In a previous video https://youtu.be/9bi0pfXNRB4 we had a look ata T&C that came in with a rusty oil pan and a misfire. Easy fix, just needs a coil and some plugs. What could go wrong? Hold my coffee....

Would you be able to help me with a schematic for my 2011 ford transit connect xl? I am having trouble diagnosing a vent valve issue but I need to test the PCM output for correct ground switched voltage I just cannot find a pin out anywhere online.
It's not good to lose your *hit! Although, I've done it several times. I once threw my distributor in the lawn, for some reason it wouldn't go in the engine….. Stuck like a lawn dart in the lawn! My wife wasn't amused at my behavior. I try to take a breath and calm down! LOL. Glad you didn't panic with that one plug. I would have freaked out! Handled it like a boss! Great job for Mrs. O getting the deer and bow hunting to boot! Good skill for the zombie apocalypse! "Lots of oil leaking back here good, good, good, good"! I love it! Good point on the spiral easy out putting pressure on what your trying to remove. Great video as usual!
Cat haz spaget !🍝🍝
Nothing hurts worse than seeing people put a big ol dab of insulating grease on something that needs to make good electrical contact…
"Yall seen what happen der didn't ya"?😀
741K subscribers, Eric! Noice! I spread the good word every chance I get. Thanks for the lessons, entertainment and everything else.
Did you see the one where the guy pulled a screw out of the hoof, wow.
Step 5: break EZ-out off in hole. Step 6: swear profusely. Step 7: try to remember where your carbide drill bits are.
👍👊🇺🇲 yum yum over the lips over the gums look out belly here it comes
I love the typical phrase you use all the time. “It’s the classic (insert part number).” Or “Got us a part from Napper, not a sponsor by the way.”
I agree with you on the air tools. My personal favorite is the ole butterfly
No antisieze on the spark plugs?
6th step go to the gas station buy 2 bucks of gas 7th step burn the pos to the ground if 1 to 5 don't work lol
That's so funny, I have recently got into watching cowhoof trimming also. The hoof GP and Nate the hoof guy.
I live in Canada Ontario and my Toyota van frame is totally rotted out at the back good van runs perfect but not worth fixing
Love the ol fashion mechanic way! Nice job! Love those town & country’s. Nice touch at the end injecting a little personal time into your video. Nice well rounded clip. Keep going strong!
I never even considered that 100k miles on your spark plugs in the rust belt might lead to the spark plug rusting in half. Bummer.
Something tells me you might not have been able to follow step one if that spark plug broke in the rear head.
It’s funny because I was the exact opposite with my electric/air tools. As soon as I bought my electric tools, I basically never used my air tools again. The only one I ever used again was the 1/2” air impact, and that’s just because my 1/2” electric impact was intentionally pretty small. I bought good quality Milwaukee electric tools and had enough batteries to have a couple batteries charged at all times.
Don't tell Mrs. O that you put lube in the wrong hole Mr. O…
Probably the only time an oil leak is beneficial…rust prevention.
I knew Mrs. O would get the first deer of the season. Way to go Mrs. O!
Belden Wires never let me down… Used to get then at Long Pond Auto Parts in Gates, NY. Not a fan of Champion plugs anymore though! Maybe they have gotten back to good QC, but back in the day they were the only plugs that had thread issues..
I replaced the plugs On an 89 coupe de Ville Took me 4 hours ,It had the sideways V8
Ha! Yeah, those hoof trimming videos are awesome! I watch them all the time.
The compressor kicking on is the air clapping at your victory
… but the air power will make you deaf. 😉 Just like fans in a factory or shop. Also, good money trimming cow toenails. Salute! On the deer harvest under GOD's power.
Why not use anti-seize on the threads to keep the plug from rusting/seizing again?
Or the job can just start stupid because it's a turbocharged Subaru Forester.
Mmmmm. Venison!!!
I'm the same. total addict of hoof trimming. i think its the puss
You post content and Ms O hunts, works for us!! Atlas..
So, no anti-seize on those treads?
Nate the hoof Guy!
Incredible how many different styles of red clips Chrysler has produced. I have 2 held together with zip ties.
I can remember my father gapping plugs with his thumbnail back in the day. He also had the calibrated torque elbow for head bolts. He'd hold the breaker bar a certain way and when his elbow popped it was good. Man I miss him. Lots of hours in the garage together.
I want my vehicles to run until there is no fixing them anymore
350/400,000 miles…
I just couldn't deal with that rust
Its yours enjoy
Great video, appreciate the explanation about the extractors!
I like to watch those guys that forge horse shoes out of a chunk of steel.
And the Chinese guys that trim donkey hoofs.
And the watch repair guys. Amazing.
But I always come back to Eric O. and his lovely wife.
Everyone knows it's the black handled screwdriver…
LOL I have two of those exact extractors that you like that's pretty funny
How much fuel has that guy been wasting for the last 50,000 mile ….?
Or did he buy it in that neglected condition ….
"The classic reach around, Brooksy🔨 and panther🐅 pee", Oh my. Mrs. "O"🎯
Easy on the drama🎥, MeMaw Jr🏁
The cat🐈 and the dog🦮 r gonna have the squirts💩…
Have you tried SP air tools. They last well and have tons of grunt for their size. Nice lunch it beats my sandwich yogurt and banana. I can remember one of my work mates struggling to get broken plugs out of an outboard that had plugs with a 10mm or 12mm diameter thread. All you had to do was look at them and they broke.
I think many people can relate to the cow hoof videos, Hoof GP is a good one.
those must be the original plugs…. looks like never been changed ever
need to find out why everything is so rusty on this car… may have lived by the ocean in it's past life…
the engineer should try to do service on a part or section of the car they designed… I think cars would be lot easier to work on if they did that…
I like to see that you are human like the rest of us when things don't go right. However, you held your composure.
Up north it's "yous guys" not "yaw'll".😄
I'm there with ya, I live pretty much in the middle of the city and love watching those hoof trimming videos. Don't own cows and haven't been around them in over 10 years.
We were getting 12,000 miles out of GM plug wires. Switched to cheap wires and got 50,000 miles out of them.
all that and you didn't almost run yourself over. good job
😲Mrs. O is an assassin… 🏹🦌
Happy cat!
Happy animals, full-stop.
That twist extractor tool is also good for removing the fitting behind a shower faucet to mount the faucet base for either hot or cold water. Quite the beast.
tenderloins is a delicacy! try it in a cast iron pan with butter(the real stuff, not better than) and garlic, some salt and pepper and some onion, on low for like 30 min, cut into half inch chunks(like beef stew size) it literally melts in your mouth. Old wisconsin recipe.
Poachin with Mrs O…🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤪🤪🤪🤪. God is good. 🤙
Hoof gp subscriber
good job getting that broken plug out…no 'never seize' on the plug threads?
I love the sound of the air stuff too, but my home work environment is the side of the road, and not so easy to get air out there, so the cordless stuff is a godsend for me.
There's a reason body shops use air tools.
Always enjoy your Vids. One question – I always use Kopr Kote on any steel fastener/sparkplug going into an aluminum head/block. Do you ever use it ? I realize that this engine may well have cast iron cylinder heads.
DeWalt IS expensive and useless.
So, if the oil leaking at the back makes the job easier, why not spray the front ones down with something before trying to undo them?
Just asking.
I felt bad for you when that plug separated as I have a Ford 5.4
Step one. Well your making a video so keep your cool. Uhh yep and that ladies and gentlemen is why I could never make a video.
I prefer ngk sparkplugs over champion every day.
I know they are oem but i have bad experiences with champion plugs
Everything is "somewheres".
Never trusted Champion plugs, sorry.
Let me down too many times.
Maybe you should take up hoof trimming, Mr O? Remember, If he can do it, You can do it
Nice video. I had the pleasure(NOT) of breaking a spark plug off in the head of a 94 Cavalier recently. It broke just like yours did with the threads and side electrode staying inside the head and the porcelain part with the nut coming out. I had one of the spiral extractors but after reading about how they can expand what you put them in and having a better chance of breaking off in it, I bought a square extractor and eventually got it out. It did not come out easy like yours did though. I have to use a 1/2 inch impact on it before it would budge. It did mess up the threads a little bit but after cleaning the threads with a chaser, I was able to get a new plug in it and it's running fine now. I was sweating it for a while though.
Siren video is mandatory! Make it so…
That's funny… Remove a spark plug by hand🤣… It must have been a late night for the one that put them in, I've had plenty of those night where I'm like " did I tighten them? Yeah yeah I did" then later find out I didn't 🤣🤣
Another excellent video Dr E.O!!! Backstrap is the best !!
Funny how both things could've been avoided with a proper maintenance schedule..
I’ve adopted “ding dong” and “mother lover” into my vocabulary now in an attempt to not F bomb every time I’ve gotten torqued off…so far it’s working. Thanks, Dr. O!
So that's why I started getting hooves trimming videos in my home… Kind of addicting, have to agree with that
I can't help but to watch the cow hoof videos too. 🙂 No idea why either…
I know what you mean Eric. I find myself watching guys on youtube that cut people's grass for free.😂
I always use a small dab of anti-seize on the spark plug threads, it definitely makes removal much easier and keeps the rust down.
Haha cow hoofs somehow I'm hooked on the hoof gp I also do not own a cow !
Love the cow hoof too! HoofGP!
I like the way you keep your cool. Has to be an important part of being a good mechanic.
This is what happens when you don’t adhere to the vehicle’s maintenance schedule.
Great video again, love the "classic reach around with lube" too funny
if people stopped buying cars desighned like this mabey they would make them eaiser to work on. this is why i now cut grass for a living vs fixing cars
Where’s Winston the German Shepard?
Don’t you believe in anti seize on your plug threads?
Great video Mr O, I have a seven point that I just processed and I'm making deer jerky out of it I'll ship some to you when it's done 👍
Those air tools WILL make you deaf.
the hoof GP I bet
The Hoof GP ? I'm with you.
Great advice, STAY COOL when stuff happens. It does pay off. Great job and video!!! Thank you Sir!!
I love the video cannot believe that dang plug broke out of the center like that man can't believe it come back out after it got broken like that dang Skippy love the video
Nice family. Keep the video's coming.
My T&C had 3.8. Thought I could do the plugs. 4 came out ok. The last 2….. I surrendered. I couldn't even get a socket on them. A private tech said it was a job that could be a bugger. He said book on the plug change was outrageous but that would be the charge. Took it to the Dodge dealer. The writer just laughed. He said he would turn it over to the guy who is a contortionist and amazes everyone how he can reach into things. This guy changed out the final 2 in .5 hour and the dealer charged about $75 for the change. Worth it in my mind. I asked him how he got the socket on the plugs, he just smiled and said it was a great big bear hug reach around.
I'm with you on the hoof trimming videos. Why? I don't know, but so satisfying.
My tenderloin never makes it to the freezer gets cooked the next morning and put on a fresh homemade biscuit about the best eating you can have
