  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jay Atkin says:

Have to ask… did you retorque the valve covers? Didn’t see or hear you state that was done while having access.
These manufacturers really need to have the design engineers make their product then do the maintenance/repair steps needed from their designs. Perhaps they would figure out putting plugins on wire looms and vacuum lines to facilitate the access for repairs. It seems like they forget things fail and do need repair! Sheesh!🤠👍👍

Judging by the apparent "billable hours" on that gasket replace… that's a surprisingly awesome "do unto others" gift!! You had my full "like" before…now … you also have my full respect!!!

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Liberallez says:

People rant about the "fake news" …and then… they believe the "fake news" BS about Ukraine!!! 😳🧐🤮

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars JimAirborne25 says:

As an individual American citizen, who is an Army vet, if I am not serving in an official capacity, and at 50 years old, and not likely to be conscripted (I hope and imagine) any acts I commit as an unofficial combatant, I should not be subject to a convention I did not sign myself. I would not expect individual Ukrainians to be subject to punishment for defending their homes and homeland. I’m pretty sure that Afghans aren’t being prosecuted. Americans get prosecuted because they are one of the most high profile nations to have signed. Many nations don’t follow the Geneva Convention, but none are as powerful as America.
That being said, if you can roll a tank by doing that “tiger trap,” you’re in good shape. EFP’s are good against armor. The Germans developed and used them in WWII. Insurgents in Iraq used them quite a bit. Afghans, not so much.

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Hart says:

Went back in time for part 1 …. now back from the past for part 2 ….lol

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars numberyellow says:

As far as i understand, legitimate military forces must abide by the Geneva conventions and protocols. civilian militias, acting in defense of their homeland, are not required to. if we got invaded, you guys could trap, and immolate as many tanks as you want, lol.

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dad Dukes says:

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Real Human says:

Geneva convention, Geneva suggestions I always say.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John McBride says:

Geez some people sound dumb as shit lol every time ray says something it goes quiet like they don’t comprehend or something

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Uncle Bullhorn says:

Finally, something I know. Under the 3rd Geneva Convention persons who are lawful combatants and thus subject to laws regarding the treatment of Prisoners of War include

"4-6. Inhabitants of a non-occupied territory, who on the approach of the enemy spontaneously take up arms to resist the invading forces, without having had time to form themselves into regular armed units, provided they carry arms openly and respect the laws and customs of war."

So the Ukrainians who took arms spontaneously when the Russians came in were following the Laws of Land Warfare. After a few weeks, those civilians were made part of the Territorial Defense, and protected under another section. Of course, the Russians are ignoring all the laws.

    You found your 10mm?😲😲

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mark Szyszkiewicz says:

You ever work on 2000 eclipse gt's? I could stand some of that.

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars zcripple1 says:

The USA does NOT follow all the protocols having to do with the Geneva Conventions, we simply don't agree with them. We also don't recognize the international courts. I'm sure you probably knew that but decided to say it anyways. And on the topic of tanks, a lot our roads are not built to handle the weight of them. They could be driving down and bam sewers give out, water mains, and other possibilities..all depends on the area and directions. I know it has nothing to do with the vehicle you're working on but just thought i would say it anyways. Just in case someone thinks of them has fun facts 😀

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars KEVIN Avillain says:

I hope you've heard the saying if you don't watch the news you're uninformed if you watch the news you're missing formed

Did the customer get to see this video ?

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars dhldriver says:

Awesome repair, this coming from a truck driver, who is not a mechanic but enjoy the job!

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Aaron Witchey says:

I'm sorry man, but that your co worker that was asking if those hidden parts could be cleaned, please let him know that he is remedial. I see now why you do not want your shop identified on here.

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sophie Dolman says:

Hi Ray, fab video. Watching all that work for valve covers, do you come across leaking rear gaskets, due to unscrupulous workshops only changing the front, and just leaving the rear?? I can just imagine them doing the bit that can be seen! We don't see big fwd engined cars here in the UK, so not sure it would be a problem, but if we did, we surely would !! Xxxxxx

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Alex Miller 1980 says:

Wow, neat and done 👍🏻, that customer is a freeloader, that car is bad maintained…you give a good name to car mechanical technicians

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Burt Bee says:

We need honest mechanics like you. Dealerships will up-charge for commission, then lose that customer and hope to find more suckers. You understand that retention is more valuable than one $3,000 job. Nicely done.

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Paul Santos says:

Came here for the repair video. Stayed for the military strategy. edit: Seafoam, not Sea salt – and it goes into the fuel system or through the intake!

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars The Mighty Potato Devourer says:

Sad part is that flamethrower comment is actually true…. Farmer burns fields to prep it for the next thing they decide to grow

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Anthony Carlyle says:

    like button cliiiick

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars spudd86 says:

You are correct, the Geneva Convention does on;y apply to governments and militaries, not civilians acting on their own initiative, though flame throwers aren't banned.

Fun fact about that. Hollow point bullets are banned by the Hague convention. They are also what basically every police force uses because they are much better at stopping the person you shot from doing anything if you hit them. They do this by causing more harm, which is the reason they're banned for military use.

Fun fact about flame throwers, their main use is actually to clear things like bunkers, not directly setting people on fire, no you clear a bunker by shooting the flame thrower into it to use up the oxygen and heat up the room.

What is and isn't banned for military use is really weird.

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Douglas Lunsford says:

Ah, the battery ratchet. My favorite tool!

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Anthony Vickers says:

Question…?.Which Auto Brand thinks about the Mechanics.., and accommodates getting to the Whole Engine without Any problems Due to Forward-thinking in Design..Let us all Know.

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Anthony Vickers says:

You are really informative and entertaining, This customer will be blown away when they pick up the car, I'd say they will continue coming to your shop Noing how in-depth you went to Repairing the issues at hand.BRAVO.
