I had a clutch go out in My 07 tacoma, have to replace the whole compressor but whatever, 15 years of just maintenance I dont mind, shop put new compressor on, runs good for a few months then all kinds of problems, leaks, noises, junk coming out. Quite frankly I think they dumped the oil out of the new compressor and didn't replace it, they gave me the evaporator coil in the box it was the new one not the old one. Then they went out of buisness……
Get in there with some needle nose action lol😅😅😅
Nice. I don't know that I'd trust flushing lines and evap though.
What's the background song?
You wouldn’t be a technician without some electrical tape wrapped around a finger 😂
That is a grenaded system and it needs more than a flush
I have never seen one that bad
Freon ? Who still uses Freon ?
Damn that pump is clapped. Good call checking orifice tube.
Ive been working on a lot of ACs lately. So much that my wife suggested that i start a specialty, auto ac service company. If you can rebuild parts to the system, you can save a lot of money.
Most of the time we'd be saving customers money by just buying a whole new system lol
Your gunna wanna flush that lol
"NOW THERE'S YER PROBLEM!!!" LOL!
liquid line filter required
Chinese parts
Anytime I have a compressor fail like that I replace the condenser along with the receiver drier, orifice tube. They are typically inexpensive these days. Flush the crap out of the Evap core and all the lines. Vacuum the system down for at least an hour before adding the final amount of comp oil to the drier or Accumulator. I've never had a system comp fail because of leaving trash in the system.
Those types of things suck large. Especially on a big truck with heat and ac in the bunk. Good for us not so good for the guy paying the bills. I would also think that I can say that this isn't the type of thing that happens because of no or little maintenance. I guess you could change the receiver dryer or accumulator depending on what type of system it has. Ty for putting this type of thing up for the world to see 👍 🇨🇦
Looks like wrong oil charge in system.
The front seal on my compressor housing blew out. Slung compressor oil all over the front of my motor
Replace the whole system gonna plug up again
I’ve done this a long time and I’ve done this job somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 times, and it never ceases to amaze me! 😊
As soon as I heard it, I knew it was a shiver.
How much pressure and what solution are you pushing through the system to clean
Ford's black sand problem
Old cars are so much better to work on . The new ones are a hep of scrap if you can not repair them yourself.
For a second I thought it was an 01 honda….
More ICE junk
Go electric
poor old ninja thought it was a caddy…..lol
Sounds good me👍
-friend who's tired of being a free mechanic
😂
That's what the orifice is supposed to do its a filter with a fitted name
That unit is as dirty as I imagine gay people see all the time
gah dang, that compressor is smoked lmao
Who needs Ac
That looks environmentally friendly 😂
That sir is what we in the A/C industry call the Black Death.😢😢😢
Some of you aluminum parts want to abuse you, some of them want to be abused
Don't fucking tell the there's ac compression maintenance that you have to do everynow and then…
Interesting
The pump is wore out from not having the oil put back in it from where the AC has ben vacumed and recharged . You need a new pump, the origional is fuct.
There goes your whole ac system
I not got my AC ticket and you can't make me get it, give that job to the service tech.
I bet that's what the oriface in my car looks like. Compressor sounded like marbles in a bag before completely failing. I have yet to change it, but I know it's going to be a whole process trying to clean everything up after the damage that I'm sure it has endured.
a hole in the side of the block because of the orphus tube ?
Some things are bulletproof, others have a thousand to one flaw (They saved a dollar in China). Such a pity you bought that one…
Flush the whole system
victim here at 148k, thought my mechanic was pulling my leg, had tons of shrapnel in the entire system. $1600
Hole in the side of the block? That was the AC compressor shredding. Has nothing to do with the engine block getting a hole in it.
Do ALL AC units on cars have a filter/orifice like that ????
I have never seen anyone take apart a compressor ever. With that kind of damage most places try to sell a complete system because of contamination in the condenser coil or if it has a dryer on it. Let alone if it has an expansion valve. I have seen some do a system flush like that but sometimes it does not save anything that is left. Customers always come back with "my air is not blowing cold" or "I think its making noise again" Tell ya one thing that one really blew its guts out.
More reasons why I always buy Toyota.😂
New compressor, most likely new condenser, new orifice tube/TXV (whatever applies), new AC drier/accumulator, uhhh basically new everything except the evaporator and the lines
Eurythmics, nice.
Fubar.
Good by compressor!
The black death.
Say what you want but facts are cold hard facts.
Honda buick Hyundai and all those little cheap bs cars have ac probably and all typa weird issues. Same thing with those weird 2.4L equinox cars from Chevy, they have extreme engine failures.
Bmw, dodge, and ford have great ac compressors, and if you want a cheap car get a camaro
And you too can have air-conditioning again for the low low price of 10000 dollars when your system looks like that
Gotten have a/c in Texas.
🤔
The AC compressor in my 2015 Ford Focus SE 2.0 has been making that sound for almost a year. The AC still works fine. Sometimes the noise is almost silent, but usually it sounds like that. I thought it was the compressor clutch. Any suggestions? I’m thinking as long as it still works, no problem.
i have a lot of series 2 parts and block if anyone is interested
Does every cars AC system have a filter like that?
Seen this over and over again. You have to replace the condenser on newer vehicles, because you can not flush them.
Also, I've discovered that some of the evaporators are the same design.
Either im a dumass cuz idk wht part it that coming off of ..A.C..???..im guessing cuz the belt and alow metal pipes.????
That’s one day cycling on Louisiana heat
I had 1 compressor shit itself. I tore that mfer apart, took everything out of it and turned it into an idler.
Hence all that popping around?
I know that GM/Delphi V5 compressor well =)
Is that the purpose of the orrfice tube?
Original compressor going strong in my 03 Lexus Rx300 and 95 Celica
😢
RIP AC compressor.
Whyd u have to add that goofy ass song
at around 275k [maybe a bit more] my water pump decided to crack. – 2004 avalanche
☠️
Is that an old 3.8 Pontiac trans Am.
Mine was way worse
my friend, that is called 'swarf'.
Just buy an EV
Remove it all ….😢😢😢😢
Just reminded me i need to get the metal flushed from when my old compressor in my Sebring seized two years ago and i just replaced the compressor and took the fuse out so it wouldn't engage and kill itself instead of getting it flushed and charged at the same time, tbanks. Lmfao
Factory recall!
I call bullshit on the orfice tube….they never come like that……😅
That baby makes its own glitter
Well thats not good , totally gummed up . No wonder it made that noise dang
What an awesome video and all that crap Wow.
My compressor did this last summer. After 360k miles I can't complain but I've not changed it yet.😢
I guess it’s time to start deleting a/c units
That’s when you replace every component of the a/c u less you wanna have more a/c problems later
This man openly commiting EPA violations. Finna send this to them to collect a bounty. If yall dont know and arnt EPA 609/608 certified. When you snitch on skmeone for venting the epa calls it a "bounty" and theyll pay you for them lmaooo
Orifice and unit in the same sentence??? Damn, you sunk my battleship!
I see the problem it's a pontiac. 😂
Pontiac Firebird 3.8
When the car makes the Predator clicking sound when it cranks, TURN IT OFFFFFF hahaha
Little trick I learned flushing evap Cores Put a hose on the other end and put it in a bucket. Almost no mess.
2004 Honda Cr-v's did something similar due to poor sealing on the compressor. moisture would get in and begin to corrode the system, and then it would destroy itself
Sweet dreams are made of these.😊
ZZP rebuild time?
Had that happen to our old Ford Flex. That car was the biggest piece of shit ever. 😄
