You should make your “do do do do do” into a ring tone.
I'm surprised the plastic ring securing the strut survived the accident on the hit side but the other fell off haha. Cheap plastic holding suspension onto the vehicle, hahaha. Maybe the mob convinced them, hahaha
Petr needs his own channel!
This Plastic Retaining Ring that Holds the Strut In place, really shows how far down the Sewer Chrysler/Fiat/ Jeep has Fallen–the Original Bolts Holes are still on Top Pedestal as shown in your video. Everyone has to know that bolts will most assuredly hold up the strut better that one pc. of plastic. Engineering in my humble opinion just like Politics is going to Hell very quickly…
The gun broke?
Good thing you live in a civilized country where you don't need to bring your own tools to work. Like in those gold mines in the old times, where they would drive you into debt by selling you the tools you needed to work in their mine.
I wonder if this car is worth fixing.. In fact, I think not
9.32 "money shot". Still LMAO.
Whoa, someone must have some serious sentimental love to repair that car. That looks to be a pile of work and money
Shaft in hole not going there ROFL
Must be time to buy some more milwaukee tools
Blimey, that front shock tower fastening system must have been designed by somebody sleep waking, wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t watched this, what an absolute crap design, considering that the other side wasn’t even fastened probably shows that the bean counters thought they didn’t need securing at all so came up with that idea as a token gesture!
The brake lines busted is a non-issue, plenty of friction grinding everything else up bent and rubbing to stop the car…
Hey Ray how about a new bearing.
Looks like a side impact… the other strut clip was involved in the accident, it was pushed to the point it separated and released the strut. If those struts were fixed in the normal bolted to a bit of tin method, the top mount would have been damaged on both, possibly the car would have been a total loss. So the plastic mounts (that only stop the strut falling out when it's jacked up) makes for a lower insurance premium, due to less expensive repairs, because they minimise structural damage in front or front/ side collisions. The most common type being a kerb strike.
I once owned a Volkswagen Polo that was written off due to kerb strike at less than 20mph, the damage looked similar but not as bad as this one, until I looked at the strut tower and realised it was mangled, just enough to need to be replaced, along with the driver's door, the wing (fender? I think you call them in America) strut, tie rod and drive shaft…
Never bought another VW since, never will again.
Pretty sure these clips are a Chrysler thing, maybe FIAT (Fix It Again Tomorrow ) or PSA since Daimler sold the group to them years ago, definitely never seen it on a Mercedes Benz.
I would total it
Needs more pry bars, mallets, rubber hammers, impact hammer,
Insurance Company asks "how did this brake line get severed into two pieces?" Ray rolls eyes , shrugs and walks away! LOL 😉
imagine driving down the road knowing that important things like the front struts were held in by a cheap plastic clip ?
We can dance. Safety dance
I noticed that the strut retainer thingy had some words imprinted on the top. I also noticed that you did not properly rotate the strut retainer thingy with the words on top so that they were facing forward so you could read them properly. I am sure, now that you know, you will strive to orient all future strut retainer thingies with words on top properly in the future.
Thank you for your compliance 🤣
more like.. frustration move.. not merely rookie.. lol time is $$ presures lol the more you work.. the more BOSSES get paid & not so much us lol
80 ft lbs.. WITH LOCKTIE lol
did fiat make it take studs? not nuts? lol
lol.. you said that after txt.. lol
1979 fiat X19
so some reclaimed junkyard parts on a body shop job. Is that how they meet their profit margins?
this is why you only have your vato's stance your ride, as you can see white people will do it wrong, and end up just fixing it.
Wouldn't it be easier to repair that break line before reassembly?
the slo-mo of the air hammer is freakin' awesome
And replace my oldest Dave out
Good stuff dude ! I'm 68 been spinning wrenches since 13 years old got to go out rear sub frame in my 99 contour that was fun when it broke on the highway should be interesting replacing it later Dave from c.f. OUT don't mind the the spelling be safe
MFC sells a replacement “metal part” for that.
What was wrong with strut bolts on the tower Chrysler?
That rolling flat tire shot was so satisfying.
LSA on your gun. If you registered.
Love watching you work, just watched this great video.
Get a Snap-On ph3050 and a quick disconnect chuck and hearing protection…
"What the f*** is that?" Shhhhhhh, no usual workshop talk. We are on camera! 😬
Don't you use your smallest tool that you've got at home? 🙂
I don't really care what engineer came up with that plastic clip – that engineer had his head up his ass.
….. And then I got to the part of the video where one of the other side flew right off. Nice to know if you go over a big bump your suspension isn't attached!!!!
By this point its easier just to say Stellantis when dealing with crazy stupid car shit, it all seems to be Stellantis products. Spendt the last month doing callback work on Toyota Proaces (Peugeot Partners in fancy makeup). They really are shitty shitty terribly put together awful cars!
Plastic parts. Newer cars are just junk !
I find it disturbing that people want you to fail. I'm a small engine mechanic in NJ and need a change of scenery. Perhaps FL? 🤔🤔🤔
It's a Fiat Chrysler automobiles so yes it is a Fiat product
Ooooo that strut came with a racing stripe. Must have come from fast mopar😝😝😝
Never buying a Crashler confirmed.
Chrysler really does build some serious junk…..
Did you make sure that your boss didn't charge the customer for your mistake?
Oh boy we're playing dominoes
Hazard is bent frame preventing safe repair of front end and it my not bolt back together!
