Connector c1 under hood fuse box melted wire
what test light is that?
Had this same exact to the T situation I was facing today! Thought way back about this video and sure enough wire to ign riding on that same location of fuse box braket green crusties. Gave er a tug and popped in two! I have learned so much from you! Eternally grateful for all you have taught me throughout the years! You rock!
If you connect the test light directly to the battery on the negative side even with a jumper you always have a good ground then
gm puts the labled stickers in there fuse covers because they know there stuff doesnt work
Gear shifter wiggle is what it takes on my 2010HD
Maybe you can help me gonna be a semi long story but I will keep it short. My 2015.5 silverado duramax started with no sounds from speakers or turn signals. After turning it off and on again they would work. I did this recently and all the lights flickered and only one click. I got the batteries tested and they said both had bad cells. Replaced and still one click no flicker. Replaced the starter and still same thing. Every fuse and relay under the hood and inside have been checked and all good. Except for the 60a on top of the battery it doesnt show 12v. I dont know where that goes to. But I am close to sending it to the dealer if it doesnt start after jumping that fuse. I am tired of throwing money at it like a stripper to get it to start
what will cause an ignition switch to fail?
So it needs ignition switch mine did all this i jumped the wires and it fired right up
wow, amazing detail on this diagnosis! Too bad it's not my exact problem. I am starting to have a few electrical issues with my duramax; trailer tow harness and no crank starting issues.
I got no start no codes. Replaced the fuel pump/filter egr valve plugs an wires roter cap. Only starts if I give it some starting fluid any idea why
So what wire was it ?? The pink one ?
Great video man I think I may have the same problem I might. If u can do it i can do it👍👍
Awesome persistence!
It really helps me to see process.
Ha ha I saw part two already🤫 hint- look for the powder
I have a 1998 Silverado no crank no start replace the starter replace battery security not on what do I do please help
Ive got an '00 Silverado 1500 5.3 and am having intermittent starting issues. You turn the key to start you can hear the relay click, but no crank. New battery and headlights look good. Not a battery issue. Because this issue only happens 1 out of every 4 or 5 start attempts I believed my ignition switch is good. When it didn't work its just dead in the water for 10 or so attempts (2 mins) but eventually one would take and she fired up. I figured the contacts in the starter must be wearing and finally gave in and installed a new starter/ solenoid. NOW I still intermittently have the issue about every once of every 4 or 5 attempts (as before), but when I have a failed attempt, she ALWAYS starts on a 2nd subsequent attempt right after. So the new starter definitely has helped. I pulled the steering wheel column cover and all checked all connections, appear good. I also swapped my Headlight and Starter relay's in the fuse box to make sure that wasn't the problem, no cigar. Where should I go from here?
Nice troubleshooting.
I laughed so hard when you touched a ground!!😂😂😂😂😂 it's ok it happens to the best of us. Lol
Ding ding ding ding when panel removed ??
I have a 2004 GMC 3500 Sierra the battery was dead so ask someone for a jump he hooked the jumper cable up the wrong way now the truck won’t start I would turn the key n it does nothing but the lights come on an the dashboard too I’ll take the key out an everything would still be on only way to get it off is to disconnect the battery I’ve checked all the fuse but some one told me that there is a open circuit N would the computer be damage if the jumper cables was hooked up the wrong way. Thank you
I had a few GM minivan and also four or 5 1/2,3/4 ton 1 ton Chevy truck with the main feed wire green with envy underneath the fuse box , later 80s 90s and 2000 model year,no crank, power ,then power slowly goes away
Must be a broken wire, usually under fuse box,,look for green crustys…lol….lol..lol…lol..ur the man
Hey, I know this might be off topic, well it is. lol Has one out there including Mr O changed a starter on a 07 Hummer with a 3.7. I've change a bunch of them but not a Hummer. Book time is 3.8. says you gotta pull the intake manifold to change it. Any body got any tricks besides a cutting torch and a pry bar???? lol ! Sure would appreciate some help here. Thanks for your time. I'm sorry Mr O for barging in on your channel but you guys are great. thanks again.!

You don't carry jumper cables with you?!
Hooked up the test light to battery power??? Did you just make your own $5 power probe?

a bad ignition switch in a GM product??? nah, never.
When my Malibu did this it was the starter.
just kidding cowboy fans
Do have a power probe? One of the best tools I have found for troubleshooting electrical issues.
Was that a Cowboys sticker in the window? That could explain the no start. If its playoff time. Another good video Eric.
Were you poking the wires with the test light? It didn't look like you did! What type of test light is that?!
Looking foward to part 2
Eric, You have to put together a go bag of tools if you are going to do these house calls. Don't think you would need too much..Take Care
when the parts make Mexico, no best
Thanks a lot Eric! You are putting out so much awesome video content lately I had to quit my day job. I'm now an official SMA watcher, the benefits package includes 3 weeks of yoga class per year. I can't lose with this career move.
