Now that you have everything cleaned up folks, it's time to reinstall a sealer. Time to install the seal. I Want to get this where everybody can see. sometimes that light's too bright.

It's a bright light light bright. Do you have a light bright growing up? Miss though I don't think I did I don't really know you did not have a light Bri I I don't really remember it. Who you would remember I know cuz if you had a light bright, you had an Easy Bake Oven I didn't have an easy bake oven and you didn't have a light bright. you probably didn't even have an etchy sketch you I definitely have sketch.

Oh, there's a part number for these inner seals. What did you draw on your ET sketch stairs like the rest of the world? No, the rest of the world is drawing wieners. Oh, if you're an immature boy, you would. Um, Anyhow, here's the seal.

It's a seal in the seal, so it has this little sleeve in here. you see. Okay, make sure that little guy doesn't pop out, your axle goes in and then bonds to this baby and that's actually what spins on the seal. Okay, just wanted to show you that, make sure everything's cleaned up.

What we're going to use to install this seal is your classic inch and 11/16 socket because it fits it. Very lovely and we're going to get it started a little bit by hand. stick it up here. going to kind of hold that this is going to hand us the hammer she got right here.

Don't be all wild here. So with the same pipe that we use for cleaning, uh out the axle tubes I think we used the pipe? No, we didn't. We use the pry bar but we're going to use a piece of pipe here. piece of black pipe.

this is those out on the end of the knuckle. I'm going to hold this like this. It's kind of annoying where this light is. um I'll try to hold it like this so we can all see all right.

Miss though. uh, grab on the end of that. okay um. pick up on it there a little bit old girl.

Okay, go ahead and tap that hard. Oh okay. this minute, can you pick up on the end of that shaft? So it's there. We go.

Okay, go ahead you want? We keep it like centered. Yep, Yep, just a minute. Let me see. You just want to kind of pull out here occasionally and make sure that the Seal's going in nice and straight.

Okay, go ahead there. Miss just a minute. I Just want have a look. Oh, it feels good y you're bouncing back.

We got a little bit more at the top. All right. get after it. Miss give a second pick up on your shaft there.

All right. Drive her home. Yep, Yep. Yep.

So I can feel the bounce back. Let me just have a look. Don't pull, don't pull out yet I don't know what you're talking about. Don't even give me that.

Don't you act like oh, I'm just innocent I am innocent. All right. Go back in your office. Thank you So there's come on woman.

Stop. Seriously. I'm trying to do something here. so there's our seels installed.

like I say make sure your little sleeves are in there. Okay, and that's it. That's all you got to do. Uh, we put them both in I just showed you putting one in but you do them both the same and that's the piece of pipe that I used I don't know what diameter it is.

it might be like a piece of 1 in pipe. It is that big. Let's see. So now we're going to put the differential back in now.

I've already gone ahead and gotten everything cleaned up now. Remember to keep your races and your shims on the appropriate side, which discussed only moments ago in the video and then what we need to do is get this bad boy up in here. We'll see if we can do this effortlessly, which I'm sure we won't. We'll drop stuff, we'll turn the camera off.

There's that side. I'm hoping Falls right in the world that we could do it like this, but usually end up sliding her all in or one shot here doesn't go as smooth as we like it to be nice if we had a case spreader but we don't cuz we don't do a lot of stuff like this. All right. we getting close and we're going right a little too far off to you.

Got to be careful with these these shims cuz like I said, they are cast and you can break them if you're hitting them with the big old. Hammer So we're just using the plastic hammera cuz what can go wrong with a plastic camera? Lots of stuff. All right, we're close. Let me get a little something else here.

Little piece of pressure treated that works. Pretty good piece of pressure treated up there. That one's solid. That one's solid.

Backlash is perfect. Absolutely perfect. We don't know that for a fact, but what we do know is we didn't change anything. Okay, so before we get super going crazy in the comment section about gear marking, compound, and setting up the differential, we didn't change anything.

All we did is replace the seals uh, the bearing races and the shims went on the exact side that they came off from. Therefore, there's no change. no need to do anything tear AP and put back together. We got our double dots over here, line back up for whatever marking system you decided to use.

Got our single dot on this side over here. Let's go blow the dust back off that 5/8 socket and Zippy zap those down close enough and it still goes around. That's a miracle, right? Kidding. I'm kidding there.

That's all I needed. We'll give these babies the final squeeze now. Oh, squeeze that one a little too much. so spec on these ones is 45 pbet of torque.

We're doing them around 47 49 wherever it stops. All right, there's that, that's done. Let bring this here where we can see under the cross shaft now what we're going to do before even putting it together, We'll just slip our axles in right, pop the new U joints in. if you want to know the process of installing U joints.

we've already done one of these little guys. it was on a Jeep Wrangler I think even the same year. I'm going to link that video down here. so if you want to know how to change the U joints I think in that video we showed a lot of the cleany upy process.

The only thing we didn't do in that last video was the guy's inner axle seals. so I just didn't want to have a big old repeat down on this end of the axle. I put a little bit of lube which she's going to slide into that sleeve on that seal. Okay, and then I I left the little guide me and deal on here I usually Chuck those in the trash.

but and then you know of course we got the new Mr floppy down here on the end. super floppy but you know a new joint. the long shaft, right side slider in. we shouldn't feel it start to engage in that seal providing we got the right seals.

Wouldn't that be something? There we go, field, engage in the rear or in the diff bada bing bada boom and then we come over here. We do the same thing on this side, but we got to move our little hook over here. move our little hook right over here. straighten that up.

Let me get a little Gob grease. All right. I'm just using a little bit of wheel bearing grease here. take the shift, wipe it off, have this cleaned up.

Go. We'll give her a little dabble of Grease right here. We'll slip on one of these little fellas and man, the short side's usually pretty easy to line up once you get her up there. I Don't you guys can see you know you're in the make sure we're in the Spes there.

Yep, we are. Yes sir. Guide me in baby. The new seals can be pretty stiff.

There we go, so want to make sure we is in all the way. I'll show you here on the spider gears. you'll see the ax little protrusion there just about to the center lock pin and this distance really doesn't matter because once we put the wheel bearing in and we tighten our axle shaft up, it's going to pull out until it, you know, tightens in the bearing there. Well the rest of it pretty easy.

I Just stuck our tie rod right there for the time being. The hard part, well cleaning everything up. Let's see. I Took the wheel bearings I've got them all sand blasted and ready to go back in.

Slip our bolts in here brand new ones Sixpoint head like they should be from the factory but they're not and then we have a dust shield somewhere there we go figure out how that little guy goes. Probably something like that we guess. Got the hole for the spint sensor. We'll take that back off, feed the wire back through rips down the back of our wheel bearing.

Make sure you clean these little guys up. You know what? I mean St Blast Wire wheel It do what you got to do to get it clean. Oddly enough, when you read uh in service data gosh dang it all the heck. There we we go.

Um, when you're reading in service data, they want you to install the wheel bearing onto the axle shaft prior to installing the axle shaft. Thought that was kind of interesting I don't think I've ever done that my life. and I imagine it's probably keeps you from driving right straight through the seal or getting your you know your depth too far. I Don't know if that's possible, but yeah, if you have Factory Service info, you should go through and read the process for axle shaft iron.

R It's pretty interesting so we're going to take and spin these down. We'll torque them to factory specs. I Don't think in part one in the removal I showed taking the ABS wire off all the way. They hook on right up behind the strut.

Tower You have to go up under the hood or you have to pop the hood and go under the hood and disengage them from where they are held on. They're kind of a piss pot. they're in a bad spot. Then you slide them to the side, you got to fiddle around with the red lock, say a couple of swear words, and then you're home free.

So I think these are tighten down to 75 footb. Double check your service manual. there's that one top one. We got a little way to go yet almost there.

A perfect world. The Wheel Won't fall off or the Hub rather give that a little Spritz Got we ax them up. Now we're going to start threading this little guy through through the knuckle. We're going to put it on the little holder we popped it off from and this little guy right here.

If you guys can see it or not, maybe he can and then remember this one was all zip tied down to here on this brake hose. We'll run this down through. What we'll do is we'll get this up plugged in where it belongs and then see where we need to zip tie. I Think it's just that middle section because the rest rest of this Clips on the hose.

What in the world? They couldn't put this thing in a little better spot there? Okay, that's all in I Put the red clip back in it for the next guy, but they plug in right directly behind the shock. Tower That's where the two holes are. That's where you put the connector back when you're all done there. now.

Hopefully we've got the wire running the right direction. We dooo cuz that would be a terrible mistake. Well, it wouldn't be terrible since we'd have to unplug it. We just spent 45 minutes getting it plugged in.

Okay, there we go and there must be a missing bracket up here where this this one is or was or supposed to be. And let's get some zip ties, zip tie this back how it was or we could come in clutch which is what we're going to like to do. We're going to put one of these little guys on there. We're going to put this thing so Factory Oh, do they really go this way? Who would B of these things? We're going to come in super Factory Style with the Christmas tree zip tie and flush Cuts way.

Nobody gets hurt. We'll even make them go the same way for our OCD viewers. Okay, that's just the kind of nice guys we are. We'll flush cut it.

the other side had this on there cuz apparently nobody had fiddled with it. Um, we're going to run this one down on the inside. What's up Miss though? um, we're rolling so make sure you don't see anything naughty. What should I charge the Mazda $1 million rever r Brandon yeah, nothing you can't charge.

You want to go to Hell woman? huh? I Don't think that's that. Well, if it was Works based religion, that's how it works. All right one. let's see here.

And then these ones will go on this. Brak hose once we put the brakes on, but now we've got her all Factory looking in case in case he goes to the car show. keep that from getting all nasty and Rusty slip this on I tighten up our axle nut a little bit because I came I Went ahead and tightened up that little guy over there. the tie R in So I didn't forget.

That's not a thing you want to forget so rest assured it was torqued to Speck This has not been torqued to spec though, so we're going to hold that on. We've got our bracket. We get a little bit of the blue Loctite Looks like he's got this stuff all lubed up already. He just did his own brake job so should be good to go.

Got the blue Loctite on there. we'll slip that in I think these are 100 ft-lbs I'll look it up and double check it for sure. but I think that's what it said for the caler mounting bracket. Sounds about right 21.

Oh good. Guess that one's tight. That one's tight. However, before you put your caliper on, install your pads which we will do.

got the Squealer on the Leading Edge There, that's it. We put them on in the same direction in which we took them off. We're going to grab a little silly Ramic Here we'll just put a little on our finger. folic Pistons We're going to wipe a little.

hey, it's that guy on the inside of our ears here. not your ears on your head, the ears on these caliper brackets. Hopefully this thing hasn't pushed out at all. All right, Doesn't appear that it has, cuz it slips on ever so so gingerly.

Almost perfectly. Get a dirty napkin wipe your fingers on. Hello! Come over here. get your caliper bolts in there.

Make sure when you're putting this on you don't put a little pigtail on it cuz if you do, we'll show thousands of people on the internet and they'll act like they've never done it before. There's that one. We'll do the upper one here. There's that one lightly snugged.

The only thing we have left over here. if this video fits together seamlessly, it'll be blown away. Let's see, we're going to torque this down. That's 100 lb feet of torque on that little fell according to service data or 107.5 is what we went to.

That's pretty well that on this side folks. now. I've just got to go ahead and do the same thing on the other side. see where our wires are up to there.

Everything's plugged in, everybody's happy, everybody's torqued down. New U Joint installed. Last thing we're going to do is throw the cover on the diff I Was looking at my work there I Just showed you and this guy forgot to put the ABS wires on that brake hose. fig I' tell you I Went back through and did that before somebody's keyboard catches on fire.

So we're going to use a gasket I don't know why had a gasket on it. Typically these are silicone from the factory. They got a big thick cover and a nice machine surface. so you can use a paper gasket if your little heart desires.

Somebody had silicone the gasket to the cover. not not real sure about that, but we'll just pop her in dry like this. or if you want you can just silicone. the cover on Permex makes a silicone specific for gear oil actually.

And a little fun fact: if you get the factory Mopar stuff the black stuff and you get some of the factory Mopar Transmission RTV and you mix the two together so one's black and the one's orange. If you mix them together, they smoke I'm not sure why but they do. It's always fun to do my friend that works at Chrysler God showed me that. So naturally the first thing I did when I got off the phone with him when he was telling me that is I mix them together.

Now'll be D smoked. It was a long time ago we talked about it. I Remember getting really excited about it. We'll do some skipping around here for a moment, kind of get them somewhat close.

We get too excited see if we skipped any. Oh yeah, we missed that one. No particular order. Let's make sure we have more really close.

Perhaps the first time in my life I've ever torqued a differential cover on camera. We'll say, well, look at that. We got them all. We're done.

Put little oil in it. We're going to fill her up with the 80 Dub 90. Just conventional. You can use whatever you like Factory Fills 80 du 90.

Okay well you can't see cuz of the way the the glare is or whatever the weight balance but that's it's all hooked back up I think everybody's happy now it's all put back together. we'll just leave it on the lift. overnight should be dry in the morning right? Everything's good. He's got his new axle joints that's what he came here for and his seals.

Other than that, going home who's ready? Go 81,000 211 on this little guy. Wheels are on, wheels are torqued Windows Going up it's a new day I think I thought we had left to do is go drive this little fell. It looked like everything else was boled on and tightened down. The thing is, the guy was going to drop this thing off at my shop last week or something and started driving it here and then ended up having it towed here cuz he didn't dare drive it cuz it was doing something I guess it was vibrating real bad I don't know if there's any lights on but no lights on now so I'm going to take it for a little bit of a drive before I call him cuz I think he is like an hour away or something so we'll go Cruise it oh m oh he.

that's it folks. uh seems to run and drive good. Uh, as far as the other problem they're having I'm not sure I'll speak to the customer a little more and maybe get some more details, but it seems to run and drive nice to me. Uh, the job we did turned out good.

the inner axle seals and then the um axle ujoint. So I think I mentioned earlier maybe the other day when we were doing a video on this that I'll link. uh, the other video we did on the Jeep where we did front axle joints and I don't know if we ended up doing wheel bearings or something but where we actually I think we just did maybe the front front U joint something like that. So I'll link that video so you can see how I put the U-joints in this same way I did them on that.

you know we just you know, chop them out P the new ones in and you know, good to go. So so that's it.
