Nice one Eric. The new overalls look schmick. They even have a pocket so they must be good. You’ll need sleeves for winter though.
Powerstop brake in procedure is pretty accurate as well never had issues with jitter or shutter after doing a brake in procedure I have even after installing there kit just drove the vehicle like Normal without doing the break in procedure and never had issues doing that eaither Eric O @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC
3rd gen 4runners 97 to 02 have notorious brake issues the Powerstop Z36 line pads and Rotors have helped a ton with brake shutter and I been using Hawk pads with these z36 series rotors been loving how smooth and strong the stop is they are a great product from what I can tell over the years of using them Eric O I even Installed there Red painted quad piston Calipers on all 5 of my 4runners and they are great there drums and shoes are great As well @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC

I have used RockAuto for the past 3 years for parts (almost all for PREVENTIVE MANTENANCE) for my 2003 Toyota / Lexus SUV (which I purchased from a dealer in 2019 with 112K on the clock). Just did the 120K service. Rock Auto "OEM" parts have all worked well for me; e.g. Plugs, Coils, VVT Solenoids, MAF Sensor, hood & deck struts, etc.
I also used Rock Auto for some 10 years for my old 1992 Caravan … happy then, too!
I am NOT a mechanic, but as an Electronic / Mechanical Field Engineer (fixing things from huge RADARS with big gears … to little Radios inside operational and test Aircraft on Military Air Bases … I am VERY SLOW when fixing things – on purpose. In that past world the game was RELIABILITY … lucky for me, it also paid well !
A few decades ago, while in the "design lab" waiting for my newly-minted security clearance, I was given a large crate full of "Destroyed" (and delicate and expensive receiver antennae. I spent a few WEEKS speaking with the flight and maintenance crews, then determined the problem was a "random mix" of slow relays. The high power transmitter could "Fire" before the sensitive little receiver antenna was "disconnected". (actually it was a blown diode on the PCB so all were able to be repaired … to save ~$50K ea for the 30 or so blown units)
In THAT case, I designed a delay module (for the transmitter; ~30ms to save the system, but too short for the Flight Crew to notice during Radio / ADF usage … to compensate for any "Slow" disconnect relays. (aka Solenoids). I was told" "Good thing you are going into the field … you are too slow to stay here and design new parts for us!"
While I do service and fix my own Vehicles, I always need to compensate for … and just accept my OCD/Anal (aka SLOW) behavior. i.e. I need to study the overall design and implementation (for hours). Then I debug the symptom or wear history … and a ton of tracing and trouble shooting with meters, etc. …. only then do I fire (mostly only once) the "Parts Canon" 🙂
As a mechanic in a shop, I would starve to death; I could not even try to "beat the clock".
Back to the "Short-Life Rotors", my immediate thought (because of your multiple past changes) and KNOWN GOOD WORK, ERIC … was … "Cheap Wheel Bearings" (i.e. "mechanical eddy-currents" "micro-pulsing" the rotors). i.e. High-Frequency Pulsations 90 degrees out of phase with the rotational speeds and (lower frequency) "vibrations" of the larger and heavier parts. (But over time, enough to "EAT at the Rotors".
BTW: My hat is off to IJM !
Just before submitting this, I have scrolled down using a google search for "Wheel Bearings" and found: IJM's comment: "… changed both front wheel bearings and the problem went away."

I have had Great luck with the PowerStop Z36 series truck pads and Rotors on most of my trucks and they have held up super well have put 8 sets of pads on 1 set of rotors on 1 truck so far Eric O been using them for years @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC

Those breaks work well on my expedition. No complaints.
Those brakes have a zinc coating, which helps prevent corrosion and rust. Power Stop is good, but I usually buy from R1Concepts as they tend to have far better deals for essentially the same stuff. Though, I would go for the geomet rotors from either brand over the zinc ones. Generally speaking, have always had good results. I had one friend have his rotors warp, but his caliper badly seized up and overheated everything. I've used many sets of them over the past bunch of years for my own and others' cars. Overall, very good results.
They will squeak like nuts. Had bad history with those.
I like the PowerStop on my Jeep Gladiator. Replaced the factory set up at 9k miles, they were subpar stock, and now it's lifted with 37" and beadlock rims. Its definitely noticeably better than factory and was recommended by many Jeep owners that I wheel with as a solid upgrade.
I have the powerstop carbon ceramic or graphite pads with the same rotors. They are like zinc coated so no need to protect in storage for rust. they are big pimpin! Need to upgrade calipers all the way around and Ill probably do the powerstop on the rear axle as well. Went across country twice in the mustang over 5 years on those pads and rotors and maybe I should inspect them now but ZERO issues. Stops on a dime with no ABS 🙂
I have these on my mazda 5, on the rear.They seemed to have lasted much longer than the set they replaced.

Just installed Napa Adaptive Rotors on a Toyota Avalon. Rear inner drums are out of round, they heat up and begin to scrape the brake shoes. Less than 2 weeks old and they’re going back to Napa as defective. It took 10 days to receive the Toyota rotors and shoes. It’s called a National Supply Chain issue.
IF your brakes keep warping, it means your disk rotors are under-sized for the car or your style of driving, switching to drilled and slotted disks may help the cooling marginally, but it will not fix the problem. You need to upgrade to larger diameter disk, larger disk will absorb more heat energy without warping and give much better braking performance.

I could be be wrong but me thinks MS, oh is rididng the brajes ? , Hard not to when in shcool zones or anyplace else where they have flashing signs up say your too fast and a camera behind them

I put the power stop kit on my 2016 Silverado about 3 months ago. I opted for the none drilled rotors. I got them thru auto zone. So far so good.
I think we used to call that a "burnish break-in." I don't like the overalls, you are too young. Great video!

I just put the same thing on the ole jeep Patriot and they work great for now. No noise at all and they feel great.
I had a 2011 Kia Sedona and I swear if you looked at it funny the rotors warped on it. I went through four sets of front rotors and two sets of rear rotors in only 80k miles before I got rid of it and I didn't beat on it. I think the design of the Sedona makes it go through rotors. For comparison, I also owned a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan and only replaced the front and rear pads on it and I drove it for 95k miles as an Uber vehicle.

I installed these exact rotors and pads a year ago on my '13 Fiat 500 Abarth. After a year, no shuddering but even more important, very very minimal brake dust, especially in the front, unlike the OEM soft pads that made a dirty mess of the front rims in short order. Also, that cadmium coating they use on their rotors is holding up nicely after sitting outside in all types of weather. Very happy with the Power Stops.

Used these on several vehicles and have had GREAT experience with the power stops.
I went to drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads on the front of my F250 SD and have never had an issues since. The only thing I will say I feel different is maybe having to press a bit harder to stop, but that could be my imagination as well.. Made a huge difference when cross country towing as well…. Original rotors had already been changed when I got it at 35K and by 40K I went to the new stuff.. The ceramics last forever as well!!! no more rotor dance for the last 85,ooo miles…

I’ve had good luck with these, and actually a lot of other rotors after following the Powerstop bedding procedure
Central Oklahoma here. The shop I work at gets a lot of rotors from Napa. Half of them are the rusty vacuum sealed ones. The other half, never have an issue.

Put same on my 2015 odyssey. They are okay except rust fast in Michigan weather.

Ok Miss O is driving into the corner deep. If she changed to lifting early like 200 feet early. Then rotating the van and picking up the gas in the first 1\3 of the turn. She will pick up speed on the straight. If that doesn't work put more breaking biased in the front. She won't drag the break and any Yaw can be great. Van. Let the air do the work.

I have used powerstop regular rotors and pads for many years and have never had a warped rotor. I use them on my 06 Odyssey with 310k miles, and 06 Rendezvous with 275k miles. I follow the break in procedure. I think they stop better than OEM.

Ive put them rotors on my 96' chevy c1500, used some oreilley ceramic pads on them, absolutely no noise after a good 10,000-15,000 miles, still stops pretty well no warpage no problems and i like to drive it in a "spirited" fashion, ive seen that rotor and pad combo screech like a banshee on some vehicles though.
Check your wheel bearing hubs with an automotive stethoscope or “ STEELMAN ChassisEAR/EngineEAR II Auto Diagnostics Combination Kit ” listen for low ticking sound. Also , I always crack open the bleeder valve with a tight drain hose on bleeder valve ( don’t let air IN caliper, takes a little practice at first) before pressing the pistons back. This prevents a spongy brake peddle afterwards.
My wife is a warp-speed driver also. Once a year on the front rotors. I am going to follow this video's advice!
I put ceramic pads on my vehicles and I do light braking for 500 miles if possible to break them.

Zimmerman rotors and Akebono pads. This combo is amazing for brake performance and longevity.
That's a full on endorsement if they're good enough for Mrs. O they got to be worth every penny. Either that or you're tired of dealing with that look you get. Also, NAPA owes you big time.
use anti seize under the caliper tabs. and non synthetic grease on caliper lube on caliper bolts you will not have any come backs.

My 2012 sienna runs through rotors and we don’t drive it hard. Could if be a minivan steering geometry thing?
I have installed the same pads and rotors on my 2007 Chrysler Pacifica and later on my 2016 Hyundai Sonata with very good results for brake operation. But, the downside I experienced on both was faster/greater deterioration of the pads and rotors after going thru our wonderful winters. The rotors especially rusted at the grooves and drilled holes. Both vehicles I changed to their best setup with smooth rotors which lasted much longer, and better thru winters. So, for me, I will never again use drilled/ slotted rotors on anything that I'd driven thru our wonderful corrosive winters. Good weather, I'm sure they will be great and long lasting. Hope your experience after this coming winter is better than mine.
Added Power Stop rotors to my 06 Mazda3,I did the brake in drill ,no squeal, no problama.

Eric, I bought a 2004 Kia Sedona brand new back in the day and I experienced the same issue with the front brakes. My long term solution was to sell the van. It's a shame too because it was a pretty decent vehicle otherwise.
I had to do that on my Dodge Grand Caravan. I never had anymore issues with the rotors warping after that. 👍

My wife's 2009 MDX warps rotors quickly also. Gets old having to redo brakes way before they actually wear out.

Any chance that the braking bias is to much on the front brakes,is there a rear proportioning valve to cater for loads in the rear ?
You guys have the extremes of weather,maybe that having affects on the rotors,plus the Salt ,road grime ,dirt roads dust build up.
May the metal used in the rotors is junk ?
Certainly a easy job to work on clean parts that unbolt straight away,no cleaning up rust etc .
I’ve had good luck with their kits on my buddys Mercedes. I think I’m going to put their full kit on my 1996 Z28 the next time it needs brakes.
I bought a set of those brakes for my 1994 Honda Accord more years ago than I can remember now. When the '94 died, I put them on my '96, then when that gave up, I swapped them onto my mother's '96. I can't begin to tell you how many years, and how many miles those brakes have on them now. I've never replaced the pads, probably should check them. They have always stopped great, no shaking, pulsating, fading. I hope yours serve you as well as mine have served me!

I’ve used these rotors/pad packages on three vehicles….. each time with excellent results!
I use these pads and rotors on my 05 Suburban and I noticed a huge difference in braking performance.
I tow a 14×7 enclosed motorcycle trailer and its a big help on stopping when towing.

Mr 0 my auto parts places actually take back parts like rotors . As defect happens a lot I noticed with Chrysler and Hyundai sonata . They don't like the "white box" rotors. They don't last for crap so they have no problem taking them back for defect. Usually they exchange them . But did do a cash refund before because my customer bought Hyundai oem rotors on line and brought to me to install . So I refunded him the money for the crap rotors
I put the powerstop cross drilled rotors & ceramic pads on my ford ranger. Only thing is to ignore powerstops break in method as it will warp the rotors. The ceramic pads work really well and they don't eat the rotors like semi-metallic pads do. I just changed the pads on my ranger at about 50K miles on the old pads not the truck. I have a 2007 ranger with 98K miles on it.
Those rotors keep warping me on me every few thousand miles, they’re super “china.” The pads are really good, but the rotors suck.
I used to go through rotors at least once a year on a Toyota T100 I had. I put the drilled and slotted rotors and some hawke pads and it never warped again. I gave it to my son and it now has close to 100k on the setup and still going strong

You will be very satisfied with these brakes. My 2013 f150 Ecoboost had issues wearing too much on the inside of the rotors, did not like the idea of replacing the rotors at every oil change….We upgraded to the evolution brake kit with calipers at 20k miles, I tow boats and trailers frequently and am somewhat aggressive on the brakes. We are now at 150k miles and still have 75% brake life left with no signs of pulsing or uneven wear.
The only challenge was the proper break-in procedure, you do need a lot of road to complete properly! But once properly done: WOW awesome upgrade! I wonder if we can order new vehicles with these? LOL!

akebono brake pads are better then the power stop pads with premium rotors.
NAPA Adaptive One's have been great for my Cavalier for years. Very reliablenstops. The dust has been about average and thetop NAPA rotors have also been good. Of course its usually only me in the car and it is probably quite a bit lighter than the van. Mrs O is racing somone when you are not around I'm certain of it.
