A phone ring compressing units powering on let's close these little valves right here here this is the water drain valve. We don't need these filthy. What is with the door. Oh yeah that'll do it yo.
What are you doing oh. What no way your band. You should go back in there bro. That's a good spot dude.
We need to take my swamp cooler and like hook. It up to your toolbox. So when we just turn that thing on it air conditions oh. It's broken okay.
We don't want to start this thing. We're going to push it in she needs yeah. It needs lots of stuff. Oh man.
A bunch of trans fluid on everything. I wonder what happened here hmm. Oh. No that's a that's a transmission.
Pan and an oil pan right. There. That's not good that's not good at all we're assembling everybody here. So we can push the sable into the shop get a better view of what's going on problem is as you can see right here.
It appears to be stuck in park. The driver's front tire is actually sliding on the pavement. This thing is not going to move anywhere. See the tire right there yep.
I'd like to point out you can see right here clearly. We've all gone into some form of primitive caveman mode. Trying to understand what the issue is and now we give up so okay i just saw something today on a tick tock video and i'm embarrassed. I haven't figured this out yet see for years and years and years and for eternity since their existence floor jacks have been driven like so you just kind of nudge them.
Where you gotta go and maybe a pull and swing it right and then you keep driving when you run into something and it stops and you got to swing it off to the side again. I just saw this guy do this this little trick here this is amazing you're not going to believe this watches okay you following give it a push look at that now you just drive it wherever you want watch this. It's amazing. There's just no way and then like when you're done you just park it and then you're good who knew seriously who knew you gotta be kidding.
Me let's do it again. It's a miracle uh. Oh. We got another live one here and it's a jeep hang on hey.
It's not even the same guy. This is a different guy there we go trolling. Everyone now we're safe okay back to our wreck mercury. We can't even push the car and i think it's totaled.
I'm just gonna crawl under take some pictures and whatnot all right let's see what's going on down. Here. Oh. I need a light all right let's see what kind of carnage.
We got oh dang yeah. Transpan is smashed in pretty good. And it did dump out all of its fluid. We just tried to push it in and we couldn't get the wheels to turn this is not good oil pan took a hit it's nasty.
And it won't crank either oh look at that look at that that's one of the control arm bolts. So it shoved the control arm in smashed in the subframe look we're all bent up here here hmm yellow parking curve look at that see the yellow paint yeah this thing's i think it's over with it's over with she gone. What's happening in here. Oh and look at this right here. The transpan is so smashed in you can see how how much it sticks out here versus up in here. How much it's smashed in this is why it won't come out of park like when you select it into a neutral. It you feel it shift. But it's actually physically not going into neutral.
It won't come out of park. Yeah. So we need a subframe and a control arm and a wheel and tire probably a steering knuckle. We need the bolts.
We need well i need to pull the pan down and see if anything in there is smashed and damaged it probably is that would need to be repaired. It's an oil pan oh. This is this car is totaled. Yeah.
It's over this is that's the last leg of this sable. I think it's an o3 mercury sable. But yeah. She's done four this is sad yeah i need to retrieve the goodies.
We're uh. We're all done here no more uh under car inspections. Necessary giving back my jack stand safety power. Gravity.
See if we have enough battery to put the window up. Oh yeah. It's gonna do it cool all right guys. I guess.
That's uh gonna be wrap for this one we're not doing anything it's always like thank you for watching this video hope you enjoyed this video. If you did you know the drill let me know about that by tapping that like button down below. So again as always thank you for watching. And most importantly don't forget to have yourselves a great day.
See you guys later this thing's even gonna start nope. Yeah. We're done we're done here.
I had to do that jack thing after i seen it at lunch but i couldnt wait to so semi-ran to my stall and got my jack and it rolled over a ziptie not as bad as it normally is and then i saw an extension cord. It rolled over that but not without some slight tilting. Better than lifting the whole jack and the pole coming out of the slot and whacking you in the face
was watchin your very first video blogs. They were short and no detailed disassembly and no talking much. You've gone a long way Ray.. whats your yearly anniv on ur vlogs ? hehe.. keep it up man !! luv it !
The jag is still there?
I knew Ray. I've known for decades.
Nothing to see here. Keep moving on. Do not pass go, do not collect $200
Wait wait … how many miles were on the odometer of the Sable??
In a few years time when they Become a Rare car people will spend money to keep them going has the price will go up
vehcor could fix it….
thats kind of a shame. because apart from the underside, the inside looked to be in really good condition.
TY,,,,,,WOW incredible very interesting super kool ,1st class great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA+++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
Wow, that jack trick is really cool. I'm going to be using the crap out of that!
Thankyou for the Jack tip…..Awesome!
That floor jack trick was great, but I worked on 18 wheelers and the floor Jack's for those are like 6 feet (2 meters) long and weight a couple hundred pounds. I don't think that trick will work on those. Best to continue pulling them across the shop.
Engine cradle is all twisted
I'd be willint to be by the looks of that trans pan that the valve body and forward clutches are now intermingled!!
Crusher time
A disabled Sable
I never knew it was called Cave Man Mode.
Hahahaha. Yeah that car was……History.
Keep wrenching brother.
Another Taurus/Sable bites the dust.
I'm 60yo and been a mechanic all my life. And I leands something new. See your never too old to learn.
junk ford
Judging by the flowers on the drivers door it looks to be a woman's car. She hit a curb.
Nice trick with the jack! Thanks a lot! I will put hard, smaller rubber tires on the front and have at it with mine.
I have been driving floor jacks wrong for my whole life……… damn
THAT IS ONE NASTY STOREROOM!
Gotta admit when you first put your foot on that floor jack, I thought you were gonna ride it like a scooter Lol
Get yourself some GoJak! It would allow you to get that kind of wreck into and out of the shop.
please let us know about the car thank you god bless
DAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!
I've been doing that with jacks for 20 years. I have been mocked in shops for doing it because it is "weird."
your shop doesn't have any gojaks?
Even the best of the best (Ray) learn something new every day (rolling a jack).
I move my floor jack like that all the time.
Some of the northern cave men figured out that you can pick up the front of a mercury with a floor jack and drag the car into the shop.
Sometimes I wonder why the transmission and oilpan are built at the very bottom of the car where they are exposed to road hazards? I guess this is partly why so many people buy trucks and SUVs with higher clearance than sedans.
It’s they/them fluid sir 😏
Minimum of engine transmission new sub frame that's 8k minus labour roughly.
AWW MAN i wanted to see you cruisin' up and down the road in that sable
I have been doing the floor jack trick for years
After 50 years of dealing with customers bullshit
I know what it a good customer and
The bullshit customer
So
You bullshit customers
Please go away so we can actually spend our time/ability on peoples cars that actually need work
No homey shit I cants affords that’s shits
Shit
Knows what imz saying
Shit dog
That was a nifty tip with the trolley jack. Best wishes to you, from, Auckland, New Zealand
You still look much better from far away
Parts car! I have an '00 sable wagon that's about to head to the shop for some more than likely way overdue repairs, dunno what else will be found while they're under there.
The Sable isn't Stable anymore.
Ran over a cement truck?
Just ran out to the workshop and tried it with my IndyPro Costco 600# floorjack.
Damn…….
Amalie. Didnt know that was still around.
Sad😟
Some car broke down a block or so away from me. I drove by once and they were cranking wrenches, I come back like 15-20 minutes later and 4 guys just staring at it disappointedly and it not running. I’m convinced cave man huddle is definitely in our DNA
Where is the shop you work at located? I would love to have you take my 2011 Toyota Venza with less than 54,000 miles on it under your wing.
I’ve had to fix this exact issue on my sisters old beater. It was completely totaled. We hooked a come along to a tree and beat everything back into alignment and swapped in a junk yard trans and oil pan and replaced a front strut. Ten years going strong, now my niece is driving it to high school. Funny how it absolutely would have been crushed and non existent if we didn’t do it for free. It’s a better story than when I fixed my other sisters minivan that was run on five cylinders for two years and overheated to hell and back. A week later she nodded out and drove it underneath a dump truck
😳
I thought everyone knew that
But seriously, that poor ford sacrificed itself while searching for a worth owner
😉
Get a couple sets of go jacks, They don't move easily on uneven surfaces however.
Thanks Ray
Looks like Nana was late to Bingo and came into the parking lot a little too hot ! lol
Was kind of hoping he'd pull that pan off.
sub frame is usable it is not bent new trans pan and control arm
Yeah I agree, she's dead Jim.. I mean i'm sure it could be fixed but its just a matter of is it worth fixing with everything that would be needed even in today's market. No doubt that transmission is destroyed at the very least the valve body is smashed and who knows what may have gotten into the internals, new trans needed more then likely. Engine might be ok that oil pan don't look too bad.
1 for the happy hunting grounds
WHY????? Don't they jack the JEEP up by the axle???
Nice buy, junkyard parts, get a sweet indestructible Sable for cheap.
That
reallysucks for the Mercury's driver. Especially considering they seem to be in scrubs, nurses/doctors/have enough to deal with already.Typical Ford garbage! … some people never learn.
Very FUBAR
Steering wheel looked slanted too.
If all else fails, read the instructions.
Saw that on tiktok as well, Ive never been so mad that Ive always done it the hard way.
I hope they have a second vehicle, because insurance is not going to give them a lot for that old car
The jack hack! Amazing!
You know, I was with a friend at one of those do all mechanic shops like the one you work for and it was………..FILTHY!!!!!
It was a wonder that they had not had a fire as yet.
As much money as your employers make, (Mainly because of YOUR mechanical expertise) they could at least steam clean those areas and maybe even paint them if not just for the sake of employee peace and mental well being.
How often are the filters changed on those air compressors?
And are they being maintained by draining the excess water from the tanks?
That whole door frame is about to fall out.
that lock is a joke as all someone has to do is give it a hard kick.
Time for some serious building maintenance!!!!
They are not being very employee conscientious it seems to me.
Anyway.
Great Show!!!!
Ok, yeah, it really bothers me that an employer would allow such conditions to persist and it makes me wonder what else is not being attended to like;
The compressor system throughout the building.
Other machines that are used daily and their potential needed periodic inspections.
A mechanic shop is full of potential dangerous machines if not properly maintained as well as other mechanics that might either not know how to properly use a machine or tool or even know exactly what they could be doing as a standard procedure during a repair attempt.
Like the guy you recently had to make use the jack stands. Those floor jacks can go bad just as easily due to poor maintenance or miss-use.
Waiting for the owner to take care of things like this AFTER an accident is not the time to do something about it.
That's how the government works but should not be the SOP in the private sector.
It was poor maintenance on a door lock that recently got 19 children killed.
You can jack it up, put two jacks under the front tyres and push it like that?
It is a Mercury Di-Sable-d 😁
Put a heavy floor jack under it and wheel it in with that.
Parts car
Wow! A rather large rodent in your toolbox – was it after your sandwiches? Either that or mechanics are not paid enough to afford astronomical Florida rents?! PS: What part are you in – nearest town/city? Just interested. Most English people (like me) only know Orlando and visit the Dinsey attractions.
I did the jack hack… years ago while working at a dealership. One of the techs told me it would mess up the jack..!
I paused for a second, then quickly decided it was useless to reply.🤦♂️
Does Ray have a ponytail
Car go fubar big time
I've been pulling and pushing that stupid floor jack for years, Seriously!!!! I did not know but I do now. where the hell have you been Ray?
Ouch😳😳😳
I love the "primative caveman mode" comment. It reminds me of Bill Murray and Steve Martin "what the hell is that?"
Never seen anyone do that with a floor jack
Give me the car I Will fix it
Shame…the owner looked like medical staff too…
Learning stuff every time. Going to use the jack trick frequently. Thank you.
Cool floor Jack trick Ray! Will have to try it. Yep that car is a goner!
Honestly if the transmission was ok and it was just the pan pushing on something keeping it from shifting, id replace ths tranny pan, screw the oil pan its just scraped and dented if it aint leaking its good enough, replace the control arm and other suspension components so itl be safe enough to drive, and drive it till it dies.. im broke af if i could get a few more months or a yr out of it i would lol
It cant be totaled, there's no rust!
on flipside- My dad was with motorized infantry and artillery unit during vietnam era in new york where it snowed and white out frequently, he and his guys would sleep on top of M60 tank pull bivac tent and snap them together maybe four of them into one long tarp, from commanders and gunner cupola and to the tow bar eye holes, they'd sit under there on top of radiator, they were happy as clam, about 5 of them outside temperatures were about -10 degrees. Gunner or commander would see them thru mirrored cupola periscope and watch and talk to them via telephone connected to back of the tank.
Nice cars, but these have dissolved into clouds of rust in Michiganland
woooooooow…usually I get these and replace a lower control arm. This one is nearly the wosrt I have ever seen. Definitely need a Subframe, but those are very easy to do. wooooooow
You should buy the car from the customer and fix it
what happens when you hit a zip tie with the jack like that
That is good! It has removed a putrid pile of Fraud junk from the road thus making the roads of your area a lot safer.
Been doing the jack trick since the 80's!
Thanks for the laugh of the day!
Thanks for doing that
that car is toast……lol
You need some wheel dollies to put under each wheel and then push it into the shop. One of the high schools in my area used dollies to maneuver several cars around in a limited auto shop area.
That was one heck of a wake up call, hope the driver is ok
