In this video we swap out a shift control lever in a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic. The little button on it has snapped making it very difficult to put in and out of gear. We find out it is full of all kinds of nasty stuff. -Enjoy!

Is there someplace to go to order the part and get the instructions sheet? Or do I need to go to the dealership?

I put a new battery in my 2017 sonic now my airbag warning light is on and warning about dis brakes only has 12800 miles on it any reason why just replacing battery this would happen

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Richard Quinn says:

So what was broken on the shifter that required it to be changed? If it was the little chrome button, they make a kit for that. Costs like $20.

    와우

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars theFormidable1 says:

this repair fix is overkill. You didn't need to change out the whole shifter just to fix the trigger. you could have just take off the lever casing and replace the trigger with a replacement kit for 15 bucks

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Nun Yabz says:

I just got a 2021 Chevy Trax. I accidentally dropped a dime into the gear shift. What should I do? Should I be worried about future transmission problems?

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars LyonTamer says:

I would also be interested in learning how to fix the volume knob on my stereo, the connection seems loose and I have to turn it continuously to get the volume to respond. Hopefully this can be fixed without replacing the entire stereo.

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars LyonTamer says:

I found this video wile looking for instructions about my child lock switch that doesn't work at the moment because it and the traction control button next to it, are gummed up with spilled drinks. Neither switch lights up, and the rear doors do not open from inside, stuck in child's mode. The bottom of the cup holder right in front of those buttons, pops out. I think I can reach under there through that cup holder and unplug and clean those switches without taking apart all that other stuff. Do you have another video that talks about fixing or replacing those switches?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but all you needed to do was remove the top of the shifter and replace broken button with a replacment kit for less than $15! Now I see why some garages were charging there customers tons of money!

The speed output ring gear in my 1999 Legnum VR4 broke recently, necessitating the removal and splitting of the gearbox to replace it. Decided while it was out to upgrade the clutch, replace shifter forks, carrier bearings etc. $3340 later…

Anyway, I washed the car, vacuumed and wiped the interior before dropping it off 🙂

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Stephen Martin says:

In my 41st year when our daughter came along… And 21 years later, I love saying to her "Well, my generation thought up the internet, game consoles, smart phones, Plasma and OLED TV's, LED lighting, remote control systems, lidar, auto parking cars, shopping from home, modern plastics and clothing materials, bulk transport systems, turned wasteland into viable crop capable land, and even how to bring water to almost backward nations to feed the world. What will your generation do?

And as I don't have any time for this so called "Global warming" crap…

I must admit I was surprised you could move the lever without applying the brake first, I thought that was originally a 'mercan safeguard that the world followed…

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars A Physics Professor says:
