even more tasty.
Good night? I'm watching this at 1046 at night. Lol
Theres never enough time to do the job
right the first time, but, there is always
plenty of time to do it over.
!
I'm telling ya Ray get the hat that holds the camera on your head, remember how the coal miners wore there lights on the front of there heads , well I'm sure you know that they make em for go pros
I get what you mean, replacing a transmission for the second time on a 2004 Cadillac Escalade, when I took it down the first time it took something like 20 hours because every bolt on it was seized or rusty, and obviously complications as a result of that. Taking it down the second time it only took 5 hours, still putting it back together right now
Should have known something was wrong when your parts magically showed up so fast!
Well dang, that one time you don't check the part to make sure it is the same it bites you, and it just has to be at quitting time Friday.
My instructor for my Work training program… called C and E clips "JESUS" clips cuz you know it goes flying "Jesus… Im never seeing that again"
Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
So is the A/C working now ?
Why not flush the system out with regular water or something if the stop leak can cause problems ? Would it leave enough stuck to the walls to cause any problem ? Just curious
I never never make any mistakes like that . . . EVER!!! JK we all do
Yet again putting regular antifreeze in a vehicle that takes dex cool!!
Go on ye sir. In my repair life when I did customer's product I sought the seventh level if not seventh generation where I would work on all of their product because they trusted me enough to recommend me to their family. So mom, grandma, great grandma and their kids and grandkids. I got to six with one family. They all had babies very young.
Do you not as a procedure compare parts before you put them in. Match them up.
That new radiator is the one for the mechanical fan. That truck obviously has the electric fans. That's the differences in the measurements. I have an 01 Silverado and I want to do the electric fan conversion. I had to measure out to see if an electric fan radiator would fit. It clearly does, but I've already measured that. I'm sorry that you had to do it twice. It sucks.
Happy Father's Day Ray, You really suck at pouring coolant, I think you have the wobblies. I surely hope that you can pound down ice cold beers better, click.
I think u r better than Mr O !!!
Time for some "Welding pliers" merch. Maybe with a caption 'when you just don't want to burn fingers off AND trigger the internet'
Hey Ray, stuff always happens when you don't want it to. Great recovery on the wrong part and remember when we make mistakes it keeps us humble. Happy Father's Day. Cheers!
We do it nice because we do it twice
So many wrong parts, so little time, so much frustration! Are those spring type hose clamps really worth re-using? I always replaced them with worm drive type.
Since Stop Leak was used in the cooling system, wouldn't it be necessary to flush the system first before adding the final coolant?
Shocking! Ray normally matches up his parts. Lesson learned
Good job Ray!! Happy Fathers Day!!
Happy father's day to all!
Happy Father's Day Ray
Happy Father's day ray I hope you had a great weekend. Also service professional to service professional don't ever say the Q word on a Friday the service Professional gods frown on that & will always make that day long or incredibly busy. I'm a service plumber so I get it completely
"Piece of pie" "4th wheel" – Last Action Hero. And in 6 months Ray will be replacing those radiator hoses 😛
do you have a micron gauge .pull a vacuum and see if it hold microns . if it cannt you have a leak or you have a bad vacuum pump
how long has it been since it was charged? the cap should have slowed the leak down to a very small loss. it was the low side also. i think you have another leak
I have installed many, many new radiators over the years and I have always flushed the cooling system before installing the new radiator. With out not knowing how much stop leak the person put in the system, this would have been the ideal time to flush the system. Get all the not only stop leak out, but being an older vehicle, getting any of the old contaminates out. New radiator, clean cooling system. But Ray, very good video showing the diy'ers the correct way to install a new radiator and thermostat. Very easy job.
we're all human
You know, Ray. You would be sooo much faster if you quit doing it the first time, and only did it the second time..😁
I’m surprised you were able to bolt in the wrong radiator. Don’t beat yourself up Ray. Sh!t happens.
IF You get the r134a vavle for converting r12 gm high said they screw right in place of those high side and use a normal shadervavle
That truck was probably built on a Friday afternoon that is why the non standard radiator was in it.
Wish you had shown the temp after the AC repair. Friday at closing all wish to go home. You are committed mechanic RR. DVD:)
yes.. as "delivering value aka keep them out of our faces.. once.. & never fix it again.. too many vehicles to fix from neglect yet neglect on parts that fail.. even.. new thermostats.. tested b4 put in.. 😉 30yrs later i still do
So is the AC cold now? Cliffhanger!!!
Oh the inhumanity of it all antifreeze spilled on the floor will humanity survive?
it stops reg back yarders & city folks from inhaling it.. you know.. stick an *wl in it.. SAFETY FIRST PEOPLE..
"i need my AC Saftey Octa (octagon) Socket
i knick named them..
couldnt miss the florescent orage foam with few sizes & labels do not use one part only's on almost all vehicles
& 4x4inch box of "JC CLIPS" in trunk toolbox
The irony: in America, we're so rich and busy that if you get a new tire mounted, you're getting a new valve, don't want you having problems later. You'll come back and be unhappy!
But replacing valve cores for AC service? Meh.
Right Meow?
Just be aware that getting bubbles on a charge port soon after taking a hose off doesn't mean it's leaking. There may be liquid refrigerant sitting on the valve that's boiling off. Also don't trust the lack of dye in an evap drain. 90 percent of the evaps I've changed haven't leaked enough to let dye/oil down the drain. Should use your gas detector. Love your work though man. It's not often you get people like yourself wanting to do the job properly.
how often do fresh air vents stick open?? i fixed many in my life that were manual vacuum.. few electronical.. & now new more mass produced PARTS FAIL EPICALLY.. make me want a machine shop & knock off hand made parts not shipped & forget new thinking.. strip to simplistic reliable electronics built not CHIPS or relays made to last 120 day lol gamble to 2-5yr extended bs
As soon as you said the new one had a drain plug , I said wrong one. There are so many similar but different ones for GM anyways! Happy Father's Day Ray👍
One thing that I could suggest on radiator and a/c job would be to blow condenser out while radiator was out, to remove bugs and debris that might be in fins. Love watching your vide
Happy Father’s Day Ray
