Boy, there are some Narks out there… Please keep up the great work Ray!
To remember to fill oil and as I have learned you can not close the hood if the cap is in the way
It's now classified as a cross over
The 4% are not pleasable so don’t give them a second thought!
Ray, sorry I am late, Why do you rotate the tyres/tires in that way? I generally just straight swap back to front with no crossover. (I am neither a pro mechanic or tyre/tire person)
Tell me why there are fewer motors than there are different oil filters for every variation of motor?
I spy a second gen Acura Legend in the parking lot. Absolutely love those cars. I'd love to see a video on that car!
What's the reason for using a torque stick if it doesn't get the torque correct and you have to use a torque wrench? How do you rotate radial tires? Aren't you supposed to keep the belts going in the same direction?
I thought crossing was for bias ply? Directional tires is also a consideration.
Ultimate Shiny!
I have been tempted to find a junker and get it to have as many trouble codes as possible for you to diagnose. What is the most number of trouble codes you have seen in a single vehicle?
Wish you had checked the air filter, but that's just me
Should wear gloves when handling used motor oil as it's pretty carcinogenic.
This video just radiates positive vibes ethier that or that gummy just kicked in
I do remember the lift safely course but nope can't recall that cap off shit
I don't did I miss it
Should a 2 year old car not go to the authorised main dealer for its service as it should still be under its 3 year warranty? Surely by not doing so it invalidates its warranty?
Rainman has redeemed himself with the double fisting brake clean action.
Is that a vernal or autumnal equinox?
Not prefilling oil filter?
Oh man. My friends like to say “ i paid for it pig, you didnt” when removing bolts, parts, etc. I would bet other people besides “us” say something to the same. Does that mean we “stole” it? Lol
What about the spare tire air psi LOL
Oil fill cap in the hood latch so you wreck a $10 part instead of a $3000 motor, and leave the dipstick way up so you can't shut the hood without checking the oil.
The lack of business is a sign of the recession we are in. The worthless thing called President has done everything he can to destroy this country. I just hope we can survive 2 more years. Hell I hope he can survive 2 more years because 🐪a would be 500% worse.
SUV’s are just mini-vans with regular doors.
i was just wondering what did you do to make the brake cleaner spray so far?
Whaaaat you're awake when doing these vid's LOL.
I found out my parents corolla had no clear flood mode by revving it to the moon on startup. Probably took 50k miles off the motors lifespan 😂
You do it for that one time you closed the hood and broke an oil cap you thank your lucky stars that it was an oil cap not a engine.
Those tires …….
I have an ‘18 2.0 also premiere. Love these vehicles. Go 2.0 or go home 😉
I have a funny feeling this is your wife’s car lol
Dual wielding brake cleaner had me actually laughing at loud!
TY,,,,,,WOW incredible very interesting super kool ,1st class great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
When I put on a new oil filter I that the old filter and match the gaskets with the new filter to oil it up. It works.
I don’t see an amazon store link anywhere..help me out ray!
I am curious why you have a NAPA AUTOCARE banner and yet most of the parts you use are from Car Quest or Git-n-Zone? I know you don't make that decision but it seems like you get a lot of the wrong parts from those suppliers and you can't offer a warranty at any other NAPA Auto care centers. Inquiring minds want to know? Oops used a line that wasn't original hope I don't make more people unsubscribe😱😱😱Love this channel and the dorky guy that does all of the work👍👍
Quick question Ray, does the manufacturer install different oil caps showing the different oil required for different regions such as warm climate in Florida compared to colder climates up north?
LMAO the double cleaner was awesome!
Side note: Av8tore71 we are happy you unsubbed and left, Go make more vids of your cats.
You sound like Alvin the chipmonk when you speak during timelapse.
Yeah, I still have my kmart torque wrench I bought in the 70's as a teen
Especially enjoyed this video as I own a 2019 Equinox it has 37,000 no problems.
ray i will say this according to the local county my minivan is a truck
I only have one question for you why are you dry f**** the filters I've been in mechanic my whole life and I've always put oil in the filter it's bad for the engine to start up without no oil in that filter
Having a TPMS might make it easier to see pressures, but harder if you like to rotate your own tires at home. Not everyone has one of those devices to aid in relearning their position.
Tire pressure sticker was right above that manufacture sticker 35psi
Everyone knows that you have to pull the dipstick out like that or 99.5 FM won't come in clear.
Best camera view is hands free FPV 👍
I got my flex ratchet set from Snap-On; the Mountain brand and they're flipping awesome! They've gotten into spaces that have saved my butt many o' times including just yesterday ( Friday ). Had to change all 4 motor mounts for a Chrysler Town n' Country. That back mount had 2 " hell bolts " that were no match for the flex! 😎
Ray, Why not fill up that new filter up before installing? The oil pump pulls from there first. No need for a dry startup.
Ah the old front to back and back crossed to front rotation. But what if the tires are directionally marked?
Finally someone who knows how to route tires correctly.
just cause its organic doesn't mean its pure
Saw you and don't forget to put in some Louver sliding
You know the cool thing about non-digital torque wrenches? They can sit in your tool box for years and when you pull them out the batteries aren't dead or corroded. They're just ready to use.
I use the same tool to relearn my tyre sensors as well, at least it can't be that bad, it certainly works for me.
Something good to know, on many GM cars (Ray prob knows but for everyone else) when you go into tpms relearn the car will light up the indicator on the corner of the car it's expecting next. Just in case anyone forgets where to start and in what direction to go.
The pressure sticker you were looking for was right above the one you were looking at
remove filler cap and dipstick is oil change in progress reminder DUH!
To be honest it would not surprise me if an insurance company was looking at an expensive engine replacement and declined it because of filter/plug supposedly not being correctly torqued.
Ray, from watching your work on these videos I would feel real fortunate to have you working on my car you seem to be very smart!! 🤔🤓🙂
Shop cutbacks so bad you have to reuse the paper courtesy foot mats? 🤦
this is basically the life of a chevy lube tech lmao
Yea. Here is my question. Why do any of the Car Manufacturers Put a TURBO on a Tiny engine??
Ray looks under dash, "Where are you hood?" If you find it under the dash it's a bigger problem than an oil change.
😁
You rotated tires but didn't balance them…….why ? Wouldn't the wear on them require re-balancing?
i like these vid lots dude your cool
SUV's are Station Wagons! 😀
I was at the tyre shop yesterday (yes tyre not tire I'm Australian) there were 3 of us in the waiting room when the phone rang and 2 of us went "Do di do da do" and burst out laughing the third guy just looked at us as if we were mad! 2 of your subscribers had a coffee and discussed your videos, thanks Ray.
Cap,and dipstick indicate no oil,in engine!
Old mechanic's trick.
611th! BOY HOWDY! YIKES! YIPPIE! GOOD EVENING RAY! Roger in Pierre South Dakota
It usually makes the oil drain faster
I always inhale deeply when brake kleen is used
Ray, I was watching another YT channel and the guy got the old oil filter and the new one and placed the seals together, rotated the new one half a turn and it lubed the new filter with old oil without having to touch the oil with your finger. Not a bad idea, I am going to use it.
to remind you that you have drained the oil so you don't try to start the car
I would imagine that you take off the cap and lift the dipstick to allow air into the sump so that the old oil will flow out smoother and no, I haven't heard you say why before.
Um…. the tire rotating thing…. I didn't think you could Cross Rotate Radials!?!?! Front to Back, Back to Front… no switching Right or Left sides…. just straight front to back.
But did you check the condition of the spare? Brake fluid? Coolant? Brake pad wear? Transmission fluid? You probably did, but left them on the cutting room floor.
I see a Jaguar 😃
Glad to see that the owners are following the manufacturer's schedule for oil changes, and not this ridiculous dogma of doing it every 3,000 miles promoted by questionable lube shops. What hasn't changed is the obsession with rotating tyres in North America. Not something I ever do, and it makes no difference in the long term if the tracking is set up correctly, and if it isn't, then it just masks a problem which ought to be fixed. Yes, the front and rears will wear out at a different rate, but so what? You aren't faced with the shock of replacing 4 tyres at the same time. Also, all that effort to retrain the TP sensors necessitated by tyre rotation?
Nb. One US practice I do prefer to some European manufacturers is the use of wheel studs rather than bolts.
I always, always, always request the spare be pressure checked and just don't understand why mechs don't do that since they are right there with the needed tools. It sure is important so you don't think you are good to go just to wind up in the exact same position after changing the tire leaving you on the side of nowhere with no ride.
Hi Ray I find your videos really helpful and interesting but I often wonder how you can do what you do with one hand effectively tied behind your back ie holding your camera even when I am working on my own vehicle I find I have to constantly use two hands and sometimes one foot as well have a great day and enjoy Florida weather because where I am its getting into the middle of winter (Australia) temps down to minus 0° Celsius
I have not seen the video explaining why you remove the oil cap an pull the dip stick up but I would guess same reason I pull the cap before draining oil, it lets air in as the oil drains which allows the oil drain faster. Complete guess on the dip stick but my guess is dual purpose, direct air vent to the pan and a sign the oil change has not been completed
The amazing Kmart torque wrench!! That’s truly amazing😃
Blue light special on brake clean, you know what we like! I think you were filling the tires with helium.
👍
Enjoy watching your videos however where's Peterrrr.
Should have asked us. We saw the pressure sticker.
My 2019 Nox is 35 psi, Premier 19" wheels. My 19 tire sticker is on the bend of the jamb. I enjoy your channel.
I do the same… cap in the latch so if by chance I forget, the hood no close
Why doesn’t the notification bell work on Rainman Ray’s channel?
Never rest your booger hook on the bang switch
What brand torque wrench do you use on tires? What do you consider when using different torque wrenches?
Lmao, the Eric O sound effect
Not doubting you at all, but I heard rotating tires crossways like that, is bad they can break belts inside them, any truth to that or was I miss informed??
Sword fight!! (from Steep Brothers) Awesome…The break clean intro music make me laugh every time. Thanks for sharing.
If some one wants a new Drinking Game, then when Ray mocks the shop phone-Take A Drink.
Yeah I unsubscribed to this channel and stopped watching because Ray is NOT as good as you all think!! He cannot come up with anything original as he took the "tight as a tiger" from another channel or the brake cleaner can from that same channel. So CLICK as I pass this channel on by!!
